Elite Dangerous | System Colonisation Claim Pause

I mean, it's not stopping you if you want to keep doing that.
It is, if others are going to leapfrog me due to more efficient methods... I'm not thick! I just like innovations that encourage more varied gameplay loops. not less. And to get railroaded CMDRs to see some sights...

Wait a minute...

So, my first system, with one completed outpost and one just-begun ground settlement, has me locked out of System Architect (but I have not yet tested whether the ground settlement construction site is still accepting materials)... but my second system, with its primary starport nearly, but not quite, complete, still shows my name as system architect. Is that how it's working for everyone with different systems, pre- and post- Primary Starport completion?

You might have just died at some point and lost your exploration data for the system - that's happened to me in two systems now. scan it all and they should come back.

No, I didn't. I have checked that 10 times. Planet is missing not only on the map but also physically in the system. Completely disappeared. And I'm not the only one with this problem.

And I checked that eleventh time and you have right. Even when I scanned whole system I needed to rescan all bodies and my missing planet is back!

On my end I show that system as having CMDR Diana Rigg as the architect, is that correct, or is that not you?

I believe the not being able to architect your own system was the visual bug FDev mentioned they are working on.

I read in earlier posts that some CMDRs have the architect mode back but I don't. I wonder why some do and some don't.

Update: the ground station shows no Architect (CMDR box is blank) but is accepting materials towards its construction. Do I dare complete it? It would give me something to do. Presumably it would show zero remaining required but not offer the naming thing.

...there is a colonization contact at Sisters Refuge. That's how. Also, the post was made right around the time colonization contacts were locked down.

This was/is a legitimate effort. The "exploit" some are going on about is actually an older exploit, pre-colonization, that found a new application.
That's not the exploit they were originally on about, which was as per the fault report - a single CMDR completing systems from 0% to 100%, instantly.

Which system? The one with a completed primary station? The other one (incomplete primary port) does show the name okay to me. The completed one has a blank box.
That is one of my alts, yes.

That’s how mine looked whilst completing a Coriolis station earlier today, when it was complete the station popped into existence but all further construction activity and options disappeared.

The HIP 29515, wasn't sure which problem you were saying that one was though. I think based on it giving you a time limit that was the one still in progress? You only had the system name (well catalog IDs) in the first screenshot so I couldn't check the other on my end.

Please disable the immediate Colonization contact access being given to every commander other than the system architect when deliveries to an initial station in a new claim are completed, but before the station fully deploys at the weekly server tick. If there is not going to be any limitation on the number of systems commanders can colonize, there needs to at least be the weekly server tick limit to chaining systems, or the trailblazers expansion will rapidly start unduly intruding on unexplored space and having a deleterious effect on exploration.

I heard of a bug, where it is possible to claim new systems from an unfinished previous system. Just one tons of material is enough to claim another system from this unfinished system. Does anyone know about this or is it rumor? If not, at least for these systems you should consider a roll back.
No rollback! Don't even think something like that. Not after so many hours spent hauling. Beta or not

I would say that it's okay because this is just a beta, but to be fair, y'all (Frontier) make these kind of egregious errors every single event/update that end up leading to punishing the entire player base as a whole.

Note to CMDRs: the trick is to do these things early, in the first few days of an event, as well as to have a plan of action so you can start from the moment an event kicks off -- because Frontier will inevitably find a way to shut it down after about a week due to some "unforeseen" player actions.

I'd write out a list of events where this has happened, but it'd probably be too much typing for my fingers at this hour.

Leapfrog you? Just build at your own pace. Let other build at their own pace.

snip ", or the trailblazers expansion will rapidly start intruding on unexplored space and having a deleterious effect on exploration."
The premise that its 'intruding' on unexplored space is ridiculous. The galaxy isn't anyone's own private reserve to be protected. Its a free for all land grab.

Lets face it, you aren't exactly traveling in to the great unknown expanse, if you are just 'exploring' around already occupied human systems. The galaxy is huge there's plenty of room for everyone to engage in the gameplay they want to.

Besides, Its been years and the explorers still haven't found Raxxla. Maybe the colonists will have a better chance, and they may also do something that's actually tangibly useful for the rest of humanity if they manage to build a CMM refinery on it.:p
