DLC 19 Speculation

Probably a hot take but if we got the roadrunner alongside the coyote I would be hyped. Awesome little fellas.
I don't think it's so much of a hot take, it's just people REALLY want those last two slots in the pack's roster to be the coati and mara specifically. Also, the chances of us getting three birds in one pack (even if two of them are relatively low-effort) probably aren't high.

I would adore the roadrunner, though! They're very cute and would pair perfectly with the coyote.

That's exactly what I was thinking, the Roadrunner is my most wanted bird (burrowing owl is a very, VERY, close second) and I would very so happy to get it, is it unlikely, sure, would it take a slot from a SA animal, sure, but I do not care, THIS PACK WOULD BE PEAK IF ROADRUNNER WAS PART OF IT.

I was just looking at the key art for this pack and suddenly got really thankful they revealed the coyote as the mascot rather than a silhouette, could you imagine how crazy we would be going if all we had was a vague dog-shaped shadow to go off of? I think we would still arrive at the Americas/Latin American theme either way but still at least the rhea is distinct

Have we already discussed the names this DLC could have?? I think it's an interesting cuestion because we already had a South American Pack and a North American Animal Pack.

Something like "South American Animal Pack" would be very repetitive and confusing. And anyways, we are having animals living both only in North America and only in South America. "American Animal Pack" would work in some languages but in most it would be very misleading because "American" is also (or even mostly) used as adjective for the United States country. I think that "Latin American Pack" wouldn't make sense because that's an exclusively cultural concept with nothing to do with nature.

Going for a climate or biome naming is also problematic because most that would fit have been already used (Tropical, Arid, Grassland...), and anyway the places where a rhea, a flamingo and a saki monkey live are very different.
I was thinking it could be the Pan-American Pack. That would give us access to the Caribbean as well

I added Bush Dog, Tayra, Black-footed Ferret, and North American River Otter.

I didn’t have an account yet but I did lurk the forums at the time (only actually joined after the SEA pack was announced), and I remember I stopped looking at the Australia Pack announcement thread after a while because of how sad all the dingo hate made me - they were my favourite animal in the pack, and probably still my most used animal in the game all these years later.

But this is the discussion thread for DLC 19, not DLC 3, so best we stop derailing it for now 😅 I’ve been thinking of making an in-depth retrospective for the Australia Pack for a while now, so you can wait till whenever that comes out to hear me yap an unnecessary amount about how well I think the pack holds up.
I joined much later around wetlands so missed most of the early days of the forums whats funny is that while im a dingo supporter in real life I actually didnt like it or the cassowary in the pack. I thought including the only naturalised carnivoran thats a subspecies of something we already have was a weak move when the platypus, wombat or echidna would of been better icons of Australia I also thought thought emu should been the cassowary. I overall wasnt happy at the 3 wolf subspecies in almost as many packs plus them in my opinion not giving the dingo correct taxonomy really made me not like its inclusion at first.

Looking back on it im glad the dingo was added when it was because everyone would hate getting it added now and it definitely is essential to Australia. Still think one predominantly tropical animal in the pack was a bit odd but I do agree on your assessment of the cassowary being better for diversity than the emu.

Are you trolling us or did you find that anywhere? :D So far it looks like a photographed texture.

I don't expect news today, but I really really really want some.
Usually they’ve showed 3 species on the cover of animal packs so I’ve been searching for anything that could resemble the third one.

If anybody has graphic skills maybe you can check that out on high resolution picture?

Also I noticed this... Thingamabob right here.
It does not look like any of the other flags we've seen, so it's definitely not saki, rhea, flamingo or bighorn... Then what could it be?
I have already checked this one it’s also flamingo.
