Reputation!

I Think if a ship is hostile and you shoot at it you shouldnt loose reputation with that party. It seems like it is like that now. I have become hostile with a party that way.

To gain reputation with that party, the only way is to do quests with them. Point is there are hardly any quest to find with that party. Would be nice to see an increase in quest so you have some chance to continue playing this game. As it is now i cant do anything but ship a few cargo which isnt getting me anywhere. I cant fight since im hostile with the party....

You are probably confusing a hostile ship with a wanted one. If you kill a wanted ship that belongs to a certain faction - then naturally your reputation with them decreases.

only if it fires at you willingly and you don't stray into its fire path is shooting at it legal so long as its wanted.... also if it is in a war zone and identified as opposing faction
try using your kws to make sure it is wanted helps avoid making your chosen faction an enemy to you and that it is not in your faction too if it is just fsd outta there
rather than becoming an enemy to your group

So killing a wanted, but friendly faction, will low your rep, with that faction, if if wanted and he shoots 1st?

I ask, as I have seen, friendly faction ships, that are wanted, but not green?

Arry.

if he deliberately targets you then his rep with that faction will decrease to the point of enemy
so returning fire will do the same to you if your sure he is in your faction and after you I suggest bravely running away! :D

Ok! Sry for being a bit unclear.

I'm firing at a hostile ship, should it matter where it comes from? It's hostile ;)
I have been killing only hostile ships, suddently my rep with a faction becomes "hostile", so everytime im near a ship that belongs to "that party" the ship
marker is red indicating: he will fking shoot me if i approach him.

So i do that and the ship starts firing at me. If i open fire back i become hostile. Conlusion, i need to get the f out of there ;)
Only way to go back to that Place is to earn reputation with that party until im not hostile with them. The problem is that there are too few quest around for that
particular party. I have gone 2 every station twice without being able to pick up a single quest. I have already done this Before. I did 2-3 quests and increased my rep
for that party.

So, what im asking for is a bit more quests so you dont have to wait 1-2 Days Before quests starts popping up. I'm not sure how the frequency of quests works but as it is now, its a bad frequency....

And, how can it be that i lose rep if i fire at a hostile ship.
If a ship fires at me first, then i defend myself, how come I become hostile? Should it be illegal to defend? Nvm the rep with the attacker, im following the law by not shooting at any Clean ship, i get attacked by a ship from a hostile, reputation hostile, ship and defend myself... boom... hostile ;) VERY WEIRD LOGIC`?!`!`!`!

Hostile WILL fire upon you, every time. You are, after all; hostile?

As to the re-building rep? It is hard work, I would say about 5 times harder to raise it than to lose it. What I did was, first stay away from star ports, you only get attacked, so only use outposts. Second, move from outpost to outpost and collect as many missions as possible. For me, i was at the point of giving up, when the reputation raise finally came.

Arry.

I mean i get WANTED if i return the fire! ;)

my reputation is HOSTILE with justice party

im in a resource site with many partys like green party etc...

i have only fired at WANTED ships, still i lose rep with justice party if i fire at a WANTED justice party ship

- - - Updated - - -

I know ;)

I have been picking up quests, thats what i Think is so .
There are many quest for the other partys and NONE for the justice party, atm....
Why not have more quest so you have a chance to pick some rep. up??? so dumb...

- - - Updated - - -

like now, its 3 quests for the green party and 1 for justice party?!?!??!!? why????

- - - Updated - - -

hahah and the quest say: this faction does not trust you enough???!??! hhahahha its redicoulus

solution: if you are hostile with a party, get more quest for that party until that fcking flag is off, then you can get less frequent quests so you wont be able to Leach rep by getting hostile first so you get loads of quests and can start to leech...

this is ed up, i cant play this game as it is now, only solution is to delete this account and buy a new game!!???

How do you know when you've maximized reputation?

I'm one rank away from completing the Clipper grind. I spent about five hours yesterday completing the rep-giving missions in a system I hadn't spent much time in before and didn't get the ascension mission, surprisingly. As "Allied" to the Empire as a whole, everyone looks Allied; is there any way to see when I'm wasting my time and should be completing missions in a new system?

I'm pretty sure I've seen some mission summary screens where the faction name is in white rather than blue with an up arrow - I'm not sure what that means. Is that a reputation-maximized faction? I'm still getting the blue arrow in my current system.

I'm sure after work I'll jump to a new system, do one mission, see an ascension opportunity and stop caring about all this - but it'd be nice if it were more clear (unless I'm just missing something obvious).

Keep on doing missions for minor Empire factions and switching systems. Courier missions will eventually start popping up.

On the reputation screen after you turn in a mission the name of the faction will be white instead of blue when it is maxed out. There will not be a blue up arrow next to the faction either.

Thanks! I assumed that was what that indicated. So, I may as well continue taking missions in my current system - that's what I wanted to know.

Reputation Decays Now? Discuss.

I don't know about you guys, but I think this is a terrible mechanic. I'd like to see this change be discussed here, but please, let's keep it civil =)

I'm not thrilled with it. And even if such a thing was going to be implemented, it is happening way too quickly.

Is this true? This is totally unfair to people like myself with a family who can only spend small amounts of time playing. I'd like to think my contribution to the galaxy is remembered when I next log back in!
