Totally disagree. I was playing for 2-3 hours making sure to not hit the mega ship and still got deleted 3 times for shooting while taking high G turns and suddenly the ship appeared behind my target. Long range weapons, so hit counted , boom dead...
Also NPCs are programmed to try to lure you into hitting the ship, a clear TRAP from FDEV side. They lose shields and run to the mega ship to hide for 20-30 seconds to get shields back up and then fight you again.. And again the same when they lose shields... This is so frustrating and time consuming....
I'm confused, are you saying the megaship suddenly 'popped in' behind your intended target (like a texture load), and when you missed the shot at your intended target you hit the megaship instead? If it is indeed 'popping in' out of the blue, that is indeed weird. But, if you are in the middle of a turn, and not keeping track of where the megaship is and it 'comes in to view' as you loose your downrange shot, that's just how the game or any scenario irl would work.
I'm also confused as to what's wrong with NPCs 'luring you in.' That is what any pilot would do? In my opinion, that's not a trap. If you were being chased down by a superior pilot, would you not try to get within range of some sort of cover until shields come back up? Personally I thought it was a neat bit of programming on FDev's part. It makes the AI less of 'batting practice' or 'fodder for multicannons.'
This is not a spray and pray scenario. (which to be clear, I also enjoy spray and pray type things, we all do I am sure, but this is not the situation for it) I've personally enjoyed having to pay a bit more attention to my surroundings, I find it more immersive. It also might direct less experienced pilots to check their loadouts, ships, and flying styles to be more appropriate for the situation.
I'd like to be clear that this is all just opinion and civil discussion, I by no means intend to negate your frustration. I'm just offering a different point of view based upon what I've seen happening.
