Slugsies ED Diary and Log app

To all intents and purposes the Diary.txt file is a CSV file. You can get to it from the menu (bottom right) select OpenLogFolder. You will then see all the files used by the EDDL to store information. They are all text files, and you can open them in any text editor. Just be careful if you edit them, there isn't currently a lot of error checking when reading them back in, so if something isn't 100% right then anything could happen.

Ya I see its separated by comma, and can deal with it just takes me more steps since I dont have Office installed. With Slopey's BPC Market Tool he has it where it can export out thought it might be something easy ;)

What I am doing is exporting it out and making it a Android App with AppSheet.com

Thanks for the great tool!

I'm not sure what extra steps it takes? You just open the file as if it was a CSV, or copy the file and change the extension to .CSV. All single step stuff, and no more onerous than it would be going through an Export to CSV dialog.

Any chance of a type filter for the Diary? I know I could just play with the .txt file but it would be really handy to, say, just be able to display all the Equipment purchases in the GUI so I can quickly see where I bought stuff and for how much.

As of Gamma 2.0 there is now no way to automatically grab the current system name. MB did warn us that it was being removed, so I'm not surprised. This does however make the automatic logging of your travels not possible at the moment. As a work around on the Diary Entry tab you can use an Entry Type of Starsystem, and then manually enter your location. The route planning part of the app is now a little superfluous because there is a route planner built into ED. However I'll leave it in for now, at least until FD make known what they plan to do for an API.

I have a couple of other minor updates to put in, so expect an update later this evening (UK time).

OK, I've knocked up a quick update that should hopefully bring things into line with Gamma 2.0. You will now need to manually enter your current system by using a Diary Entry Type of 'Starsystem'.

Download link is in the OP.

{Really going to have to do a little code refactoring, it's starting to get messy}

One request Slugsie. Could you automatically trim the Starsystem entry? Seems that sometimes there are empty lines left in the textbox and starsystem is then displayed something like "11.12.2014 19:13:06,Starsystem,Eravarenth\n" in stead of what I suspect is correct "11.12.2014 7:40:38,Starsystem,Eravarenth". Not sure what it does to heatmap...Also systems with a + sign might be an issue (displayed at heatmap site without the + sign, contact Filth about it, just a heads up in case it is an issue at your end :) )

Splendid, Frontier - get your act together and stop making life difficult off your alpha backers.

Was looking forward to testing this log today. Will find something less infuriating instead.

If you have any suggestions as to how to make it easier then by all means let me know. I'd like to figure out something a little smoother. Until there is some form of API however I think most apps will be a little hog tied.

Note that Avast Antivirus is flagging the program as suspicious, and preventing it from being download. The only way I can download it is to disable my antivirus. I'm not sure what it is about it that it doesn't like, because it doesn't find a problem if I scan the download after successfully downloading.

Sorry about that, but I have no idea what the problem could be. I don't use Avast so I have no idea how to resolve this issue. The download .exe is created by WinRAR, so not exactly unusual. Did any of the previous versions give this problem?

I haven't done any work on the EDDL over Christmas/New Year, but I do have a couple of things in mind so expect some updates in the near future.
