I was sceptical about this but setting physix to CPU does indeed seem to reduce the supercruise stutter for me

I have an Nvidia GPU on the laptop - it is very fast, and it runs when Elite is running. But in the graphics options in ED it is clear that Elite doesn't know it exists. It thinks I have on board graphics only.
Isn't this the issue?
My computer knows what hardware I have - no doubt a casual hacker could figure it out - but ELITE? Oh no, I have on board graphics only.
ED will optimise for that - thanks.
P*ss poor.
Is this a separate graphics card? Onboard graphics can have either Intel, Nvidia, or AMD processors.
EDIT: If you have a separate card, try disabling your onboard graphics settings in the bios.
It is a gaming laptop - the GPU runs when Elite runs - it gets hot - it is doing the graphics for Elite - but in my graphics options Elite thinks I'm doing sums on an abacus...
Sounds like your onboard graphics is powered by Nivida so in essence Elite is reading it correctly and therefore, no problems since you only have 1 GPU
(that's Nvidia btw, not Nivida, that's like a hand cream.)
That's Nivea, BTW, not Nivida, that's a cave in Panama (among other things).

Lmao all from a silly typo, too funny.
Sometimes you just have to run with it and laugh.![]()
We don't use PhysX so I would be surprised if it makes any appreciable difference, but it's worth a try in case there's some driver issue.

I haven't found this near stations, but I have found this on all systems I have visited on uncharted space, I am exploring to the center of the galaxy and there is not a single sistem where the game DOESN'T stutter.
