FDev, please come out and communicate your changes to us or else players will leave AGAIN!

Keeping this simple - Fdev, please come out and announce the changes/tweaks you are making to Colonisation beta!

You are simply risking alienating the fanbase and if you do, players WILL leave this wonderful game again!

Just tell us what changes you are making and make it clear, we are spending so much time planing/hauling tonnes of commodities which are at risk of being for nothing based on your changes, which in turn will put people off this feature and potential game.

Please, please, communicate what is happening and fast!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Nah, they can take a month or two easily. Maybe even sprinkle in some ARX here and there, still people will stay.
 
Not necessarily talking about myself - I'm thinking more about the future of this game and the bigger picture. Fdev are finally turning a corner and we all (at least I think) are rooting for the future of the game. Decisions like making changes to the mechanics of the beta (which has lasting implications) without communicating to us (the userbase) risks a lot. I just find it shocking that simple communication cannot be made to us on it - do they (+ we) not care?
 
With overall sentiment on forums - I don't think there would be many surprised or alienated. If FDev finally introduced the 'Undo' button - many will happily erase way too many hours of hauling by themselves.

That's interesting and sad at the same time if this is the norm. I would have thought a lot of the efforts we make (some potentially in vain) could be avoided with very simple comms/feedback. Just feels like a lot of what we collectively talk about could easily be avoided but I guess if its the norm then it's just something I'll need to accept as the normal culture.
 
Yeah it was a plea (as a fan of the game) - like when you see things that could easily help and want to communicate it

Proper forum protocol has established that you must first post an open letter to FDev followed by several final pleas, growing increasingly desperate and threatening to leave the game and forums entirely... Before continuing to play the game and comment in the forums like nothing ever happened. 😉

I think they're saving it for the Corsair patch notes, so the incredible effort of... communication with the player base only needs to be done once.

Perhaps we will even get client-side changes to show what the heck is happening with colonization economies.

I don't need anything explained. It's fun to figure things out and dial in how I do things. I am always amazed at how little most people know about how to do things in the game, when you can simply try stuff until you find out what works. It really is just that easy.

For instance, I wanted to know what shield level I needed to survive a full boost crash into a station, ship, planet, etc. So I just tested it with all my ships until I actually survived. Wrote down the info and now I know the minimum shields to fly like an idiot for each of my ships, and then proceeded to fly like an idiot for the next 5 years. So much fun.

I am now doing the same thing with colonisation. Trying to find the dumbest oddball station configurations. It's all pretty easy and fun to just randomly build nonsense wherever I can and just watch and see what happens. I have such exciting plans!

Very interesting - out of curiosity, are you engaging in much of the colonisation feature and if so, are you enjoying the self discovery elements? what have you built so far etc.
 
What I think is more important is that FDEV gets those station microtransactions on the store ASAP!

Because I doubt many will keep buying those, once they realise their systems are bricked.

They confirmed in one of the streams that station cosmetics will be available in the future.
