Gary Lineker: somebody that comes along and gets all the credit from a bounty you have been hitting for the last 10 minutes, they jusy hang around, one shot and get the credit.

Floater - A player that has had their thrusters shot to 0% but faces no enemy destruction.

There is an alternative definition for this! (snork)
-
My 3p:
Sidey - Affectionate diminutive for Sidewinder
Shake 'n Bake - For the time when your T9 gets wedged in the Toast Rack (q.v.) for too long and the station decides to put you out of your misery.
The Bubble - a 55-system sphere centred on Eranin that was a training ground for many of the current generation of pilots.

One from the "Real World" (tm pat. pend.) of mining but very appropriate in the ED universe : Rock (gah ED filter is blocking this word, noun of one who licks would be a L...er)

In the "Real World" mining game, a Rock L...er is a geologist, but in my ED mining experience it seems to be the miner who ends up "Licking Rocks" (getting too close to the asteroid)

(Historical note for the saying: certain minerals have a "taste", so it was not unusual for geologists to lick the rock in question, gave an early indication of mineral content but also had some hazards. It was not uncommon for geologists in beryllium rich areas to develop mouth cancers and needless to say licking galena does wonders for your lead levels)

Decided not to put fedsec etc, in because I'm not sure they qualify as slang/informal language.

Added to here.

Pop: To die. Believed to come from a popular fiction, unlike real life.

Zit: A lot of security turning up, often making an unseemly yellow boil on your scanner. "I was just scooping up this Onionhead when a zit turned up, I turned tail and meeped out of there."

Meep: To leave quickly. From the call of the roadrunner Escapicus Speedicus.

Rare Trading - a system of trading that involves sitting looking at a commodity screen for 20 minutes whilst listening to Dolly Parton's greatest hits, wearing a tin-foil fedora, and clicking mindlessly in the hope of a good refresh.

Bouncy Bouncy - when exiting supercruise to a station and it exits you behind the station which you then hit at speed. "Dave, I had a big bouncy bouncy with the station in my type-7 last night, thankfully I fitted shields."

Nipples - alternate name for the Fragment Cannon. *Shoots cannon* "My nipples explode with delight!"

Nipple Tassles - a turreted fragment cannon. Sometimes known as a Barbara Windsor, "Dave, I shot that Python up real good with my Barbara Windsors".

Infected - when you have wanted status and are denied docking permission. When you clear your wanted status: "I, am no longer... infected."

Lunchtime - an Ananconda with an 80,000CR bounty and no shields...

Used roided, the others are either in already (startwinder), ooc, which I'm phasing out, (pippin'd), mildly offensive - i don't mind, but the mods are demons for it- ( docked) or not slang (ETC).

Added Lunchtime, Infected (nice!) and Bouncy Bouncy.

Also:

Black Disco: The destruction of a ship in a station.

Zenoglide - the act of traveling to a place in supercruise whilst decelerating, such that your time to target remains constant even as you get ever closer, usually 0.06 seconds. Named after an old Earth philosopher who outlined a paradox that a fast runner could never catch a slow runner to whom he had given a head start, as it would take time to make up the distance travelled in ever smaller amounts.

Yeah, it was a perfect zenoglide all the way into the dock, didn't need to double back once.

I love words.

We need a dictionary of terms in Elite Dangerous, particularly those coined specifically for E D.

Feel free to add a new one you've heard or made up. Can't guarantee that it will become common parlance, but you never know...

A few I've heard/made up. When I get more, I'll update the OP to fill them up. Maybe get a sticky, if we get lucky.

Don't know if it's been mentioned here but I just read in another thread "VanDamage" for taking damage from ship to ship collision LOL
