Can the beta-backers have a little private meeting?

The game has gone off the rails into console land. It's not was was sold and marketed for two years. Shooter Commander is cheap and pure Microsoft.

I'm very angry that the game that was sold to me isn't being made now.

2 years of lies.

A) CQC is a terrible addition and should never be part of ED.
B) CQC is a fantastic addition and we should play it before XB1 players.
C) Both.

Make the existing game a lot better at the same time as introducing new, optional, board games and arena modes. To me it feels like we're getting new stuff (which has been of zero interest to me personally) so far. I realise I don't speak for everyone, of course, but there is a significant deep feeling that the core game needs more. They are slowly doing it, but it's too slow (again IMHO) when you factor the effort that has gone into these additions.

Powerplay - don't care, I can (and am) ignoring it... but happy for it to be in the game for others. Ditto CQC. But it feels like they're slowing down and/or changing the direction of the "basic" game. Basically bolting these things on instead of (rather than as well as) improving the core.

This beta backer couldn't care less one way or the other about a new PvP mode in a game where PvP simply isn't fun.

Don't care that it exists. Don't care that the console crowd gets it first. Don't care if it ever gets to PC. Wouldn't play it anyway. Ho hum.

when we get nothing, not even information for 3+ months at a time ... more releases per year than we're currently getting? I don't know, I don't have the magic answer to solve all the problems.

Start the launcher, you'll find there are two major updates (1.2 and 1.3) available. If you need information, check the new manuals that goes with it.

That's the main thing for me too. I want the stuff from the ddf. I feel like they've sidelined all that stuff for Powerplay and CQC neither of which was in the ddf.

If I was a pure pve player I'd be even more angry as the current mission content and mechanics are woefully lacking.

Read my sig, otherwise I would have done.
EDIT: I didn't mean this to come across as angry, because I'm not. No offence was intended.

The game is still good and still aimed at space sim fans , just I fear that maybe it wont be the case in some months , but I remain hopfull that it will

1. We paid more than retail to alpha/beta test.
2. xbox users are paying less than retail to beta test.
3. We already have an experienced pvp community with hundreds of hours of flight time who are better suited to give feedback on a pvp module.
4. We didn't want the arena module to start with because we've been crying out for content and hoped fd would be putting their time in to new content rather than an arena module. Since they didn't put the time in to content for the main game (stuff from the ddf etc) we feel entitled to have access to it as for a lot of payers we feel like we're in limbo right now waiting for fixes or promised content.
5. 1.3 breaks some of the pvp roles so a lot of players are looking for something to do until fd fix it. Tons of reported bugs from the beta bug forum are still in the game.
6. A lot of us think the 1.3 release was half baked due to them working on the E3 release (see 5).

Pretty much this.

Especially point #4, although I could care less about having access to this module, my concern is how bare bones the game has been since November and hoping, week after week, update after update, we would finally see some of that furniture Mr Braben talked about being added now that the foundations had been laid.

*Redacted, as that was a little unfair*

Turns out the little we did get was cheap crap from IKEA. And now we know why.

We didn't get the furniture as they moved the bed in to the kitchen and then started work on the swimming pool and conservatory :D

I'm pretty sure about a year ago this instant action arena thing was discussed and PC owners vote unanimously against it.

Since then all we have done is whine about wanting the game made more pick up and play and now we get it.

Every update so far on PC theres been nothing but complaints about it for various reasons. Released too soon, not tested enough. Now the consoles are the guinea pigs we suddenly start complaining about where our update is. :)

Founder level backer here and I am rather pleased with the new content just announced, I very much I doubt I will ever play it when it is released on PC. I shall assume it is optional, like everything else in Elite. I may give it a go on my Xbone though, just to see what it is like. Can I be a "console kiddie" in my 40s?

With luck this will please the very vocal PvP community we have here who have lets face it, been requesting a PVP environment for what seems like years already.

I can still play the Elite: Dangerous I choose to play. Hopefully this means they can too.

Soooo - you want them to fully develop, beta test, fix, integrate and release ALL future content on ALL platforms simultaneously?

Just how many realeses do you expect per year?

Simultaneously if possible. If not, then the PC first, where all their beta backers and the finance for this game in the first place, are based.

This just about sums up most of the discussion on E3 at the moment.
