Code Interdicting at Diso..

To be perfectly honest I have had boils on my posterior more pleasant to deal with than my run in's with this particular group today. Is there even a legit in game reason for them to be blocking this goal? It seems to me that pirates would want more rare goods available at the station so that there are more to *ahem* relieve people of at a later date......

I do not think money is the motivation which makes the behavior very much not pirate like at all.....but I digress.....it is what it is.....Mobius is looking better all the time.....how does one go about joining?

Edit: BTW giving people advice to log out the correct way by going through the menu isn't very good advice either.......my cousin did that earlier in his Python because he didn't have much money and they killed him like 20 minutes later when he was helping me test something regarding trade dividends and whether one could receive them while being in the system in supercruise and they said nothing beyond "Die combat logger" sending him back to the beginning with less than a million credits. He may stop playing the game now and honestly I can't say I 100% blame him.

They may want to artificially inflate prices, or starve the current government swapping the system allegiance. Or rare goods as you said.

Personally I think they just want a "member" home planet which is much harder to combat. My personal strategy would be to run a hauler/T6/T7/T9 in a wing with 3X FDL's or Anacondas drawing them in before destroying them. Keep it up until they stop interdicting people.

I'm awfully grateful for solo mode. This all sounds horrific.

oh wow. So horrible that people actually try to kill you in a game they are supposed to if they want ? What is a pirate to do in this game then ???

I guess StarCitizen will have a much better destiny than ED if it goes all Open. That way we can have proper community goals. Want to fight a war ? Then stop cowarding behind Solo/Groups and come at me in Open bro...

For all those wanting a change in PVP this Code action isn't griefing, it isn't illegal and its role play. ED isn't Unreal Tournament, its not Quake 5, its Frontier with other players. Getting shot in a space game is a occupational hazard as it blowing up but it shouldn't stop you from enjoying the game just get in the feel of it.

For every faction supporting the community goal there is a faction that is opposed to it, just be happy they spoke and didn't just shoot first.

Pirates at least most of them throughout history didn't kill people unnecessarily. Theft was the major motivation, not mass murder, pirates that practiced mass murder tended to live very short lives.....even at sea. I hope meaningful crime and punishment gets introduced because in Braben's own words PvP is supposed to be "Rare and Meaningful". Currently it is neither rare or meaningful, more like Common and Meaningless.

Ever heard of this nebulous weird thing called "an En Pee Cee"? I've heard it's all the rage these days. You should check it out.

Ever heard of this thing called "Treining dumee"? Cuz thats what NPC's are for my vulture. I do not even use my full energy in my lasers versus an Anaconda. Yeah excuse me for wanting a little more challenge, but people pointing fingers at me for this :)

Rare ? What ? They said they invite us to PvP in PowerPlay my god...

Riight, people flying Type-6s/Type-7s are a challenge. Sure. ;)

So is there any money to be made with a lawful or chaotic good alignment, a kill warrant scanner and good aim? Because it sounds like there's loads of fun to be had hunting Code between the nav beacon and the station...

Don't know if you can go at it alone......they were running in at least 1 wing of 5 when I gave up and headed back to the area I have been hanging out at.

Edit: Because everyone knows that you need at least 2 Fer de Lances, 2 Imperial Clippers and an Anaconda at the minimum to deal with those wily Lakon pilots in their 6's, 7's, and 9's.

....well that's not very sporting. You'd think self-professed pirates trying to make the game more fun for PvP would be made of tougher stuff...

wow and just how exactly do you set up a wing of 5? :D

The Code are horrible and untrustworthy. They are a cancer that must be stopped.
...and I for one am glad that they, and groups like them, exist in the game. They add character to the game. They provide conflict. They can really, really ruin your day. But in the end you came here to this forum and shared the experience you had with this one "bad apple". One thousand interdictions by NPCs aren't noteworthy at all. Once encounter with another player in the game and it is worthy of remembering and telling people about it.
Here's my advice: ENJOY being angry with Code. Make it part of your game. They're now the enemy and when the time comes to give them a black eye... be ready!

Is there a group that fights against CODE?

ah yes, you are right, my bad....was a wing of 4 on 1......my point was it was overkill in the extreme. I think they only had 1 clipper.

Though to be fair, I was a little busy trying to get out of the bad situation instead of doing a headcount.

There are people there to help. BUT if you don't have a group backing you then you are Extremely Vulnerable to not pirating, but blockading. Blockading is worse than pirating because they will not ask for cargo. They will just kill you. If you are so lucky to have helpful CMDR's around to try to help then you should heed there advise. If you don't you are lucky to live. If you can't afford to loose it...multiple times over...don't fly it!

If your not escorted I would not recommend blockage running in a dedicated trader, well unless you like the insurances screen.

You really need to be in a Clipper or Anaconda outfitted as a blockade runner if your going to attempt this alone in open. You will also need a good understanding of how FSD Interdictors operate and how to avoid them.

Has been fun tonight, taxi driving for he wife and the girls now though, I'll see you Code rascals in Diso again tomorrow.

Well, I had my second run in with the Code and this time I am a little upset about it.

Submitted to the interdiction and was asked politely to submit to a scan, cool. But I am unaware as to why this is going on.

The person that interdicts me, I am in a hauler, unarmed, he in an Imerial Cruiser, tells me that it appears I am supporting the terrorists and I am to drop my cargo. I ask why they are terrorists and he fires on my claiming I am trying to stall. Not going to say what I thought of that player at that moment, but as I am in a clearly outclassed ship a little bit of leeway would have been nice.

I drop my cargo and he rambles on about how asking questions is a stall tactic. Maybe if I was in a larger ship, yea.

Not cool Code, not cool at all. I am allied with the Alliance and was going over to check this out, asking a question when there is no notice of a blockade is reasonable and to be met by force, well that is a little low.

If it were a warzone I could understand, that is called attrition, this though... Well it seems the Code is a little on the Dictatorial style..

I cannot apologize for a fellow associate of CODE, since we are allow to use our discretion as long as we follow the empirical code.

Try to understand that we are dealing with hundreds of players constantly rolling in, we are quite busy and even sometimes frustrated by some players.

However, if I was the one that interdicted you, I would love to have a good conversation with you (given that you do not run).

Fly safe.

I was interdicted by a wing of four claiming to be CODE over at Gliese 868 the other night. Theses days I always stop to see what people want with an interdiction.

Having a Conda with A rated shields and 5 boosters gives one time to shoot the breeze.

One of them seemed to be an Orca - not sure what that was about - maybe to masslock smaller stuff for the others?
