The amount of money people get so quick in the game surprises me. I not over 100.000 and I'm playing for a week now. I have to say that the bountyhunting isn't really paying off at the moment, but it's fun to do.
Some people think that the fun is in watching the credit balance go up b/c that means they can get into what is perceived as the best combat ship. If you are having fun bounty hunting, keep doing that and ignore your balance.
I've got a bout 3 million in liquid credits and probably another 10-15mil sunk into my fleet of ships. This after playing the game since the opening of Gamma (didn't wipe at release) w/o ever feeling like grinding. I bounty hunt, a-b-a trade, rare trade, mine, explore, and take missions interchangeably. I never do the same thing for too long and have never felt hard pressure to get anything better/bigger/more expensive than a Cobra or T6. When my balance is big enough to buy two at full price, I'll probably get an Asp to replace my exploration Adder, but that is the extent of my plans for now.
As for the little nerf here, I think it is welcome. The Python just turns too well for its size...being essentially a gunboat, it should require at least minimal fighter support if going into any engagement more challenging than farming NPCs. Just my, very unimportant, opinion.
