DLC18 discussion and predictions

I mean i like mammals aswell, and a game like Planet zoo should obvious have its focus on mammals.
But its a littel to focused on them imo. Like it wouldnt hurt to do a habitat reptile more than once a year. And while birds definetly got alot of love recently, i still think there are so many groups of prominet and common birds completely untouched
I would even argue they are giving too much on specific mammal groups, it wouldn’t hurt to have some more focus on rodents and monkeys. Not like I’m saying anything revolutionary though.

Even if birds are doing better, they still aren’t quite where they should be. Since base game the largest amount of birds we got in one pack was two. Currently this is our longest running streak of birds, being at 4 over the last 3 packs. I do think this trend will continue, and I only hope Frontier sees the writing on the wall and gives us more than one in the next pack.

Yeah definetly agree.
Im just happy we got from 1 bird a year to 4 in the last 3 packs. Which does sound alot until you realize we got also got 4 pigs and 3 antelopes alone in the last year.
Which if anything just shows how utterly abysmal the 1 bird per year was that we had for the longest time.
Dont even get me started on monkeys tho... 😂

I have some considerations that I personally hope will be addressed in the upcoming game updates.

I believe it is essential and entirely feasible to update the game to include individual roofing pieces in the style of the Twilight pack, which would allow for broader customization of building projects within the game. It would also be highly valuable if other construction items could offer editable color options (flexicolour).

This approach has already been successful in the past with the Europa pack, proving to be a viable implementation well-received by the community. Furthermore, I would like to propose that this editable color functionality be extended especially to the classic, oriental, Indian, modern sets, and the Barnyard pack.

In detail, for items like the brick wall from the classic set that already has editable colors, it would be excellent to be able to adjust the colors of the mortar and bricks separately. Although this possibility was hinted at in the Europa pack trailer, unfortunately, it was not incorporated into the game. Including these options would significantly enrich the available customization.

Although the game already offers good customization alternatives, it is regrettable that certain pieces remain limited without this creative flexibility.

Since the Europa pack, the game has shown increasing potential for innovation, fueling expectations for new updates in this direction. However, despite recent packs introducing detachable pieces, such as those from the Twilight pack for roofs and doors, and the Tropical pack for masonry, as well as more editable color options for existing game pieces, as seen in the Europa and Oceania packs, it seems that developments have somewhat stalled. Some of the original game sets have been somewhat neglected, and the most recent pack did not meet expectations by introducing whole pieces without the possibility of color editing.

I continue to hope for this update!

Monkey see, monkey do. Frontier is afraid of monkeys, too

Yeah, a lotta people have wanted the old build sets to be flexicolor. I believe they did make some flexicolor, but not all of them

I think people should realize there are no such things as “Fan/Favorite/Community” titled DLCs in all video game and video game DLC history in the main industry. DLC titles and marketing don’t explicitly cater to such groups by name mentioning, save for certain exceptions that I know of in regards to description store texts. So there’s no reason to believe such a PDLC will happen one way or another for any of their games, though some future PDLC packs may contain all animals that may be considered “favorites” or something, even if they aren’t explicitly or implyingly titled like that.

The closest we have received is the wetlands pack which did state it featured some the communities favourite animals. So frontier does mention fan favourite animals in their dlc just not as mainstream as some wishlists try to do. A dlc actually labelled as a "favourites" dlc is a great way to alienate a large portion of the playerbase.

I believe this is something feasible and technically simple. The last update of this type was with the Oceania pack, which enabled color editing of straw pieces. I think this is a demand that Frontier should already be aware of, but it is always important to reinforce this desire.

They did something similiar to the barnyard pack "introducing some highly requested animals", which made some people chuckle a bit

Reptiles, I love reptiles so much; they're all so amazing.

Ok, I'd go for a 3rd tortoise. My preference would be the African spurred tortoise, so that we get an arid species.
(Hot take, but the in-game tortoises aren't too small, just they don't get to full size)...

For crocodilians, I don't want anymore except for am African species. The Nile is very popular with the public, but it really won't do anything that the Saltie doesn't (except for African rep). However, I wouldn't oppose it. My preference would be the dwarf crocodile...

For habitats lizards, a monitor from Australia would be nice, as well as the Argentine black-and-white tegu. They get pretty large and would add something different for South American zoos

How would y'all feel if we got decorations like lassos, boleadoras, and horseshoes into the game?
I feel like they would've actually been perfect for the Barnyard pack, as a sorta way to educate guests about how animals were kept in the past and in other countries.

Because, imma be honest: the new scenery is in my top favorites, and I love that I can make a rustic setting. But I'm greedy and want more, so yeah

Yes, not the DLC titles. Though, looking back, I may have been somewhat mistaken for how common or uncommon the text description marketing may be to an extent for Frontier’s case.

Would be a cool inclusion for a desert pack. Like take baboon, perentie, roadrunner and coyote or something like that and bundle it up with a mix of wild west and native scenery
