Patch Notes Update Gamma 2.00 incoming

Dropped the distance of AI turning up from the capitals to 500LY's from 1000LY's. AI should stop appearing that beyond that distance from the capital systems, when in uninhabited systems

Does that mean what i think it means?

  • Disallow high res screen captures when in open play and in final builds (still available in solo play)
that a strange one ???

Would be nice if there was an exception if you're the only one on an island that it would allow a high res capture, like if you're out past the back of beyond it seems silly to go to solo and back just for a screenshot ... and for private groups too (maybe have a checkbox for all members of the group to allow it, so that we can take vanity shots of each others ships with skins etc).
 
Some of my notables:

- Route planning added
- Fixing ship wear has a cost now!
- Removed all police interdictions on clean vessels
- Can press up to loop the focus to the exit/purchase buttons, instead of having to scroll through all the ship stats
- Slightly upped the chance of pirate interdiction in anarchies
- Improve the galaxy map/background. Shader now allows us to fade out the core near the glow preventing the world whiting out, map now looks fluffier and more real. Current BG brightness/look is paintained in the default playspace but will improve further out
- Removed Hauler from the commuter archetype, it's a trade vessel and confusing things
- Movie added to main menu
- Secret added

If Gamma was the start of "Release Candidate", then this is surely "RC2". Thanks for this, and I'm sure there's a list three times longer than this still kicking around...thanks for your patience (especially as we keep ticketing more and more stuff!).

The poster said it's a reasonable compromise, but it isn't if you play with friends. You can't just "hop out" and "hop back in again" can you. So no, it IS NOT (copying your use of caps lock) a workaround. Do you understand now?

Hehe, the poster was you, and you did write "...not a reasonable compromise or solution".
But yes, i can see how that effects taking social screenshots, as opposed to just taking shots of ingame objects, fair 'nuff.
I stand by my post regarding potential exploits though, i'd find it more unreasonable to allow them, in order to keep a hi-res screenshot feature.
Let's agree to disagree on thatone. ;)
 
- If a ship has a bounty with their own faction, attacking them won't make their faction hostile to you
