So what are the Alpha Backers doing now!?

Jenner

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
Kind of in a holding pattern until more is added. Did Power Play a bit, but it's not really for me. Did faction missions for the Empire awhile back until I got to Baron and could get my Clipper. Now that I have that..... I dunno. :) I've dabbled in a lot from mining to exploration to piracy. We'll see what's coming down the pipe and I'll jump back in when the stars align so to speak.

Mainly missions and/or meddling in Minor Faction politics, some trading, some bounty hunting. Yet to do any serious Exploring or Mining. Still playing for an hour or two most days, and still enjoying it :)

DDF

I mainly do bounty hunting or a bit of CZ action. Tired of trading now, mining leaves me cold, and I'm a bit done with exploration too although I occasionally still go for a short hop out a few thousand LY and back for giggles and to get away from civilization. I originally thought I'd be mainly a trader and explorer, but combat is more appealing all the time. Whoda thunk it?

Asp / Cobra / Vulture / Type 6

Just cruisin' about :)

KS and Alpha Backer here, i have a Conda and im kinda bored. Cant be bothered to amass more credits as its zzZZzz.

A bit of everything, involved in PP, some diplomacy with Sirius, cleansing systems of pirate influence in a CG, and trading when profitable.

Got a battered old Python, 50% paintwork and mainly A and B modules. To paraphrase Han >

''She may not look much, but the powerplant was bloody expensive"

Forgot, I am an Alphan.

Recently I've been smuggling anything not tied down in my Asp. And smuggling a few tied down things too. Found a nice bunch of systems where people kept offering me multiple 100,000cr+ cargo missions, mixed in with 700,000cr - 1.2MCr 'kill 10 pirate' missions. Bought a Vulture with the proceeds. Sold the Vulture as I didn't like it compared to the Asp. Almost bought a Clipper, then thought 'well its not an Asp, so why bother'. Flew to Nevermore from HIP 6418, via Achenar, Shinrata Dehzra, and Alioth. Now off exploring. Oh, and religiously avoiding PowerPlay.
.
For all of my 'lack of DDF related stuff' moaning, I can still enjoy myself in-game. :)
.
Failing that I'm playing Survarium, and wishing everything I've ever installed could hold a candle to The Witcher 3. Which seems to be the pinnacle of human endeavour as far as I can tell. :)

Alpha backer here, I recently cleared my save (again) and I'm currently doing some mining in a lovely quiet pristine metallic area I've found.

DDF Backer.

Trading mainly, but plenty of combat and some exploring.
Not found anything in PP that's compelled me to take part. But you never know. Maybe when the Thargoids start making their presence known the factions will have to units and it'll be all hands to the pump just to survive.
Dunno.

Still enjoying the game as I understand that it's a work in progress. Got involved in PP, and do enough each week to maintain rank 4 as it's only a couple of hours to do. Other than that, doing what takes my fancy, aim to put maybe 10-12 hours in a week and spend time outside the game doing other things and playing other games.

Bit of everything really, trying to keep the three ranks at the same level. Often I mix exploring (honking within inhabited space), trading and combat in one 2.5 hour session.
Stopped doing rares when I was able to buy a T9, and haven't done any mining since gamma release. Have made it to the neutron fields 18kLY out, but got bored and didn't go on to visit Sag A*.

bored of being the biggest fish in the RES/Cz's fishtanks.
PP is a no go so decided to go honking in deep space

Right this second? Writing a forum post :)

Playing Starpoint Gemini 2 again right now; origins DLC, which I've not had a chance to play yet. Hardly a AAA game, but it's great fun.
Waiting for Gamescon announcement(s), and wondering if I should get a ticket and go; only 2.5 hour drive from here.
Not tried exploring yet really, so might kit out my ASP and try that once I finished with starpoint.

A bit weary atm, maybe burned out. Just pottering about finding conflict zones in a Vulture, always have a A-spec Cobra at the Founders world to taxi to my planet/station.
A bit of trading here and there, managed to rank up with the Empire despite the stupid rep decay mechanic so I can buy a Clipper. Will eventually buy the bigger ships, but in no real hurry.

Kickstart, Beta level but only recently in game on a laptop worth not very much more than the pledge + skins + pin badges put in. About three weeks in game, enjoying, though also realise there's lots on FD's to do list, especially if you don't find enough in the basic Frontier Elite 2 mechanics. I do, so don't think I'd have got bored, even from Alpha. Bimbling between roles, milking something for a bit, moving on to try something else. Though I do wish you could die, see ironman. Dual core lappy means populated space (well, docks) are not easy for the CPU to mash so tarting up an explorer for a spot of deep deep space "sample taking" (mining) .. then I'll be back to join which ever side is winning! (joke)

DDF

Exploring in an Asp, not really bothered ranking up. Been a bit busy of late but happy with the game.
