DLC20 Discussion (maybe, but why not?)

Honestly: I doubt Frontier would include animals in a community challenge that aren't released yet.
Not intentionally or publicly, sure. My line of thought is that it is possible that some "left hand not talking to the right hand" stuff went on. Dev team adds Bornean Elephant and Pere David's Deer to their internal list of semi-aquatic species. Unrelated to this, the website team gets instructed to prepare the next challenge page for semi-aquatic species, so they refer to the internal list without realizing that some of them may still be a work in progress, and bam. Not like the public is expected to notice this list, so perhaps there's a minimum amount of oversight and double checking. And then, of course, as long as the DLC doesn't release before the challenge, those species will naturally not be referenced in the in-game challenge.

I'm not saying that this is what happened. I'm just saying, it's probably not impossible.

That semi-aquatic thing lets me die a bit inside... Do they consider themself semi-aquatic because they take regular showers and visit a water park once in a while?
Père David's deer live in wetland habitats, makes perfect sense they have the aquatic biome tag. As to why Bornean elephants have it but not the base game's elephants, I guess it's because there's some populations that hang out near rivers?

This is possible. They also could have just added them early to prep for the announcement assuming nobody would check the "fine print." People are gonna underselling the fact that we could still get an announcement later today or tomorrow.

Could also be not at all. But who knows at this point. If we don't get an announcement before the end of June it would be one of the strangest marketing moves ever to tease an image and then not do anything for a month. LOL

What do you think is most likely?

  • Announcement later today?
  • Announcement this week (e.g. tomorrow)?
  • Announcement later and no release before the Community Challenge?

Don't troll me or kid around!

Why is that though? I just want some serious opinions.
Just because humans are humans. Playful things. It's not mean or badly intended, I'm sure. If you ask the question without asking them not to troll you, you are more likely to get a serious reply (I know this might not make sense to you, but it's just how it is) 💚 also as nobody can know the answer right now people are more likely to make silly stuff up.
