I have now flown a bit with 1.1 and have a few questions. Are there better textures to other planets also. Feels like all the planets I have seen in 1.1 have higher res textures and before it was blurrier. Maybe it just feels like it or there is some change in lod system. Where can I change to cockpit color scheme? I didn't find anything from options. Is npc AI better in 1.1? I was experimenting my new load out with my cobra. 2x d2 fixed beams and 2x gimballed cannons. Deadly eagle interdicted me and got my hull down to 40 percent before I blasted him. He was evading my fixed beams very nicely and let me have everything he had. When flying in 1.07 I never had this kind of experience. Gimballed beams are too expensive right now for me so I guess it's back to gimballed pulse.

I had this problem before that anything bigger than eagle escaped to supercruise before I could blast them with pulses and multicannons even if I flew just about 10 meters from them. With d2 beams and cannons I can shred them all into pieces but smaller fighters are really hard to hit, like this deadly eagle.

I made two collisions with npc ship after I had updated to 1.1 and did not explode. Other collision took my shields out but there was only one ring left. Other collision did not even take my shields out. It feels that collision bug is not affecting every cmdr. I have not tested that scraping bug though. 1.1 feels really good. Thx alot.

We're working on a few priority issues and in particular the excessive collision damage issue. I don't have an eta for a fix, but once we have it we'll release an update.

This is good news. Think a lot of people are steering clear of it for the moment, so the sooner the better. Thanks for the update.

OK, downloaded, played it - all fine... except for my python, which still blows up as soon as I slightly touch a capital ship :D

They didnt fixed that in 1.1 release ? What a joke................ I will not play until this is fixed, I don't want to loose millions and millions in assurance or cargo.
I suppose it's the same with your point defense shooting your own missiles.

Thanks for the update. Can't wait to take out my Python again to see the improvements. Currently far too afraid to do so :)

THX for the update. The reports of the issues with collision damage made me stop playing, don´t wanna lose my hard earned Clipper that I am currently working on and trading to pimp everything to the max.

Well, at least that made me watch some films to the end that I previously never finished, in a way suiting the situation:

Frazettas "Fire and Ice" - how I felt reading the collision damage issue
"Hamburger Hill" - it was much to late to go to the shooting range to get rid of my aggressions when I realized I would not be able to earn FSD A5 this evening... :D

Experienced this last night (not to my disadvantage) - A clipper I was bounty hunting got rammed by an Anaconda, hell of a smash - I got the bounty though :)

Here's the video clip (apologies for my taste in music :))

ever since the hotfix i' m getting stuck in hyperspace. Please tell me you're working on it, its unplayable

Sorry, are you saying an A power generator on an Anaconda cannot power a modest set of weapons? Are you able to clarify the weapons you had? You haven't got multiple shield cells have you?

No, they said they were in a VIPER. It has always been a fine balancing act to power weapons on a viper.

thats to bad about the Python was the only really good ship in the game almost makes me want to quit playing. Nerfing the good things in a game really cause a lot of players to leave!
You can be glad with this weaker nerf. First they completely destroyed the ship and all of it's possibilities. But now it seems to me like a gift to the PvP criebabies, compensable by very good piloting skills.

Don't get me wrong. Ater all I still don't think that a ship this expensive (even with repairing, etc.) should be weakened in any way.

I started the game, after release and learned my lessons. I learned to flee, if there is a Python around. I learned to have respect. I mean those C3 guns are nearly as big as a small ship... And don't forget the effort you have to put in this game, to get a Python. If all this effort isn't rewarded in any way, where is the point in doing all this?

Thinking about that, I'm back in my Cobra. Currently a bad fitted Cobra with pulse and burst lasers (power drain, heating) can take down ANYTHING. No heating problems, best speed, cheap to afford, cheap in insurance cases, cheap in keeping it flying and it packs quite a punch.

Why even consider flying a Python if there is no benefit at all? (And think carefully, there IS NO benefit at all). Every activity in this game is very good manageable with other cheaper ships. For what you want to do, you change your fitting anyway, so there is no need, to have every scanner possible equipped (no need for a detailed surface scanner, if you don't explore on your route)...

Only if you plan to fill your cargo, interdict someone on your trade route, scan him, explore a bit, have some fights against NPCs before delivering your goods.

But fighting with fully loaded cargo? Exploring with fully loaded cargo (interdictions)? Shield-cells vs. cargo capacity?

Long story short: No benefit from flying a Python (at the moment).

Out of interest, is anyone seeing the collision issues with smaller ships, all the talk seems to suggest it's only T9s and the like...

I tried bashing a sidewinder into a station in the training missions last night, and it seemed OK!?

Thx Michael, keep it up! :)

Are you also looking into the 'Universal Carotgraphics Crash to desktop' issue?
I have a lot of data to sell from my exploration trip before the update. But when I open 'UC' as soon as it shows the data to sell (fraction of a second) a crash to desktop occurs. Seems others have the same problem.

But I understand the collision thing is more urgent :)
