You could argue that solo players should have no interest in PP, it is a multiplayer system which uses offline decay. Therefore anyone who really wanted a solo / offline mode should have no interest in it. The issue is that solo mode is being exploited. I actually think I agree with the OP but would just make it so that nothing from PP is available in solo.

yeah delete Solo, as long as you provide a single player experience that you first promised everyone, at least then we wont have to put up with shoddy network code keeping us in loading screens until its connected to a clearly overworked server.

Yes, force me to go into open when my internet dies and rubberbands everyone like crazy. Because me destroying everyones open experience is the right thing...

In honesty yes its a valid point and a problem that people can influence things without other people being able to stop them, no it probably won't be removed. Yes this topic has been gone into many (many many) times and has always lead to a internet fight that no one wins.
I mean it was promised as offline game and when that ended there was a huge outcry, delete solo option and be prepared for a ton of "I want my money back".

Tl:dr As many people enjoy solo as hate it. Why would Frontier annoy a large portion of their playerbase changing it one way or the other, they may as well leave it as it is.

no, first of all frontier has to sell as many games as possible. achieving this would only be done through options to the consumer.
some people dont have good internet, others live in area where the infrastructure of the internet connection cables are simply very low quality; so even if they do want good quality internet they cant have it.

so making it a solo only game will simply punish you by making the game less bought and it will suffer in content in return.

simply put not everyone wants a only online game. maybe in the future when the infrastructure is much better and more reliable then yes it might be a good idea; and solve alot of problems that you guys have mentioned.

But as of now, it would only hurt the ED community as a whole out of your self interest.

so we have 10 powers in play, covering all 3 factions. each of the play modes - solo, group and open will have players aligning with their favoured power for reasons other than a chosen game mode. this will result in pretty much the same dispersal of support throughout the powers in 'all' game modes, which should then provide the same outcome at the end of each cycle as if we were all playing in a single mode. typhoon in a teacup.. so why not just play your game, and let others play theirs.

but if solo play is being 'exploited' to benefit 'a' power, does it not stand to reason that solo is being exploited to benefit 'all' powers? which would translate to your 'exploit' being 'playing the game'. or are you suggesting that there is some great solo play conspiracy specifically aimed at undermining the power you follow?
