Generally - just patience people. The update log looks excellent and I can't wait to try it out.

Launcher issues - clear A LOT of people are all trying to repeatedly login and/or update at the same time... just give it some time.

Taken around 15 attempts, but I am finally downloading the update after many "unexpected response", crashes and other errors. (Almost finished already - only taken a couple of minutes).

Given we're all SO KEEN to get back in should hopefully indicate how popular the game is - surely we can all wait a few minutes?

Great job and thank you to the dev team - I would have been a backer if only I'd realised the game was in development!!

As for oh but now there working over time.... That's FDEV's business if you look back there have been times when patches have continued to roll out over the course of nearly 24 hours.. we don't know the work agreements between FDEV and it's staff not to mention that FDEV has 2 Studios in 2 different time zones last time I checked.

For old-school coders the day has only just begun. All the best code is written between sun-down and sun-up.

okay, i'm back in game but have the spinning ship bug when starting. came out of supercruise when it crashed due to the hotfix. is my save broken?
do i really have to spend time with my family now? guys?

That's not how softare Engineering works

Guys, are you unable to read? The launcher *will* be useless right now - Frontier is making some changes behind the scenes... just give it a little while.

If Frontier is making changes behind the scenes, they should be behind the scenes. You don't completely hack apart a working product and take it offline to do this.

At the moment the whole game crashes completely, and it has for some while. What has happened to basic things like concurrency and stagger? This sort of outage is not the sort of thing anyone's software design processes should even begin to allow except possibly in the cases of serious outage. This is not something people put up with in any other gaming scenario, or any other online environment. If there is a problem, then back off to the old version, sort out the problem offline, and release a +.1 when it is fixed and tested.

Part of the beta should have been to properly fix the underlying software release process so this sort of thing just can't happen.

That's not exactly true, Slacker.
Best code is written within 5h after you should have gone to bed, and 1h before you fell asleep

...then you have the whole next day to wonder what the hell you wrote for the last hour...

Going though hyperspace can take a long time - some jumps take 30 seconds, others are taking minutes. Previously it only took about 10 seconds

Spinny ship of doom atm, launcher is starting the game and can select Start /Open play

I got the same...endless spinning ship on loading screen. Both updates - 1.1 and 1.1.0.1 - went smooth, if a little slow. Launcher shows version "V 2015.02.10.57276 0.4.2023.0"
