Made my first meaningful mistake loading Outpost supplies - I have been shaving a few seconds by manually docking, but that one time it gave me a pad which was the diagonal opposite corner across the "deck." It seems I had my posterior over pad 25 slightly too long on approach to pad 26. Now I see why the autopilot drops in from above.

Don't mind the fine but I was pretty low on fuel so that could have been nasty if I'd been actually empty, can't buy fuel without paying a fine, can't pay a fine when there's no Contacts...

I've finished composites, and thus finished all the surface trips, I'm well into metals now... no sign of Fruit and Veg anywhere near though so I think I'll have to do a flit somewhere for that in the Cobby when I've done everything else. Which must mean the workers are all on freeze-dried chicken soup meanwhile, as long as Arnold J Rimmer keeps those nozzles clean.

Even figured out that of the four systems that have metals easy to get to, one of them is slightly quicker to point at when you get off the construction deck, and that actually makes more difference than how far out the system is at the other end. I said the other day it was like turning laps but it's maybe more like cycling, you win by just taking a second or two of faff out of the roundtrip every time you do it.
 
One paint job and a six-part kit. The red "Planar" repaint that comes with it does not seem to be available separately, I didn't realise that - maybe it is another "hook" to buy the pre-built ship by FDEV.
Yes the paint job that comes with the Stellar version of the early access ships seams to be a unique colour not available elsewhere although there will be several other colours of the design available.

Is there really no way to reset this notification thingie? I have searched but cannot find anything to let me get rid of the exclamation mark and once it is there it totally negates the panel's message notification function.
I remember Para Handy asking FDev about this quite some time ago now. Nothing has ever been done to address it as far as I know.
 
I just did, for old times' sake, a power on mission to test out how the CMV performed and For Science ™

Wow. Things have changed a bit. I got the warming that scavs were on their way so it was going to be a good test of nukem-from-orbit time. What I didn't appreciate/know/realise, was that non-scavs could be at the facility too.

So, now I'm a murderer again and asking IF to accept my payment. Which they won't as I have notoriety.

Had a look for Agri nearby and it turned out there was a biiiiig system two hops away I'd never visited. Risked going shieldless in the Cobby to make just enough room for the 53 tonnes of anti-scurvy supplies and rattle up a couple of million in DSS data. Knocked another 3t off water with the spare room. That broke the monotony nicely, so it's back in for another T-8 stint next.
 
I'm currently preparing the Star Gull for her first trip out into the not so dark and simultaneously trying to build a new EDHM theme (I somehow managed to mess up both of my first ones with no backup). And I find myself struggling a bit with a few settings.
One would be the power level indicators of the power regulator. The three-part gradient setting doesn't seem to work and the two-part gradient setting seems a little weak.
But, more importantly, despite setting all colors to the base color of my theme, the lining up mini game appears in some quite dark blue and I can't find a way to change that.
 
YA i "murdered "too as i did the exact same thing hell from above what were innocents doing firing at my ship in the first place and in with the scavangers?
not so innocent so not murder a valid bounty as they shot first as far as i am concerned
i did not get any notoriorty though i just paid the insignificant to me bill via interstellar factors🤷‍♂️

Hi All :)

I'm back in the heart of the bubble, ferrying commodities to build my second system claim, starting with an Outpost this time. System is Col Sector MK-T B18-5, nothing much there, just 2 asteroid belts around the suns and provision for 5 orbitals.
Nice and central to my 'homebase' and easy to get build materials in the nearby systems though...I'll see how it goes as it will be interesting to find out what this system can provide for such a sparce system. It will also be another 'base' to choose from for my two Grandson's....a good base for some medium ships, and an ideal position to start from, they are only 6-8 yrs old so I have to closely monitor them when we play the game together.:eek:
Once they have grasped the basics I'll buy them the complete game, but they're nowhere near that at the moment.

Having skirted the bubble, and seeing how Cmdr's are populating the systems, it seems to me the initial fervour with colonisation is dwindling a bit in some areas. Other areas are pushing out though, one area around the Canopus region is doing well, also other certain areas are still going strong, with a definite push out to the Coal Sack nebulae. There's still loads of areas that have got the 3wk tag with no progress going on in those systems. I've mentioned it before I think, but with all these new colonised areas and part colonised areas displayed on the Galmap it's pretty confusing and cluttered imo. Once most of the interior bubble systems are claimed and we have a more central 'static' graphic overlay then it will probably be easier to navigate on the map....well at least for me.:rolleyes:
What do you people think, is the Galmap getting too cluttered and confusing now?...I still think it would have been a good idea to colour player claimed system icons on the Galmap different to the pre-colonisation ones, I know you can filter them out but still....🤷‍♂️

Okay, servers are going to be down in a few minutes, so time for breakfast and then some gardening for 2-3 hours now the sun's out this morning! ☀️...:D
