It seems the keypad numbers don't work in the entry fields on the Trading screen (cargo capacity and min profit).

It's not exactly urgent, but it is a bit peculiar :)

I don't suppose you could have the cargo space in the settings file too? Or even better be able to add a few presets and it populate with the last used?

Other tweaks that may be good:

  • When one is adding a new station via right click, could it select the highlighted station's system? - This would be handy when creating several stations. I have 100+ stations in my file so scrolling is cumbersome and typing increases the chance of error/duplicates.
  • Swap the Journal and New Entry Buttons with Edit Station Notes - As one is setting up a new station the notes are part of the flow while the journal is revisited later.

Obviously after you get some play time in!

Good morning.

I guess it would have helped if I gave a status report of what I got done last night before going to bed. I kept working on it after pushing 2.0a out.

There's now a settings.txt. All the window position stuff has been moved into there, and I added a bunch of other stuff, more specifically the status of all the checkboxes on the commodities window and the trade window (as well as saving off min profit and cargo and auto-search). With this broken up like this it will make it much easier for me to save off things.

I got a bunch of other things going on today; but my goal really is to get to play the game. :p

Not sure if already reported, but searches "to anywhere" in the trading window don't search within the origin system. More luv for in system trading needed.

Even if you uncheck "system to system"? Cos it seems to work for me.

I am loving v2.0 - it's proving very helpful and super flexible - many many thanks for this.

A few things that I've noticed:

. In the trading form I'd really like if it remembered the state of the 'Show Unknown Profit' and 'System to System' check boxes - the default are the reverse of my normal usage - or could you just reverse the defaults?
. When pressing the 'Arrive' button for the log could you get rid of the 'you didn't leave...' warning? As I never remember to press 'Depart'... :)
. In the commodity list I'd really like if it remembered the state of the 'Hide None' check box, or defaulted to this being checked?

None of these are anything other than how I use the app - so please feel free to ignore.

Arch, seems you may have missed this one the other day. Obviously, the swap has been added (thanks :) ) but the checkboxes are still all exclusive. Even without prices, it would be helpful to show pairs of stations that have matching HS-HD pairs both directions.

As I never fill in prices, it would make more sense for me to be able to set both Classic Mode and Round Trip at the same time (right now I can't use Round Trip, because I don't have prices). If this is intentional, a button to swap From and To in one go would be a great feature to have :)

I only just now *found* this little utility and at first glance it looks like it could be really handy. The sad part is I have no real clue how to use it, what does what and what info goes where and when and in what order. I don't suppose anyone had done a short video on how to properly use this tool, what all the fields are, what's recorded and the normal process used to get stuff in and out of the tool - I'd love to see it.

Clearly this has evolved and for someone just getting on the wagon it seems a little mysterious.

I move around quite a bit from one area to the next, so I have entered a lot of systems.

In the old version the system list was by default in the entry order which is handy for me as all the most current systems are grouped at the bottom.

Unfortunately in version 2.0a the list is by default ordered by system name and no way to get the entry order.
Please at least don't change the order in the results list for 'need'/'have' searches without some way of filtering for some 'current group property'.

These were actually made to be exclusive. But I can see how people might want results even without profit. It would take a bit more work to make the other flavors of search. I'm assuming you guys want something like "Round Trip, Classic Mode"

Thanks for the update. Another issue I see is that if the Commodities window is open you can't type the hot key letters c, n, d, t in any Custom Fields.

Also, I'd like to have check boxes like the Black Market for station facilities - Commodities, Outfitting, Ship Yard, Repair, Refuel, Re-arm. Or Custom check boxes, if you like.

Yes please.. that'd rock my world. I've never bothered putting in the prices - too much like hard work - so I'm "classic mode" all the way. :) (How did my preferred method become "retro" in such a short time?)

One more... could you add an option to make the trading window "stay on top" as well?

By the by, if you're interested - I could *try* make a linux version (it's the comp I use for forum etc while playing ED with Windoze in other monitors).
