Yeah thats what i thought aswell. Felt more like warming up than an actual dlc.
I dont play the game, so idk what the general reaction was but id have been pretty bummed out by that
Surprisingly was well received, seemingly by the majority based on the EvoSquare poll.
One of them got a redesign, all of them got a glow in the dark pattern, and they interact with their source dinosaurs (
aside from Spinosaurus), so there's some effort there.
Ankylodocus still can't fight back, one of the major gripes aside from the original unattractive design. I suspect it'll be remedied this update.
I don't think that's anything to go on, TBH. The last Planet Zoo pack we got was an "animal pack" that was structured differently than any of the others. This pack is coming immediately after another one. It could be a bigger species pack. It could be a "species pack" with additional content. Patterns are out the window as far as content is concerned.
My key point is that whatever happens with JWE2 is pretty likely to influence the Planet Zoo discourse this time around. Especially if it looks to be a final pack. I'm not saying they are linked in anyway... Just that it's going to influence the discourse.
There's some flexibilty, the lagoon platform is part of the Aquatic species pack, but a small scenery theme is a bit of a stretch, there's not even basic signage in the packs, unlike PZ (
maybe a cave or two, given the context, but a shelter would be better as a more generalised thing, rather than for 2-3 species of a DLC).
Being a Species pack, I can't really imagine more from it, carefully choosing their words to set expectations off the bat. The fact there was a special direct talk for the next DLC, and info on JWE3 just so happens to be public now, it does pretty strongly hint this is the last one, hopefully the free update makes the difference.
