What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Mostly done with refurbishing the exterior and surrounding area of the aquarium where the flamingos found their new home. Got the new pack for easter so i could even swap the modded ones for the official.

This would at the same time be such an upgrade to the original even if the fact that the og has some natural ponds filled with life is also quite charming. Pretty symbolic for one of germanys major rare amphibean breeding centers to be the best place to watch wild frogs in its city
Great job either way!

I made a Bush Dog Habitat in a Zoo somewhere in Africa...
First is the view as a Guest walks up to it. (It is supposed to be apart of a larger themed area...)

Here is the first and main of the viewing areas...

Up on the rock you can already see the zoo's two Bush Dogs. Marta on the left and her mate on the right.

Here's a better waterfall view.

and lastly here is the other viewing area, a pond that I haven't seen them use yet...

Wait, there's more! Here are a couple "behind the scenes" pics of the Bush Dogs.

The female, Marta, sniffs the camera! Whilst the, IMO more photogenic, male looks on.

That was really the last picture.

What was originally going to just be a big cat complex has morphed into Predator Plateau. The area is home to all taiga biome carnivores and acts as a bridge between the Europe and Asia sections of the zoo since the bulk of the species housed here come from those continents. I have rough outlines and the general terraforming in place for 10 habitats:

Timber Wolf
Red Fox
Grizzly Bear
Himalayan Brown Bear
Formosan Black Bear
Cougar
Eurasian Lynx
Siberian Tiger
Snow Leopard
Amur Leopard

I’m building it from the back to the front, so I started with the Timber Wolves.

A big thanks to Captain Callum for his aviary. For the past two weeks I had the idea where to put the flamingos and didn't want an "open" exhibit. His aviary however fitted in per-fect and made my life soo much easier. Though it required still some items to change/move to make sure it was fitting in with the small building. This building is also the home to the ocelot. They have two visible indoor areas and an outdoor exhibit. The flamingo exhibit is far from finished and will in the end be the home of a flock of 20-30 flamingos.

This is more "what I did in Planet Zoo these past 2 weeks" rather than today, but the interior of my "Sumatra Lodge" exhibit is finally complete (For now, at least.)

It features an indoor exhibit for Clouded Leopards (connected to a larger outdoor space; if it were a real zoo they would rotate a male and female between the two exhibits via their backstage holding, which is a WIP currently), a viewing area for the first Sumatran Tiger enclosure (also a WIP, what I'll be working on after the Clouded Leopards), a tank for Leaf Insects, and an Asian Water Monitor exhibit:

Building indoor areas is my absolute least favorite thing to do in this game so I'm looking forward to making some outdoor exhibits next. I started on the outdoor Clouded Leopard exhibit yesterday and it's coming along nicely:

This is looking so good! Very reminiscent of the Tiger habitat at Jacksonville Zoo.

Also LOVE that Clouded Leopard info board layout. Did you do that yourself?

Thank you so much! I definitely see what you mean about the similarities to Jacksonville, after looking at some photos of it. Might have to take some more inspiration from it with that whole overhead walkway for the Tigers they have going on 👀
And yes I did make that info board design, thank you! I've contemplated switching out the picture for one of a Clouded Leopard in-game, but for now I'll stick with a real one. Going to be making signs like that for every animal in the zoo, so I've got a lot of work ahead of me!

All these customs signs I see….cries in console I like that you’re using a real photo of the clouded leopard. Keep it.

My next tropical zoo I’m definitely going to try and do my own spin on the JAX Zoo tiger habitat, too.
