Yes i'm sure DBOBE had all the powerplay stats and facts weeks before it was even in beta  He may be good but i dont think anyone is that good.

Besides should open players not be able to balance a solo player? Should open players not be able to have as much of an influence? For a game that's all about "playing your way" it seems odd that it now becomes, "play your way, unless you want to be able to influence the galaxy, then play in solo". I guess that a little too long of a tagline tho.

Except anything that can be done in solo can also be done in open. It's perfectly possible to influence the galaxy in open. Literally the only difference in the two modes is player population. In solo, it's one. In open, it's a maximum of 32. (Well, per instance, and that's all that really counts now, isn't it? And it's more like 12, due to the way the peer to peer architecture works.) So what if other players are interfering with your goals. Isn't that why you choose open? For the "competition"?

and yet that competition just insures less impact, which would be fine if there was a way to balance it out. Higher rewards vs players or something.

How is there less impact, not everyone in solo as in open are doing the same thing. Some are on your side some not.

When you are opposed by a player, they are much more deadly and efficient than even elite npcs.

You may not be opposed all the time but when you do, it's a lot worse than from an npc. So at best it's a push, at worst it's a lot harder and you're more likely to die.

Increasing the rewards for killing players, will at least, assure that if you are opposed, you have a chance to still come out ahead.

and still many players have been see the insurance screen after a fight of npc's.....so ur point about weak npc's is litle wrong...maybe cause open have WINGS?

Has it been confirmed that solo will never have npc wings?

There's also the chance of an enemy wing being used agaisnt you.

That is very true, but because of the way the networking works, and the mindset of some players - all it takes to nullify a player-killer wing is one keypress. That's it - goodbye player-killer wing.
And I'm sure someone somewhere could do the same with infinite shields and one hit kills, what does it have to do with anything?

Has it confirmed that will be?
It had better right? Or else you guys would be angry.

Well the point is - if someone is using infinite shields and one hit kills - that is cheating. If someone decides to no longer play with him, that's tough luck :D
That is also cheating, at least sandro said so in the combat logging thread.

If someone does superhaxxor their router, they won't be killing them so it won't matter.

And again someone is completely ignoring instances and all other ways in Open that can cause you to not see other people and focusing on that Solo is unfair because they can't kill them.

It's not combat logging, it's not cheating, and it's not hacking - and I don't even do it. But it's extremely simple to make a wing of pew-pews cry just for the lulz.

I would hope PP is living up to his stated expectations, FD are the only ones who know and if its not they will address it.

Everyone has exactly the same choices, I don't complain it takes longer to complete a trade route in Open if I get interdicted, if I am in open its because I am welcoming it.

I don't think anyone is ignoring that the network limits will interfere somewhat however allowing people explicitly hide in solo mode while people in open are trying thwart counter actions really undermines the attempt. I would at least the chance of seeing people trying to sabotage with my plans. And implementing instance hopping could be fun too.

It's like they have created a new form of game here ... the Massively Soloplayer Online game. Everyone log in and try to pretend there is no one else here. Please don't step on anyone's toes or inconvenience anyone or you will be stealth banned.

Please keep on topic, I never said anything about it being unfair I can't kill solo players.

I think you missed the words "can be" in your statement.
a below average player is more dangerous than an elite npc. If you want I can change it to "more than likely"
