I have read so many posts on this subject and everybody always comes back to the same thing, "We want everybody in Open mode". Well I have said this before and it seems to always fall on deaf ears.

When Elite changed their minds about off line mode and made the game solely Online it made these issues. They had to make the game have Solo mode, and they also had to have Open mode, but they had to allow players to have their ships and characters to transfer into all the modes they made available to us the players.

I do not like the idea that a player, who ever it is, does not like or want other players to be allowed to play this game however they want. I get sick and tired of these people complaining about how others seem to effect their game. Really, if I am in Solo mode and I sell 1 ton of gold is it really going to devalue the gold for the whole system by a huge amount? No it doesn't.

I like this game and will not have other people dictate to me how I should be playing this game. I do not go around killing other players, unless they attack me, I do not force other players to play my game style, and I will allow other people to have a view even if they are wrong or have a very weak argument.
I enjoy this game because there are so many players from all around the world, there are so many starts to explore and I can do exactly what I want, as long as its within the game rules and as long as I do not offend other players.

If I wish to play this game in Solo mode then I should be allowed to, If I want to play in Group mode then I should be able to, the same also goes with Open mode, which I play sometimes, then I should be able to. I Should not be restricted as to which mode I am allowed to play in, I should not have people shouting at me or making threats towards my friends or myself just because I do not play in a set mode. I personally want to play the game with some really cool people and make friends with those people and others who think the same way as me. But being forced into Open mode just because one small minority believe that everybody has to play this game their way, and that being one of cannon fodder for their lasers, just is not the game I and many others signed up for.

I bought this game to enjoy. I didn't buy it to be told how to play or what modes I shouldn't have available to me. I actually bought this game because I was told it will have a fully working offline mode, which turned out to be a lie.

I am glad that I can switch modes as it gives me the best of both worlds. I have a choice if I want to interact with other players, also it gives me a choice to play the game in Open/Group.

I wish everybody could just agree that everybody has a right to play in what ever mode they want to, and every mode should stay exactly as it is. If people just want a dedicated open server that nobody can switch out of then release a totally offline mode which Frontier Developments said they would do back in October last year.

If you are not happy that people can change modes, because you cannot kill them, then I would suggest that you look for another game because Elite Dangerous just isn't for you.

I will never advocate that players can not play in solo or group.

I merely advocate that the productivity of Open is equal to Solo and Group.

If the status quo changed and solo had a hard time earning or completing goals compared to Open I would complain for them to be equal too.

Oh, by the way - any "perceived" advantage - can be solved, by doing it yourself (aka, not an advantage if everyone can do it)

Its simple why, new people keep joining the game (that's good) without researching the game (that's bad). Some have ideas about new ways to fix a problems that doesn't exist, they refuse to read anything written before (I understand its a big thread now, there is a reason for that*) and each need it explaining individually.

* New people starting a new thread about the same thing (even when open/groups/solo was in the top 5 posts on page 1, a new one would pop up)

Compared to what exactly?

As most of the posts from both sides, are nothing more than personal option stating personal desires - my point was, a lot of what Open players moan about, they can fix themselves. (hence the parable).
Regarding: "People can judge me however they deem. I am not immune from labeling. If you have one for me Jockey. Please disclose it." - in answer to that, I do not have a "label" for you.

If you'd paid any attention to the prior thread - Most Solo and Group advocates didn't "label" (some did, misusing the term "griefer" , most didn't however) - Yet Open advocates took every opportunity to do so, calling non open players any of the list I provided or some creative version.

End of the day, Solo/Group players are not the ones moaning about the modes - so we are back to the parable I used.... why are you asking for help, when you can do what the rest of us can?

Well, I wouldn't go wrong with a Cisco Catalyst DSN09E. But then I'd have to live in a 19" rack for the rest of my live, my only friends would be repo men or bailiffs, and I'd be in a private group of 0 with no way of playing Elite :D

It is strange though, that back on topic, all those who so strongly voiced the opinions that solo/groups were so inferior to open play, or that open deserved such a great buff to offset certain now-banned perceptions, whist being that very same now-banned perception - where have they all gone?

Personally I believe that Solo/Group do not get the same productivity as Open.

It is a fact that a player in Open can make as much money, if not a lot more, than any player in solo. Just because you or any other Open player is not using the game to obtain the maximum amount of money from which ever type of character form you/they have chosen does not mean the game is imbalanced towards Solo and Group modes.

I can make more money in Open mode than I could ever make in Solo. So Money wise you clearly are not playing the game very well.

I want equality for all, but solo is solo after all and they do not get any Bonus for being in a trade wing.

Personally Group and Open are always better off compared to solo, but people only see one thing and that's how the game is effected by Community goals. Just because every player moves into their own group or solo to do the Community goals due to other players spoiling their fun does not mean that open has a right to have its own and private community goals. Just look at how some players have tried to blockade stations which are doing community goals. Is this fair, are they spoiling the game for players who just want to play and have fun with friends, or is this the game that people want. Personally I believe that Elite Dangerous is a PVE game which also have some PVP. If they made a server just for PVP it would be extremely lonely for the PVP'ers.

TBH this subject should be left alone because it will always have just the same few people making their demands and other people just picking points. I do not care what anybody says as this game needs a solo/group/open mode and they should all be interchangeable. Anything else is just not elite, and if elite did change this game so players could not move from solo to group to open then they will lose a lot of players within days. Who would want to play a game which you can only play online and never be able to play in all three modes with ships they have worked very hard to get.

I can make Open advocates look really bad by putting those quotes here.... I'm trying not to do that, as I know you are not all like that - but if you want to go there...

I really do hope no one starts with 1), 2) or 3) again either!, in relation to how I play a computer game with or against other peoples pixels (or AI pixels), for in game credits, I really hope we avoid that reoccurring.

If someone really wants to then feel free, its the interwebz ...... but it will not end well.
