PC2 - Themes Wishlist

With the announcement of PC2, we learned that the base game will include five new themes:
1. Aquatic
2. Mythological
3. Planet Coaster
4. Resort
5. Viking

Whilst these are all very exciting new themes, I’m sure we’re all feeling like there’s a lot missing… What are some themes you are hoping for in future DLCs?

All PlanCo1 included themes should (IMHO) be default included in PlanCo2 -- I don't wanna wait (or worse, pay DLC money) for a Pirates theme in a waterpark, for example (glad to get Viking, doesn't replace having Pirates). Any DLC that doesn't use other IP (Spooky, Adventure, etc), should be included in PlanCo2 as well -- it'll take some work to move the assets over, nowhere near as much as it took to make them in the first place. I still (like, last week) look to use objects in PlanCo1 that I'm sure are there . . . because I used them a decade ago in RCT3. There's no good reason to make us choose between the features we're finally getting (lovely as they look) in PlanCo2 and the stuff we're used to working with in PlanCo1.

Honestly, between the PlanCo1 stuff but better (flexcolor stuff that wasn't, or was poorly implemented like the Pavilions, removable bum-poles and boxes on the animatronics) and scaling (not sure I trust the -60% to 200% limits, Lilliputian theming should be doable with tiny/huge fantasy stuff), I'm pretty happy with the existing/announced themes, just want better implementation and more in them (some gaps in building pieces filled in, more scenery that takes advantage of the new stick-to-rides features, etc).

Hmmm, Mad Scientist stuff, that'd be good. Bubbling tubes and vats, that goes with water -- jacob's ladder, bouncing power halos, electricity in general doesn't, but still.

Im repeating myself but im very keen on keeping what we already have. I love so many of the pieces we already have and I'm very much used to having them available.
Either way, some theme's I would almost consider mandatory as let's be honest, nearly every park has either a pirates theme or a pirates ride in the park.

I really hope we see the following theme's back (very) soon :
  • Pirate
  • Western
  • Spooky
  • Fairy Tale
  • Adventure

And maybe "movies" is not so much of a theme in itself but the pack came with a great selection of lights and animatronics. I hope those will be carried over or be replaced by comparable pieces.

-Fantasy/Fairytale - doesn't have to be the same as before but it's the main things I like to build

- Spooky - combines well with fantasy. Really will miss the floating books and cauldrons and stuff if we don't have them.

-Pirate - it's classic

- Similar to the vintage pack in the first game, or classic type architecture and fences and stuff.

I don't think there has been a theme park simulator without the standard themes before. except maybe Theme Park which didn't have themes really. Will limit being able to create a standard park for all but the best builders.

It looks like we're getting the Planet Zoo foliage, thankfully, it's gorgeous. I'd love to have most of the building sets from Planet Zoo too. Again beautiful pieces that are very versatile and useful.
And hopefully, the research system will be more like Planet Zoo so you can research anything and choose what you research.

Thank you for reminding me about the research system in zoo.

I think they should keep all the PC1 themes (including the DLC ones) and just add the new themes!!
I currently don’t think it’s the best solution. I think the game should have the main themes (Western, Pirates, Spooky, Adventure, Fantasy) and then add more with DLCs and also add premium paid scenery/stuff for the already existing themes. Don’t forget also, that themes will also be needed for the water parks. 😁

When the Artic and South American DLC were the first to be released for Planet Zoo, it was obvious and nice that we would have a DLC for every continent. Now we're getting Mythogical and Viking. Mythological to me hints at a Greek temple style.

So maybe this repetition but from varying areas of the world will be followed and themes will arrive along the lines of....

Mayan.
Egyptian.
Aboriginal.
Indian.
Medieval.
New World (First settlers in America, not modern).
21st Century.

There are other ideas for cultural civilization DLC I am sure.

But the door is still open for the other cool ideas I've just read here. Not sure about adventure and spooky and sci-fi these days. Outer-space, Apocalypse and Steampunk sound good though.

Again some wonderful ideas, but without the classic themes I feel a bit flat about building parks at the moment. I know I will enjoy the themes in the game and the suggestions here. But they wouldn't be the main themes I would use, more enhancing my existing ideas.
I have to agree on this one. All themes are welcome but the "basic" ones are kind of a must have.

Like I said before, pretty much every park has a pirate section or ride (Pirates of the caribbean). Its hard to imagine we can't properly build one of these.
