How the hell do I tell the game, that when I put my little throttle lever to a certain position, that my ship flies with that amount of speed?

Pull your throttle all the way down, then go to Options - Controls - Flight Throttle - Throttle Axis - click on the button and push your throttle up, the game should now recognize the axis and you are set.

Also when I put it all the way down, my ship should be at a hold and not go into reverse throttle.

You need to set the throttle up as "forward only" and then use a button on the throttle for reverse, either as "HOLD" or "TOGGLE".

Is my x52 Pro broken out of the box? I just received it, and everything works except the Boost button. I downloaded the newest drivers from Saitek, and in the calibration test everything works there. But, in game the "i" button for boost doesn't work with any binding.

I got the Boost to work by remapping it to another button, but the button originally mapped to that function doesn't work for anything assigned to it.

Hope some of the current x52 gurus can help/ have seen this.

Thanks

Certain input devices do not seem to recognise certain keys as Bindable. In my case I have to rebind "home" and "insert" for cargo scoop and landing gear to a letter or punctuation mark because my multi button mouse does not recognise them for some reason, maybe the same for your joystick.

If I get chance I will rebind my boost to mouse and see if I get the same results.

Thrustmaster fan here! bought just for ED as I'm not a die-hard flight sim player. Nice solid build and particularly like the fact that the unit fits together as one piece...perfect for sitting back in the armchair and resting the whole thing on my knee :)
Lazy flying at it's best!!

Actually while this is true, x52 is also on the otherhand known for having quality issues. I won't be surprised if it wasn't working to start with.

If you got money, go for x55 or higher. If not, go for T.Flight X HOTAS. x52 is really not worth the money eitherway imo.

Currently running with mouse and keyboard here. Plan to get a Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS X (can't justify spending more than £30-£40 for the sake of one game) just as soon as I find somewhere that has the bloody thing in stock at a reasonable price... Everywhere seems to be out atm :(

hope i get a good one! picking it up tomorrow! lol

he did mention though that the configuration software did pick up the button being pressed.

i use my PS4 pad as im disabled with the use of one arm so its the only way i can play. as i cant use the keyboard and mouse but the pad is perfect. i use it in conjunction with the keyboard.

I wish i could use the flight stick and throttle control though.

Just be very careful with it. I had to glue mine back together already, though I don't use it that much. The upper/left coolie hat broke off.

Using VKB's Fat Mamba joystick + T-Rudder pedals.
Considering controls on the joystick's base (switches, knobs, etc.), it provides decent alternative to a full HOTAS setup.

I'm using the Mad Catz Fly 5 Flight Stick and gotta say it is a pleasure, button setup is bob on and the device itself makes life so much easier. Only been using it a coulple of days but I would find it hard not to have it now.
