Collisions will be main cry generator of 1.1
I'm crying already and can't even download the patch yet. This is totally absurd at its best.
I'm going to make a simple point:
The game is hard and slow paced when it comes to progression...you have to put hours and hours to make credits so you can have the desired ship with its upgrades and all. You have to put yourself through whatever the game let you do (missions, trading, bounty hunting...etc) and yet sometimes you make little mistakes like while landing and hitting the dock in a hurry, and that just maybe because you have to leave to do something (at home, go to work or whatever, you name it) and you have to do things "quick".
Now with that said imagine this...in my personal experience with the game I'm kinda slowly progressing to get my ASP (have the money yet don't have the amount needed to make good upgrades to it). I'm trading a lot with my Type 6, sometimes making a lot of missions at the same time...3 sometimes even 5 hours of game time of my real life time. (always have that in mind, while you play life is passing by as well...)
So I make some mistakes sometimes, damaging my ship a couple of times while landing in a hurry or by a simple mistake, or even while getting out of stations once you cross with a Type 9 or whatever. (of course have in mind I'm using stations every 3 minutes going from one to another like maybe the majority of us trying to advance in the game using the "safest" route)
Imagine that I install 1.1 and make one of those minor mistakes but instead of not damaging my ship at all or barely loosing some energy of my shield...now my ship will explode in an instant? Will it be fare for me?
I'm careful all the time, I take the game as if I'm actually in the world, in that ship...yet as I said I could live with the idea of someone destroying my ship in an interdiction or by having a massive impact against an asteroid while mining, a station or even a bigger ship than mine.
This game sometimes feels more like a job than a game...you have to put A LOT of hours into it, you have to use your imagination if you really want to keep playing it day after day because aside from what everyone knows the game doesn't have a lot of variety when it comes to actual game-play mechanics. (and don't take this wrong Frontier, this is a fact and you know that)
I don't know...I swear if I take my ship maybe tomorrow after finally downloading 1.1 and then while doing what I am doing (trading a lot between 2 stations on and on), and then just because I have a minor impact while landing or whatever my ships explodes or something...I won't be playing this game any more.
I know I won't be missed, you have my money already and won't ask for a refund simply because I know "my" problem with this is a little bit "silly" (like changing something that worked great to something that is totally broken).
So there you go...yes for the very first time I have to say something negative about the game.
PS: As any engineer would say "if something works, never change it".
And as a personal note...Life is hard enough to come at home to play a game...and again have a hard time in it. Just no, I don't like that.
Sorry if I sound like overreacting but after checking those videos I found that absurd. The very first days of the game, a couple of friends and I tried the physics (we love simulators of all kind and physics in gaming) we used flight assists off and then push one to another to check the zero gravity and the details that were put into that and were amazed by it...you could push a space ship if you did it gently and then saw how it went through the vast space...now that is missing. Not cool if you ask me.
