Update 18.02 | Wednesday 10th April

I believe that the Logitech "intelligence" sits in the software, not the stick itself, so you're probably right. On a Virpil HOTAS, you have the intelligence sitting on the stick, that means you can program the mode switch + a button to act as a virtual button. E.g. <mode 1> + <button 1> = <virtual button 1> and <mode 2> + <button 1> = <virtual button 2>
...and that is a super handy feature.
1. no matter what comp you plug it into, you take the config with you.
2. you can make buttons and knobs into anything.

Okay, I must be missing something 'coz i just flew to a starport 300kls out and saw no difference. I'm assuming it's not passive, then, and need to be triggered, but no new bindings in the options for doing that.

Pointers for the clueless..?

A "solution"? You talk as if that were some kind of bug or game limitation.

It's a space simulation, not an arcade game. Be thankful that there is supercruise in the first place.
Because it is. Objectively it is the largest time sink in the game, during which there is largely nothing going on at all but watching a timer tick down over the course of hours.

That's a problem. That is a designed game limitation that has been a negative on the player experience from the very start. Everything about it is entirely arbitrary - like the fact therer is an artificial cap on acceleration/deceleration rate (which you would be aware of had you actually looked at the link in my thread and read the topic) - so the argument that it's thanks to "simulation" is wrong.

For those of us stuck on the edge of the bubble, any suggestions (or just name the ports ;)) where we can find these OP FSD units ? Don't fancy another needle in haystack search subgame.

Remember we the players chose the ship transfer option we have over the instant version and I am still very happy to have been on the winning side of that choice.

This isn’t a cruise everywhere quick module it is a great big afterburner like you saw on military fast jets which lets you go fast at the expense of not being able to go for long.
I too was on the 'authentic' side of that fiasco as opposed to "let's have Pokemon in space with our ships". The problem was Fdev then left it with excessive cost, which they never warned us about & everyone was distracted from by the aforementioned departure from the game's own authenticity. The time it takes to transfer itself could also stand to be tweaked, but my point here is that Fdev in terms of design choices seems far too obsessed with punishing players for trying to enjoy the game.

I will tell you straight out - if I cannot use this, owing to the extreme penalties, to "cruise everywhere quick", with long supercruise times being ever-present throughout a major portion of our 1:1 scale playable galaxy, then it is already a self-defeating implementation that fails to acknowledge the very issue it has ostensibly been created to address.

I don't have one but it looks like you use the same button as boost in normal flying. Toggle on/off, though rather than hold?
Thank-you!

Also, woah, that's crazy and totally impractical to use. Courier damn near out of fuel after just a few seconds boost, (and that needed 2 heatsinks...), and that "Control Interference", holy hell....

Get thee back to the workshop with your 'alpha' product, Achilles, and try again...

As far as i can tell, this new fsd makes inner system travel a lot quicker, ie. leaving planets, plus you can travel faster without being messed up by the gravity wells. Would be useful in massive systems. The jump range is terible & it cannot be engineered, so that really sucks.
Will only be putting it on the 2 ships i used doing surface missions

Work arounds? Virpil has a button that turns all of your devices into 32 button devices. Yes, you end up with 3 devices for the throttle.
It wasn't that way until last year, when they added it back (They removed it several years ago). Some people already had hours invested in other workarounds by then.

You keep talking about "issues" and "solutions", as if supercruise times were some kind of bug.

There are millions of space combat games out there. I'm sure you'll find one that suits your preferences if you search enough, which doesn't have these "issues".

Before everyone marches on Achilles with pitchforks and torches, maybe this is just phase 1 of the tech? Anything's possible right?
maybe this is bcs I am still a bit salty for them throwing us a curve ball at Oya for this patch most likely but man idk give them all the pitforks and torches xD
