If it's a Viper then it would have to be a Mk I , they had a nice render of the Viper Mk II on the kickstarter page and this isn't the same. As for Fer de Lance, it seems too small. If memory serves me correctly in the original game it could carry up to 15 passengers (it was a long time ago and if I'm wrong I'll gladly defer to the expert knowledge of the forum). We've seen the federation fighter in one of the email updates and it's more angular and slab like.
So the Eagle is still an unknown quantity. We've seen the Sidewinder and the Cobra Mk III, but we still have no idea what the other starter ship looks like.
So three questions, is it going to be in the game ? is it going to be player flyable? and what is it?:S

Small, or far away?
Given that it was on the last newsletter, and that was full of concept art for freighters, I think it is most likely concept art for a (small) freighter.

Yes, it is clearly labelled a freighter here.
So boa or anaconda?
I'm confused.
They have very clearly stated and shown, multiple times that the Anaconda is this ship.

The Anaconda was the first ship ever shown.
It looks NOTHING like that. Unless they completely changed the design.
Also, the Boa and Python are CLASSIC shapes, I don't know why they would touch those but leave the Cobra III alone.
It must be a different frieghter of some sort. Possibly a new ship entirely.

It might be just me but number nine looks a little bit like a panther clipper.

If Frontier are keeping each group with it's own style, then I'd say, that looks Federation to me.
Independents would have a more "mend and make-do" style to them.

The No. 4 looks pretty good. It is drawn from a different angle. And these are only of the blanks.
On the Facebook photo it's a slightly modified but I think almost finalized.
Yeah OK, but these are the drawings. I meant that I cannot find the picture of the planet and the CG version of the unknown ship anywhere...
It is shown in the top of Newsletter #4 but it is mirrorred (or did the OP mirror the image?) Obviously the way it is shown in the newsletter it looks best that way, pointing the ship to the right in stead of to the left.
Did some searching and I found it on the PhotoBucket site of the newsletters:

This one is also mirrorred from the newsletter so the OP did not change it.
Problem solved... except... which ship is it!!!???
It definately is a freighter: the original filename says so (Freighter_flight01).
Someone could make it a poll and we can have some fun around it.
I think it could be a Boa or a Python. Basically the medium class freighters. It definately isn't Empire by the looks of it and it doesn't look hotchpotch either to me so I'm guessing Federation.
