Immersion breaking NPC names

NPC that borrow (not nod, let's face it) from popular culture. Immersion breaking or not?

You are allowed to name your kids or yourself after famous people (with hilarious notable exceptions) in the real world, so what's the problem?

Many names are just silly(who am i to even say that..lol) - but apparently players could name npc´s early on - some are good... some are bad :)

Like Flash Gorgon...

How can it be immersion breaking. For that you would have to know for a fact what people are likely to call themselves in a few millennia?

Some backers paid enough towards the funding of the game to name an NPC .. if they chose an 'immersion' breaking name that was their choice and it won't change.. so I would say just get used to them :)

Turns out... he never died. That body was a clone. He was beamed to space and he is now a pirate! What an ending! They should have dropped us a hint at least... was shocked to find Jax in space... 1000 years into the future!

The names of NPC can be names from whatever CMDRS have picked for themselves to keep the chances of running into the same named NPC over and over lower.

I was actually chuffed to see my evil twin in the Newsletter recently :D
