Finally got around the issue with macros disabled: (Regedit Fix)

To work around this issue, disable antivirus scanning on encrypted files that contain macros. To do this, follow these steps:
Exit the 2007 Office programs.
Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
Locate following registry subkeys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Excel\Security

On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
Type the following value names on the registry subkey that you clicked and then press ENTER:
ExcelBypassEncryptedMacroScan

Right-click the DWORD value that you created in step 4, and then click Modify.
In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
On the File menu, click Exit to exit Registry Editor.

Now I get the following error on Launch: compile error in hidden module diesearbeitsmappe

Any Ideas???

EDIT: Got It Working..... V1.05 at least.

Un-installed TCE and re-installed TCE V1.05 Full install and it works perfectly now.
If I copy and paste the V1.06 or V1.08 updates into TCE I get the compile error in hidden module diesearbeitsmappe error.

Brilliant,

finally got it to work,

cheers Reaper7

Please check the following: Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Content Tab > Certificates

There should be a entry for TCE in TrustedPublisher, TrustedRoot and Intermediate. When not, try prestart.bat in the TCE folder again, or install it manually in each named area.

Checked all those, and they are present:

Thought I had it working after getting the Macro issue sorted, but TCE hangs on the menu.

Windows 7 64Bit
Office 2007 SP3

Elite Install Dir:
C:\Elite Dangerous\

TCE Install Dir:
C:\Elite Dangerous\TCE

finally got it to work,

Glad the RegEdit worked for you, that one had me pulling my hair out to get working. Even downgraded from Windows 10 (TechPreview) back to Windows 7 with no change.

Microsoft gives out a 60-day trial of Office 2013, including Excel 2013.

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-office-professional-plus-2013

When I load in Excel 2013, I get: "Compile error in hidden module: Panel_DB_Stars. This error commonly occurs when code is incompatible with the version, platform, or architecture of this application."

Based on documentation below, this could be as easy as a 32-bit compiled app vs Office 64-bit:

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/gg251410(v=office.15).aspx

To all who experience errors, please give me a screenshot of what TCE's state is or what you have entered before the error showed up. In addition please tell me your Office version. Thanks.
Using Excel 2010 v14.0.4734.1000 32-bit (no idea what SP it is, I just let windows updates take care of it, and it says it's up to date).

Getting this error when clicking on "Wine" in the tables.

I've also noticed some market entries that get duplicated to other non-relevant entries, will try to track it down.

Just a minor graphic issue: stock amount cuts off a zero in the market entry table when there are "fat" numbers added in (like 800 or 999). I'm using 1920 resolution.

If there would be a way to minimize the top menu on demand that'd be great, I'm having quite a bit of difficulty flying my ship (almost crashed my ship and got pinched for the first time for smuggling) since I have some of the controls bound to my mouse and they stop responding in the game when they are in the overall.

First of all great work!

I tested it with 1.05 until 1.08 but usually ran into Runtimeerror 9 after adding stations and their comodities. Unfortunately TCE won't start anymore so i have to reinstall it. Is there a chance to enter the debug mode or reload the last backup of the database?

I'm not quite sure what caused the error but i think you mentioned that not all station types have been added or something like that breaks TCE when viewing the station commodity table.
Without debug its a little bit frustrating loosing all entries :-/

I'm using win7 with MO 2007 SP3 (german).

Fantastic looking tool.....unfortunately, I couldn't test it much due to some bugs.

1.Upon loading, it told me the database is read-only so it doesn't remember the Log directory location, nor can I add/change any data.
2.When clicking around the various menus I got a type mismatch error 13....sorry, I don't remember which button I clicked when it happened......possibly the Database button, which again could be due to read-only access.
3.Widescreen support.....I use a 5040x1050 resolution......the main top bar menu appears on the far left of the screen, and there were info panels appearing towards the far right....I'm guessing its using absolute zero for the start, which would be top left, and then spreading the rest out. Ultra widescreen users tend to prefer the center of the screen to hold all the pertinent data and the peripherals to be eye candy......could the app not divide the available resolution by 3 to find the middle ground, or at least an option for doing so so that the GUI appears in the centre.

Again, great looking tool, which I hope to be able to use.....sorry I didn't have more time to troubleshoot right now.

Check the thousand and decimal values under Regional and language options in your control panel. I got the same with UK settings but as soon as I switched the thousand separator from , to . and the decimal from . to , I could save commodities.

Please check, if the error strikes when using Finding Commodity too (in your case Wine). The zero cut will be fixed in the next version. I didnt enter millions of stocks. 999.000 are enough for me, but not for all of you.

TCE makes a backup at the first start of the day. Its in the backup folder of TCE. Extract it back into DB folder, so no need to install it again, if database crashes.

Please check the database file in the DB folder of TCE. If there is a key at the icon of TCE.mdb or Config.mdb you can make a copy of it, delete the old file and rename the copy back. Positioning of panels comes with the V1.10.

To avoid data loss caused by crashed TCE, i create archive from TCE\DB directory files and restore it after crash.
Mainly crashes occured during commodity price update (up on save button click), also when unknown system is visited and i have to put system distance to 4 another systems before saving new system.
I have found option that hides that dialog when not important for me system is visited, so problem is solved until i need to visit systems outside my route.

btw i am using Office 2007 SP3 English.

Releasing Update (V1.10):
- Bugfix in Trade Scout panel
- Manual positioning of all panels (including Main panel). All panels got a new button on the top left side. Click on it and you can edit the X or Y position. Main panel positioning is found in the Config panel.
- Added Panel.mdb to the DB folder. All positions are stored there. This database is open to edit manually in case of panel positions out of screen.

I plan to release a developer version of TCE. It grants full access of the source code. I have to adjust some things and clearing old stuff. Also its easier for you all in case of error reporting.
Perhaps some makes it OpenOffice and Office 2013 compatible. Help is welcome.

Has anyone been able to record this in action?
Just give it a shot, it is worth it! There do seem to be a few rough edges still and as an EliteOCR user I find it fairly annoying to have to go back to manual entry but it is early days yet.

I don't know about OpenOffice but as soon as I sort the SSD drive freezes on my second partition out I should be able to put Office 2013 on it to help test. I can probably look at implementing an OCR csv import too and maybe look at the localisation issue.

I think its possible, but it kills the immersion for me to alt-tab out and in again and again. In the early days of Premium Beta stage i integrated the marketdata screen scanner from andreas. That was really cool to have, but after the ban i changed back to manual input. If it is possible to start a phyton routine from TCE to scan data without using EliteOCR application and importing that data into TCE, that would be great.

Well as i live in germany my system settings for thousand separator and decimal are like suggested.
But i still get the mismatch type errors everywhere.

It kills immersion for me too but I got so frustrated tapping all of the data into my phone (err, portable trade assistant) I finally gave up and started with the OCR. I only got a few stations entered with TCE before I was itching for OCR again :)

Being able to scan without tabbing out was discussed in the EliteOCR thread but it was decided that any way of automating the screenshots would be clumsy at best and you would have to interact with the client somehow to capture all the rows which is not allowed. The API being discussed here will hopefully make market data, and a lot more, easily available to you if it gets implemented.
