maybe for the same reason u are that want to change CORE mechanic that was A MAIN SALE point from the ks time....

No. You can play in solo group - move to a light PvP open mode if you want.

Separately have a strict PvP/Ironman mode where everyone has to stay there. Problem solved except FD want maximum profit and don't want to provide separate background simulations.

A private group (no matter how large) still shares the background simulation with every other mode. The problem we have is sharing the background mode. Why are you so disconnected from the issue that is brought up again and again in this thread?

You know I kinda see where, "Mouse" is coming from. DAVID BRABEN, says it doesn't matter, what so ever. You say it does. Who should we all believe?

So everyone should be like you so NPCs are no threat because we are all awesome Beetlbum. Plrent have sadi they found NPC's to be difficult

Nah, you still don't understand. We want a SERVER for the likes of US, so that players like YOU can STILL play the way THEY WANT. It has been repeated so hilariously often by me and others, I don't know what to say anymore.

Games been out 2 and a half years has it? And you could have pulled out any time you want but didn't, now you want things your way?

Wow, what kind of logic is this? If I would only play the games I am 100% happy about, I would be an absolute non-gamer. There isn't such thing as a game that fits perfectly well with ANY person and it is totally fine and WANTED that people make suggestions here to change the game for the BETTER. This is one of the reasons of the existence of this very forum! I can't believe what I am reading here, lol.

Get their names and get em when they come out of Solo,

I don't want them to affect the galaxy in the meantime and grind up in ez mode. That doesn't appeal to me. Why do you care anyway? I am not asking for that you get your magic parallel dimensions server removed. Nothing would change for you. But for me it would change EVERYTHING. I would even pay for it the same amount I already paid plus a monthly fine.

PVPers are doing this not PVEers yet you want to punish others for your own players actions.

How do PVE people get punished, when there is a new server that doesn't change one thing for them?! We wouldn't meet ingame anyway. What's the point? Don't get it.

They didn't make bad design decision. People sometimes just want to be over the top A holes

Me too. That's one reason why I want a separate server. There would still be the PvP mode on your server and you could still affect their game world like you do it now and vice versa. You just couldn't affect MY game world anymore.

Again many people have posted they are a threat.

For me they are not. However, even if they were, this wouldn't change anything. NPCs don't affect the world the way players do.

No different than someone flagging PVP in another game ganking you then deflagging and hiding till the PVP flag fades.

But that is exactly what I don't want. I want the good old UO hardcore felucca experience and no PvP gimmick.

Again, you didn't compete in what you deem " fairly but now are trying to get others to.

No. *yawn* I want the option. No one is forced to join the new server.

And again, It has been stated before that those who use that method don't fare well in PVP.

They learn quick to compete with my type-6. But that is not what annoys me.

And what about someone who's played in Solo since the game came out and decided to try and see how open was? Are they now cheating because "Gasp" they didn't earn the ship they fly while they were in open?

It is not cheating, as it is clearly allowed by the game rules. You can reinvent chess by letting the person win who claps first three times with his hands. I just don't want the rules that way, because for me it feels cheap. If one wants to avoid other players he should do it IN the game world, not by flipping an invisibility switch. If you like that, I am fine with it. However, I like it not and I never will.

Listen mate, I just want you to ponder something. Say you're an open fan boy who loves action. Ok you're doing great and you run into someone, or say, "some big and powerful organization", that just just beats the begeesers out of you. Kills all your ships, so much that you can hardly un-dock without them being right there to ruin your world. Ok your on your a_s, broke and decide to withdraw for a little solo action, (primarily to rebuild some) so you can return to your beloved open and continue your antic's.

Would you be suggesting that if someone, anyone, gets beat down, that they should just stay there and be held down?

This is one of the reasons solo or group is there. This makes perfectly logical sense to me. What would you suggest a player do in this situation, just eat s_it and die. lol

That is exactly what I do! I am primarily a trader. I have a few friends (who rarely play) - I play open as a Solo trader with some bounty hunting - I accept the risk - enjoy every interaction with players because it can be either positive or negative.

for ironman many have ask and no response or i miss it ...fact is with a litle search u could find that threads to see urself if devs/mods responded for that

Yeah, but the game was deigned this way, it allows for a retreat. No one should be held down. Where's the fun in that?

PS, I'm all for that "Iron Man Server", 100%. That way the hardcore sorts can move on to have a grand ole time. Then group and solo players might not bother you so much.;)

You want FD to scrap their game and cater to your little whim.. it ain't happening.. they gave you open but that isn't enough for you, you want more, you want to control everything, even to the point of who can play in your little play ground. you literally want the game duplicated Just for you.

Yet you try to blame FD for wanting to maximize profit instead of at yourself for being a special snowflake that FD needs to cater to.

We all know the devs want to spend as little as possible on network architecture as possible. If there is enough of an outcry they might consider a PvP background simulation.

Absolute rubbish. I want a separate mode that does not impinge on you. Duplicated for just me? I am not the only one that asks for this - there are many Elite players that want this.

understand that will happen IF FD decide to do it when the expansion comes with planetary landings and that will be risky for them ..until them wont see any drastical changes atleast on CORE mechanics

Just so that you understand, Ironman (as a mode) at it's simplest implementation is a matchmaking flag, a slightly updated death routine, and that's it.

- At character generation tick the "IM" box.
- Set flag on commander data
- Implement matchmaking rule to include the IM flag (so like are grouped with like)
- Upon death reset the IM flag (so they respawn in normal mode) & include appropriate message
- Done

There is no need to alter the NW architecture.

A dedicated PvP mode (which kind of defeats the point being as there's open where "anything goes" including PvP) would be akin to the same as above : Set an appropriate flag on the commander; include it as part of the normal matchmaking rules; voila.

FWIW I play self imposed IM (wipe char post death) and play in open. Wrap your head around that ;)

Lets put it in perspective. The Xbox community are going to influence the same mode as we do. Do you think they will accept that an invisible influence has made them lose a territory they put a lot of effort in to?

I personally don't think they will see your wider picture. They won't accept the status quo much like Open players.

You call it absolute rubbish, yet do you have an inkling how much manpower, programming changes, equipment, new expenses, and all that FD will have to organize to make this "seperate Mod" just for you and some other PVPers that don't feel like they can PVP or play with everyone else because it isn't "hardcore" enough? A "subscription charge" will not cover this.. it is a WHOLE new Kickstarter.

You don't listen to anyone do you? Did you not read pages back how those "influences" work?

No one said that.

This is the most hilarious conversation I ever had on the internet.

You know your right, it is hilarious. lol

But let me tell ya this. If you compare the, "we got to change the game bunch", with the, "I could care less bunch", I think you would be massively outnumbered, (even with the Reddit bunch, I actually think Mobius alone outnumbers them). Nothing I can base this on, but lets just wait and see what happens. I fall into the "I could care less bunch". I actually love the game so far, and got no serious issues as is. I'd love to see landing on planets though.:D

I have read everything. Do not fob me off as a player that doesn't read the manual. I'm frankly insulted.
