Code Interdicting at Diso..

Well, I had my second run in with the Code and this time I am a little upset about it.

Submitted to the interdiction and was asked politely to submit to a scan, cool. But I am unaware as to why this is going on.

The person that interdicts me, I am in a hauler, unarmed, he in an Imerial Cruiser, tells me that it appears I am supporting the terrorists and I am to drop my cargo. I ask why they are terrorists and he fires on my claiming I am trying to stall. Not going to say what I thought of that player at that moment, but as I am in a clearly outclassed ship a little bit of leeway would have been nice.

I drop my cargo and he rambles on about how asking questions is a stall tactic. Maybe if I was in a larger ship, yea.

Not cool Code, not cool at all. I am allied with the Alliance and was going over to check this out, asking a question when there is no notice of a blockade is reasonable and to be met by force, well that is a little low.

If it were a warzone I could understand, that is called attrition, this though... Well it seems the Code is a little on the Dictatorial style..

They declared themselves the moral majority for the system and are intercepting anyone trying to do the Community Goal there. If you want to avoid them, just switch over to Group or Solo.

You could switch to group or solo or just quit the game if this isn't something you'd like to experience in open.

They did declare but the mods moved the thread to the Lore and Roleplay forum.

Thanks, still not impressed...

The way the warning is written I should have been escorted to another system and allowed to go on my marry way with my cargo.

If you are going to roleplay, fine, but stick by your rules.

Someone said something about if I do not like it go to solo or not play.. Really? That was not what I said. I made it clear that I understood the direction and was complying but when asking for clarification I got shot, not cool. If I was in one of my bigger ships I could understand the reasoning, but there is no way that I know of for a Hauler to out run an Imperial Cruiser, the person had me and I was clearly complying I just wanted to know was going on. Perhaps I had read GalNet wrong, perhaps this was a warzone... A modicum of consideration would have gone a long way. Perhaps if I was dealt with in a reasonable manner I may have asked how to join the Code? They have not been psychotic in my dealings with them, just poor communicators...

I agree with the guy below. Go play on Mobius.
You have plenty of remedies, exercise them.
Go play in a group, play solo, play open and expect that or quit.
You have lots of options.
Most people aren't on the forums and no consequences will happen to the person who eviscerated you.
I got rammed to death in an asteroid field! oh well, I guess I should have known, i'm in open.
Just wait till you buy a fighter, fight back and find out the person has hacked their memory and is unkillable.

Sure... sounds good..

It's like a broken record. :D

Problem with The Code is that they have a few loose cannons in their ranks. They just want to do PvP and aren't quite sure how to deal with piracy of traders properly. The core of The Code are quite decent and aren't as twitchy.

Little disappointed at the dump of hundreds of canisters of leather at the station preventing docking due to lack and messing with the matchmaker server

This would work better if there were more mechanics for blockade-running (well, same as smuggling, really) on the traders' side. Like, FSD-interdiction-escape-booster modules, or cargobay scan shielding modules (that report other wares, with % of failure rate), or FSD-chargeup boosters, or FSD-cruise-mode-stealth, or, well, anything that gives more options for traders to actually run a blockade, short of "I really hope they don't interdict me, because I'm dead the moment they begin".

The Code are horrible and untrustworthy. They are a cancer that must be stopped.
...and I for one am glad that they, and groups like them, exist in the game. They add character to the game. They provide conflict. They can really, really ruin your day. But in the end you came here to this forum and shared the experience you had with this one "bad apple". One thousand interdictions by NPCs aren't noteworthy at all. Once encounter with another player in the game and it is worthy of remembering and telling people about it.
Here's my advice: ENJOY being angry with Code. Make it part of your game. They're now the enemy and when the time comes to give them a black eye... be ready!

Blockade running is already quite fun, as you can drop out of SC manually and bunny hop to the station, drawing them in to follow your wake and pre-charge you drive so you can SC out as soon as drop in, and all sorts of fun.

So I don't see anything wrong with the blockade, just the cargo dropping at the station

Or just hop over to solo / group.
That is pretty much a 100% effective mechanic.
Technically if this player raises enough money, then buys a type 9 and A classes that shield he could just log off once interdicted, not combat log, and pretty easily survive the 20 or so seconds it takes to log out.
Or if he is technically savvy he could just block p2p at his router or firewall.
Those are perfectly valid ways of making the aggressor go away.

Seriously though. I don't know why people want to deal with this nonsense. PvP needs to be a lot more "structured" for me to become interested in it, like faction vs faction in warzones.

Would you like to man my position?
I literally (figuratively) stand here all day listening to someone die in open and give their story, then say "omgosh group or solo" and they go "you dont care. You dont care!!"
I cared the first few times I responded.
Now not so much anymore.

I agree, I hate trading, but trying to smuggle in past a players blockage is fun.

I just failed at my first attempt at Diso :(
