I don't complain it takes longer to complete a trade route in Open if I get interdicted, if I am in open its because I am welcoming it.

Being in Open also gives me the chance to prove John Gabriel’s Unreal Tournament theory for some small value of childish amusement.

I don't think anyone is ignoring that the network limits will interfere somewhat however allowing people explicitly hide in solo mode while people in open are trying thwart counter actions really undermines the attempt. I would at least the chance of seeing people trying to sabotage with my plans. And implementing instance hopping could be fun too.

You mean like other modes people cant interfere with YOUR actions ?

Again, this whole "hide in solo" nonsense. You can equally hide well in Open. Are you going to send four wings of expert player-killers to deal with me in Swoiwn JT-O B24-1?

It's not combat logging, it's not cheating, and it's not hacking - and I don't even do it. But it's extremely simple to make a wing of pew-pews cry just for the lulz.
If you say so, but manipulation of the game to suit your needs is still cheating to me. But either way, what does this have to do with anything?

It's like they have created a new form of game here ... the Massively Soloplayer Online game. Everyone log in and try to pretend there is no one else here. Please don't step on anyone's toes or inconvenience anyone or you will be stealth banned.

No offense but that is pure . They are not creating a Massively Soloplayer Online game. They created a game so that PVPers and PVEers can both enjoy the game and in their own small way influence it. Your doing a ME, ME, ME thing. YOU want the chance to interdict players that don't want to PVP because YOU feel that YOUR play style and YOUR plans are more important that others and that if they play solo they are "hiding" because YOU can't have combat effect on them. What you are not hearing is that you have the same effect on their game as they have on yours.

a below average player is more dangerous than an elite npc. If you want I can change it to "more than likely"

I'd actually prefer some sort of Pirate Ombudsman where I can complain to about the poor quality of service.;) Anyway, we digress. How many players do you guess I have seen in Open since the start of Gamma? (Bear in mind I am Allied with both Empire and Federation, Friendly with Alliance and have oodles of permits).

That is just it Jordan - there is NO manipulation of the game required.
Your network is part of the game. It's what you use to play the game.

I give up, how many?

I just don't know anymore, I play almost exclusively in Group mode.

Frontier however seem intent on a more PVP/competition orientated game, to some extent I can see why with the popularity of things like Destiny on Xbox etc..

Maybe a PVP flag would be the solution, not very immersive but it would be the least damaging compromise.

Yes, and it is utterly mine - absolutely nobody else has any say in what I do with it. After all, it's not theirs. Surely you can see what I mean.
But still, that's like flipping the table you were playing chess on, and then claiming it's ok because it's yours and you want to take it back.

About 15. Space is big, yo.
I've seen over 15 players in 3 hours alone. I'm assuming you don't do community goals or pp?

Still that doesnt make u right
it doesn't make me wrong either. I have enough experience fighting players to know what they are capable of, i've done my research.

This is assumes we are not operating in specific location. The assumption you are making is that I only want to hunt the cowards that hide in solo mode. That is not true. My comment was that those in solo mode can undermine my efforts with no risk of doing so.

If our activities are in a small group of systems that are NOT Swoiwn JT-O B24-1, we frankly don't care that you are there. You are no interest to us at that point.

The Open/Solo overlap destroys any long term planning or strategic thought for the players. The players are reduced to simple combat tactics (which often involve running from the bigger ship) and space trucking. The entertaining part of the game is being played by those ten developers that give you all little guys the orders.

There is no way to personally invested in this game. I have spent the past three days arguing about this in the forum because that is more fun than actually playing the game at this point.

well there is no manipulation of the game possible ... which is maybe why it technically isn't a game.
