Yeah, so 3.9 looks kind of awesome. It's amazing to read the tweaks and fixes and see all the stuff I didn't even know existed. Makes you appreciate how complex this game is under the hood.

50% through the load. Can't wait to try it out.

I Just had a crash entering the outfitting screen, will log a ticket anyway.
 
Downloading this now, just bought beta access for a friend yesterday so while I'm not looking forward to the progress wipe (I fully understand though - don't want the Alpha and Beta folks starting way ahead of the preorder folks, after all!), I'm looking forward to exploring space with my friend! He's gonna be my hired merc, so now I'll finally have a way of paying him for protecting me, and I'm happy about that, even if it isn't quite a credit transfer yet.

Don't get too excited, unless they have added grouping or tethering its really hard to do. For example last time a friend and i tried to play together we tried to both drop out of supercruise at an unidentified signal source to explore it... we could not both even identify the same signal sources on our screens let alone figure out how to get to the same one together. Maybe this has changed now but doing anything together without tethering is very hard.
 
You can drop cargo off for each other without it being marked as stolen.

Ok.. So if we manage to meet up, we can then exchange resources that one of us bought for the credits we got from the bounty. But we do not get rep both of us then if we work together on killing a pirate? Is that intentional? Kind of work against team work in a multiplayer experience I would think. I am just baffled of the missing group functionality in the multiplayer experience hype.. Was hoping to gift the game to some friends, but I can not do that when we can not play together in a reasonable/expected fashion. My expectations might just be way off. The design doc´s looked promising in this regard. But we get the least needed functionality first. just weird to me.
 
I've noticed that too. Also planets, stations and ships only seem to receive light from 1 star (usually the closest). Not all of the ones in the system :eek:

I hope that gets corrected. Sometimes you find planets with the dark side facing a star which looks strange.
I'm not imagining things am I? Non of the planets, moons or stars currently rotate in-game, right? They should all rotate at different speeds, depending on size and whatnot. Pulsars can spin many times a second, so there should be some visible rotation of other stuff right? It would make things look more real and look dramatically more spectacular.

All of the moons and planets rotate. I have sat and watched them... :D

Also there are a bunch of timelapse videos on YouTube showing this happening... :)
 
The game is REALLY dark. It makes it more atmospheric and ship lights actually do some stuff but no idea if its on purpose.
