New ship: Panther Clipper

Basically the Panther Clipper 2 model is the Nostromo :)
This is a recently digitally reimagined landing scene from Alien and the similarities are unmistakable:

PC2 like the Nostromo?

Sorry, but totally different. The only similarity to me is they are large chunky ships that move ore about.

Well apparently if you bother the devs long enough and persistently enough ........ so, ship interiors please!

Oh, and landing on earth like worlds too.
Please no.
FDev, please don't listen to this.

One of the defining characteristics of this forum are the stalwarts who carry forth the battles, their impetus, the comfort of their presence.
Losing their drive, in exchange for something as flimsy as new gameplay features, much demanded content and improvements, only damages the forums!

Think about it:

Rubbernuke is now only a shadow of who he was.

Bigmaec's fight is also over.

Who will be next? Amigacooke?

No!

We don't want this. I speak for EVERYONE, including those who disagree!

And please, no MacOS!

So how much would it take for them to make ELW that have more plant life, etc? I don't think it would be much of a stretch, but then I don't know the game engine's capability.
Oh, I would like to see an outrageously expensive early alpha access for some landable ELW DLC with some copy-pasted plants and dinos.
It would be hilariously crappy and that would be OK - for me.

But I can imagine the outrage:
"Wooot, too expensive!"
"Lol, there's a flying tree!"
"Meh, there's a tree growing trough my ship!"
"Muh, that left front foot of that dino does not touch the ground!"
"Booo, FPS are low on my 10 year old smartphone!"
"Nah, them dinos don't even react to me. And I'm important! How dare they ignore ME!?"

There is also the very valid point that ELWs would add little to no game play.
It's a bit like ship interiors.
They would be nice to look at, but you would have to have meaningful game play loops as well - without destroying any of the QoL that e.g. the current automatic repair sytems and reboot sequence offer.

There are various games with ship interiors and meaningful gameplay. For example Wildgate. There's also concept art by Fdev in the ED Digital Art Book. Braben described gameplay mechanics years ago.

I'm pretty happy I have more time to fly around in my PANTHER CLIPPER instead of haunting the Forums lobbying for the PANTHER CLIPPER.

Ahem...
Old habits die hard.

You can get ship interiors with lots of gameplay opportunities, which doesn't tread on current mechanics.

It's probably not vastly bigger, but it definitely is bigger. It is also officially the coolest looking ship in the game with those engines, I can't wait to hear what it sounds like.

If multicrew only had visible crewmates... Something which really bothers me and there's no explanation because a teammate can actually sit in the gunner's chair. But maybe... just maybe the bridge of the Panther is the beginning of something bigger.
Given my experiences with this company, I'd not make any bets on that.

We don't know the specs yet, but imo the PC Mk II should have:
  1. 1200+ tonnes / units max cargo.
  2. Same or longer than a Beluga Liner
  3. Same or wider than a Type-9.
  4. FSD SCO optimized
  5. Class 8 power distributor
  6. Class 8 thrusters
  7. Fighter Hangar support
