Stutter Stutter Stutter since 1.3 - near stations, asteroids, and pretty much anything that has a model and collision

but getting your network device drivers up to date might be worthwhile. Network drivers can be very very finicky.

I think you may be right...

I decided to switch between network cards (onboard to offboard) and now the stuttering is very minimal, only a fraction of what it was, nearly unnoticeable.

Most likely an issue on OP's end. No issues here. Used to stutter very slightly, though it's never been bad for me and only near some planets not stations. Now it's consistently smoother everywhere.

GTX 660 i5-3570 and 60fps everywhere constantly. Everything on ultra except shadows to high and Ambient Occlusion off

Could you plz accept that if you are not concerned some others are ?

I have 970GTX playing 1440p @120fps with gsync Screen : haven't any stutter in 1.2, now got a lot of stutters in 1.3.

Tryed 3 drivers version with clean install, registry cleaning and still got issue.

THIS IS a Major ISSUE to me and others. Stop deny the trouble if you are not concerned.

Lots more experimenting here and It really does appear to be network related. If from the Launcher I play the single player combat training it is constantly silky smooth (and using ctrl B shows there is no network access). But playing any of the online modes. its is there.
I replaced the MS drivers with Mobo Specific driver for the intel card and it made No diff. I disabled the lan and activated the ireless lan. Still no diff. I get the accessional stall around every 10 to 15 seconds.

+1 Lots of stuttering here as well. Nah, its not us. Something changed between 1.2 and 1.3. It helped some and introduced stutter for many others...

I think onboard network hits your processor, of board takes load off your processor.

I bet a million pounds they've added in telemetry for hacking/cheating/logging in 1.3.

My game mainly stutters in RES when the game spawns other ships. Astroids may cause it aswell but I suspect it's mainly the ships.
Fortunately I've got no stuttering at stations at all. The stuttering started at update 1.2, before that I had no problems at all. It's not a gamebreaker, but it is quite annoying.

For me it is gamebreaking because it breaks immersion which is the most important part in such a game.

Flying smooth : i can focus on landscape, feeling.
Stutter : remind me i am in a buggy videogame in front of a screen.

I have the same problem in RES, when a ship spawns into "contact" pum stuttering for a sec.!!! It doesnt happened before so its new in this series of updates!!!

My rig is good, its an i7 8gb ram 980gtx ! So its not my pc and like i said, it was not happening before!

Any way to solve this?

Same here, getting regular stutters in RES now, about every 5-10 seconds, the stall lasts for about a quarter of a second usually but sometimes a little longer. I've been playing since 1.0 but I would say these stutters are worse now than any previous version (though stutters in other places have improved slightly for me). Not sure it coincides with NPC spawning though, seems to be quite regular.

it is manly in supercruise approching planet where i have stuttering. It never happens in previous 1.0 to 1.2 build.

I know, right? Has there been any word to address this? Game worked fine in 1.2.

And what's with the loading ring talking about shaders on startup each time?

Frontier? Anyone?

The shader cache was supposed to eliminate stutters as it caches the shaders to disk thus making loading faster, this has apparently worked for some and others not so much. Selective programming I guess.

This problem is NOT on our end extensive testing by myself and many others confirms that fact.

Is there any way to set it up like it was in 1.2? I'm jonesin' for some space truckin' action...

Seriously, they should have a selection box that says: "Use the smooth as butter high frame rate graphics" that 1.2 had. (Cause I'd check that box.)

Nope we are at their mercy...

I've got a 970 and Rift and there's been a massive improvement in 1.3 - smoother and better quality, all around a massive boost in the graphics. Odd that some people are seeing the opposite.
