Thargoid invasion - Next target systems?

Seems to be running at 10%/hour at the moment, which is roughly 2.5 hearts per day. Assuming it gets faster in the evening it'll probably make it through today, but probably won't make it very far into Saturday.

Well, this looks nice!

Leigong week 68.jpg

Quick video of that attack, which I thought to run quickly just in case it enters Meltdown so quickly that I miss seeing the amounts. Disregard the Glaive noticing a slight problem; normally everything is much quieter!

I was there last night with a cutter and eax multi cannons, I was getting around 120-170k per run, how do you get so much?

A few reasons:
  • It was much less vulnerable last night!
  • Missiles are much more efficacious.
  • Those are Sirius missiles, quite expensive and even better!
  • Very likely freezing more vents than you were—see the video!

I will watch video tonight after work :) I was hitting 4-5 vents in the Cutter, not bad for a newb I think lol o7

For planning at Oya, here's the map for this week
Oya-edges.png
Oya's potential for attacks this week is limited (next week will likely be worse):
- BD+77 84 to 47 Cassiopeiae
- HIP 3006 to Liu Hef
- Cephei ZE-A c8 to one of the other ZE-A systems, probably ZE-A d69.

Spire assistance will help down to HIP 4041 which does cover all of the above attackers as well; interestingly there's also been an attack of 20% handed in on HIP 8525, which is out of spire range this week

I think I'm going to switch the multis out to rockets. I was using rockets originally but the firing bug made me switch them to the multi's, which honestly I do enjoy using a bit more.
Rockets are def the best choice I'm getting 3-4 mil per heat cycle with just 3x 3c Sirius racks. Should be able to hit 5mil when I toss the TV beam for another rack the TV beam is probably not needed just been using it to try to avoid aggro.

I felt that the TV was pretty extraneous last night as well tbh. It was easy enough to escape any aggro and the Titan's lasers weren't that troublesome either.

I am getting 3.6 mil bonds after hitting 5 vents and unloading the complete rounds of 4x 2E Sirius racks (i.e. 4x16 missiles). After that, exposure time is over, the heat core retracts, my missiles reload and I resynth 5 basic heatsinks - ready for the next round. If I had 3C sirius racks on board I would not be able to unload more missiles per heat core exposure. And I would be forced to ditch the remaining 8 of the rounds (24 minus 16) to have a complete set ready for the next run.

TLDR: Everybody who is (like me) unable to hit significantly more heat vents per run than 5 might consider to use the 2E Sirius racks (16 missiles per round) instead of the 3C version (24 missiles per round), because you cannot unload relevantly more than 16 missiles in the given time.🤔

Was my experience, too 👍 I also don’t think that repair limpets are an absolute necessity if you have enough hull from the start.

I'm probably going to put my shield back in as I feel like getting chipped away took more time to fix than what I reckoned probably wouldn't have taken it down in the first place. Plus with the Cutter handling, it's easy to bump into something.. even with G5 Dirty Drives etc.. Why is it that the Cutter looks like a dream but handles like a nightmare..
