Broken my old record for oldest neutron star. Actually I've smashed it !!!

7,344 Million Years.

It's also the lightest with 0.5664 solar masses. Owzat :D

Figure I might as well start the "systems with the most inhabited planets" category (3, though I'm sure others out there have much more).

I find a lot of the "system with the most population" categories a bit silly, to be honest. It's a bit like crediting the first guy to claim that Oslo is the largest city in Norway. That's not discovery, that's reading the galaxy map. :p

Even from a technical standpoint they are 'records' that cannot be broken. By that measure I could submit "system with the most Earths in it."

rooooh we can list water-world now? :)
I had so many of those and I was waiting for a good earth-like... but then I might have a "Lightest Water world" with 0.9305 earth masses so we start somewhere :

[img=http://s21.postimg.org/49wztwnqb/Screenshot_0014.jpg]

(it's also the smallest for now at 5,945 km though that will surely not be for long)

perhaps we should have a category for water-world with ring? In which case I have the smallest (at 7,279 km) and lightest (with 1.8425 earth masses) water world with ring = HIP 30538 A 4

I need to think about your new category for a bit "systems with the most inhabited planets" needs a better name to make it more obvious, should it include earth like and water worlds? just indigenous life? maybe just gas giants with life? probably needs a few categories. Btw the galaxy is supposed to be able to change so I expect system population to change at some point, who knows the great factions could collapse leading to widespread famine.
you could submit system with most earth like worlds if you want :D

will add water world with ring when I get back from work

I would like to nominate Synuefai YE-H C13-0 planet 1 as smallest and lightest water world
with a radius of 3751 km and a weight of 0.2106 earth masses.

Hello fellow explorers

I have a question to all of you:
regarding this "Deepest nesting of a stellar body - 245 G. Carinae A 5 A is a 3rd-tier stellar body - Jhyrryl"

I think it's great... I found another 3rd-tier star too recently... but now I find this :

[img=http://s23.postimg.org/6tpjuupbb/Untitled_5.jpg]

and I'm not sure what to do of it... does it mean the two bottom suns are both considered 3rd-tier stellar bodies? or is it more like there is a 4th-tier star (and maybe even a fifth) somewhere here...? because it is a star orbiting a star, which orbits a star orbiting a star, which orbits a star no? :D

last but not least, I'd like to propose a contender for the "lightest body" at 0.0010 earth masses =

I geuss i found a new cathagory to add to the record books the water giant, this one being the first i find in over 2000 systems visited.

so claiming first, largest, smallest, heaviest and lightest

water giant

weight

earthmasses: 153.8736

size

radius: 24,626 km

surface temp 147k

98,4 % made out of water

planet name is wredguia MI-K D8-21 a 13 ( I declare it planet Poseidon)

intresting fact , this system has a total of 27 stellar boddys 16 gas giants one water giant and some water worlds and rocks but none of em have a ring

"Most planets with life in a single system" was what I was getting at. I'm not really particular about the type of planets nor life, but it's your call. ;)

That's a fairly standard quinary system: a trinary in binary with another binary. While there is nesting involved for display purposes, none of those stars are orbiting any of the others: they are all orbiting barycentric centers of gravity for their system / subsystem. So what we should probably have is a category: Most Barycentric Stars in a System. In this case: 5.

I'd do 3 categories:

Most Extraterrestrial Life-Bearing Planets (All)
Most Extraterrestrial Life-Bearing Gas Giants
Most Extraterrestrial Life-Bearing Terrestrial Planets

I haven't added this one yet as I have a feeling there might be some with 0.0 earth masses, I need to check back through the thread when I get a chance

I geuss i found a new cathagory to add to the record books the water giant,

added but this list is getting hard to read I need to rearrange it, also I posted helium rich gas giants at LHS 531 earlier in this thread I never seen any others, the system is already explored so you can check them on your gal map

I'd do 3 categories:

Most Extraterrestrial Life-Bearing Planets (All)
Most Extraterrestrial Life-Bearing Gas Giants
Most Extraterrestrial Life-Bearing Terrestrial Planets

these will have to be in uninhabited systems as its hard to tell what is alian life or not for example Vega has an earth like world with indigenous life whilst in Arcturus indigenous life has been wiped out and replaced says so in the system description anyway

Gas giants(with life), Ammonia worlds, earth like and water worlds all have life I believe (have I missed any?) so:

"System with the most life bearing bodies" I will also add "System with most life bearing Gas Giants" and "System with the most life bearing bodies(non gas giant)"

This is pretty cool, no idea if it takes any records

nice system compare with the first post to see if you have any records

Most Barycentric Stars in a System - do all the stars have to be orbiting a barycentric center of gravity? not the same as System with most binary stars, I too tired I'm off to bed
