Rammers at George Lucas Station

I've just been there and was rammed twice (once by each); didn't kill me but my shields were greatly reduced. I watched as the Cobra was firing at an Anaconda (a known name in GalNet lists) who was just ignoring it. Decided to shoot the Cobra myself to see what happened (got plenty of credits so wasn't particularly bothered about costs incurred). Someone else knocked him as I was getting in close. I opened fire and the station ripped me a new one before I could do any real damage to the Cobra. I should have waited until my shields were fully recharged and had a bit more time firing. 88% hull damage is a mere scratch.

Here is what you do if you have the money. Get a vulture with good shields and ram him back. Then have a friend take him out with 4 rail guns. One dead Cobra.

I think that warning people on approach is a good idea, until such time (hopefully) that FD gives them the ole heave ho....if they are deprived of their "fun" they will become bored and log off and/or move on. That is unless they get some jollies off of depriving people from using the station in open play and forcing them in to solo to use it. At any rate these people are either immature kiddies or missing some genetic bits, and should be treated as such.

I really do not see why FD do not remove people caught doing this from open. 1st warning 1 month ban followed by lifetime. I just do not buy its not legal as other games do it.

Unlike pirates and the like these people add nothing and will cost FD money.
because it's valid gameplay and not against the TOS/EULA

"facepalm" revert to solo for docking and cheat Rammers of the lolz.
These people live on lolz and if you deprive them of that they will wither and die. The cant and will not abide by any rules, except they own mangled and sick perspective of the universe.
Just deprive them and carry on with your game. Problem solved.

Cheers Cmdr's

i would love to see them do that to T9 with A shield and 4 sys pips ;P

I'm gonna go on a limb here and guess they run 4 pip sys when ramming as well....

so your type 9 might just melt, since it has weak shields. Or did you really put the 161 million 8A shield on it?

What a load of rubbish. Its not valid gameplay. Its just stupid kids that get there kicks out of ruining someone's game. Sad pathetic loosers.
shall i link the TOS for you?
Valid Gameplay, case dismissed

1.3 will bring lethal action against rammers.

There is nothing you can do, trust me even with a Conda with decent shields when 2 or 3 of them are ramming you. You may get 1 of them, but in combination they will get you. And of course if you use weapons, the station will take you out as they operate in the no fire zone.

FD need to basically ban these guys as it is in their own words playing with exploits for the fun of it.

They will taste my hot lead.

Here's a thought: How many Cmdrs are in the area at present? While this may be a bit boring, have a wing of "messengers" sitting just outside the No Fire Zone. Keep an eye on your scanners and continue to (local) broadcast that rammers are occupying the station and advise all Cmdrs (If they are new they may not know about) to log off from open and into Solo, dock, do your business, and after exiting the station and passing out of the no fire zone, log out and back into Open and continue on their merry way.

Of course the rammers will either have to leave or engage outside the no fire zone to stop the broadcasts. I am thinking they will just cry and leave the area.

Just a thought.....

There are 2 new ones there both in anacondas, one is a very well self confessed exploiter that's all im saying

Ranming everyone and the station isn't scratching their shields, how is that possible?
My FDL has about half the shield strength of a fully boosted anaconda and I died in 5 seconds from firing at a ship there, their shields don't even budge from constant fire from the station

Looks like we need someone who uses an endless shields exploit to go in and give them a taste of their own medicine...

Thats a hacked ship report it to FD, they ban for hacks.

When anyone says something along the lines of "valid gameplay" I immediately think of lawyers pedantically picking over the wording of statutes and wotnot. Then I think that whilst they have a technicality to hide behind their point of argument is against the spirit of the law.

The analogy which sprung to mind initially was those parks with tables on the perimeters. People at the tables could be eating, playing cards or board games with friends, working on their laptops/tablets, reading a book or just passing the time of day in a friendly way, and so forth, but they know that they're next to the grassy play area. That does not mean that some mean spirited Tom, or Harry who decides to keep kicking their ball in the direction of said table-residing people are quite within their rights to keep on doing so in such a continual, annoying way. True, the people at the table should be aware that they may at some point be disturbed by other park occupants, but those tables do not have signs on them stating "Sit here at your own risk. Expect to be harassed. This is all part of the park enjoyment experience. Please do not complain - remember: those other annoying people have a right to pick on you!".

Video of my rather hasty demise is now available for viewing online. Boy, those starports know how to dish out a beating! Me thinks I'll try again. Maybe I'm punch drunk...

I would give you the same answer. To me, slipping into open to avoid players is cheating. OK, I know it is only cheating myself, but it still does not feel right. It is also very gamey - a total immersion destroyer, and that does not sit well at all with the way that I want to play the game - doing in game things for in game reasons. I guess that I may do it one day if it is to avoid people who are not 'playing the game' but are merely being complete and utter <there goes my editor's pen again>. The best way for honest players playing the game 'properly' to not have to put up with this is to ban them.

Although I agree with the sentiment, complaining about player interactions, good and bad in Open, makes little sense to me. People do what they want, and will continue to do so, even past the law updates in 1.3. To avoid the heartache play in Private or accept that you might lose your ship, cargo, and time played because of....people.

BTW, the game was designed to provide this refuge from PvP...it's not cheating and should be encouraged. The more people make the correct choice, relative to their acceptance of losses of in game assets or personal time invested, the better for the health of the game.

FALSE. The only time's we shot anyone, we were far enough away to jump out once the station started attacking. Otherwise, the station wasn't firing on us. Neither of us has ever hacked this game.

Well you have named yourself.

FD please ban these greifers who are ruining the game through ramming exploits

You might not be hacking the game but you and your 'friends' are ruining it for a lot of other players. My Cobra was dumb-fired by your colleague in George Lucas station once and it set me back quite a bit. I was in the 'less than one million cr' bracket at the time so it was a big loss. A cheap laugh at my huge expense (in game) and time invested. I'd shrug my shoulders and carry on if it was a deathmatch fps but dying in ED costs credits. You obviously don't give a damn though.
