Help! my download speed is so slow here in North Korea!!!

:p
Over here in Brazil it's allright, 1.28Mb/s of average download, think it'll take about 30 to 40 minutes to patch it.

But i'm getting quite terrified with all the people saying ships now don't have enough power to supply the modules/systems, and how many are also complaining about sudden crashes of client.

Hope is just isolated incidents... =/

Is it me, or did they break joystick support?

I was playing last night just fine. Now, only 1 of my joysticks (thrustmaster TM1600) is detected by the game (I was not using for ED).

Last night, was using CH fighter stick, throttle, and saitek pedals just fine. Today, after 1.1 patch, only the TM1600 is detected by the game.

Power Increase on Modules

This is my first post. I have played since the Beta. I have been left frustrated by the increase in power requirements of the various modules since the introduction of v1.1. I took on a mission to deliver x to station y. No change there. I get intradicted , no problem there, just another npc to whack. To my complete surprise all my systems shut down. By the time I realise what's going on I'm dead in the emptiness of space. I reboot my new ship with all the bright shinny things contained therein and notice that the power draw has gone up from 15.? to 18.?, I can only handle 17. If there had been a note easily assessable when I logged in to advise me of the changes, perhaps I could of avoided the 350,000 insurance claim, the 20,000 fine for failing to deliver and the 300,000 cargo I had in the back of my rig. Good communication to your customer base is what separates the good from the not so good. I will accept it this time, I might not be so willing to accept it in the future. I love the game but I am left disappointed by a few avoidable issues. Make the changes come onto my screen when I load up, then if I choose not to read them, I've been given the opportunity to do so.
I am not best pleased, but I won't stop playing your wonderful product, at least not yet!

Live 1.1
Nudged the station entryway at very low speed (just got first HOTAS so I am being cautious until I am more experienced). Shields instantly down and my Cobra destroyed with two bumps. In 1.0 I have collided with the stations with a far greater force and never even lost my shields. I hope this is not intended. I should just buy a sidewinder and practice docking until I get my eye in.

Right, that does it. As good as some of the features are, I am parking E: D till this is fixed.

...and we're going to be seeing the bump griefing in Live 1.1 that was reported in Beta 1.1...

Is anyone else having really bad download speeds been downloading since 16:00 GMT and it is about 1/2 way.
Firewall off
Virus checker off

Yes. I hope Frontier are going to address their distribution technology at some point, as it's vastly slower than all the popular game distribution platforms and I am extremely unhappyto see that that people are feeling the need to disable vital security software, placing themselves at risk of data loss/identity theft/etc, to try to speed it up.

Collisions will be main cry generator of 1.1

I'm crying already and can't even download the patch yet. This is totally absurd at its best.

I'm going to make a simple point:

The game is hard and slow paced when it comes to progression...you have to put hours and hours to make credits so you can have the desired ship with its upgrades and all. You have to put yourself through whatever the game let you do (missions, trading, bounty hunting...etc) and yet sometimes you make little mistakes like while landing and hitting the dock in a hurry, and that just maybe because you have to leave to do something (at home, go to work or whatever, you name it) and you have to do things "quick".

Now with that said imagine this...in my personal experience with the game I'm kinda slowly progressing to get my ASP (have the money yet don't have the amount needed to make good upgrades to it). I'm trading a lot with my Type 6, sometimes making a lot of missions at the same time...3 sometimes even 5 hours of game time of my real life time. (always have that in mind, while you play life is passing by as well...)

So I make some mistakes sometimes, damaging my ship a couple of times while landing in a hurry or by a simple mistake, or even while getting out of stations once you cross with a Type 9 or whatever. (of course have in mind I'm using stations every 3 minutes going from one to another like maybe the majority of us trying to advance in the game using the "safest" route)

Imagine that I install 1.1 and make one of those minor mistakes but instead of not damaging my ship at all or barely loosing some energy of my shield...now my ship will explode in an instant? Will it be fare for me?
I'm careful all the time, I take the game as if I'm actually in the world, in that ship...yet as I said I could live with the idea of someone destroying my ship in an interdiction or by having a massive impact against an asteroid while mining, a station or even a bigger ship than mine.

This game sometimes feels more like a job than a game...you have to put A LOT of hours into it, you have to use your imagination if you really want to keep playing it day after day because aside from what everyone knows the game doesn't have a lot of variety when it comes to actual game-play mechanics. (and don't take this wrong Frontier, this is a fact and you know that)

I don't know...I swear if I take my ship maybe tomorrow after finally downloading 1.1 and then while doing what I am doing (trading a lot between 2 stations on and on), and then just because I have a minor impact while landing or whatever my ships explodes or something...I won't be playing this game any more.

I know I won't be missed, you have my money already and won't ask for a refund simply because I know "my" problem with this is a little bit "silly" (like changing something that worked great to something that is totally broken).

So there you go...yes for the very first time I have to say something negative about the game.

PS: As any engineer would say "if something works, never change it".

And as a personal note...Life is hard enough to come at home to play a game...and again have a hard time in it. Just no, I don't like that.

Sorry if I sound like overreacting but after checking those videos I found that absurd. The very first days of the game, a couple of friends and I tried the physics (we love simulators of all kind and physics in gaming) we used flight assists off and then push one to another to check the zero gravity and the details that were put into that and were amazed by it...you could push a space ship if you did it gently and then saw how it went through the vast space...now that is missing. Not cool if you ask me.

Michael, first of all thank you , and big thanks for the whole FD team. But couln't we choose a color of our decals in future some time? I have a "pirate skin" on my python, and "poison" green skull decal is not pretty at all :(
