There are still swathes of the country without fast broadband, though. And in other countries it might be worse. It's going to be very interesting to see if FD's solution relies on peers having super-fast connections, to remove load from the others (and if so what will happen in sessions that don't have such a peer).

you know after all this time thinking and being exited about multiplayer in Elite Dangerous, I really think I will be going for single-player as it seems to solve almost every problem people have come up with ...
Have you updated your ED alpha launcher in last 7 days or so? Check out Alpha Forum they have thread for this.

Pecisk is correct, follow the advice listed in this announcement and don't forget to check your email for a verification code after you have the new client installed. It may likely end up in your junk email folder.

That's one of the problems, if they are new, they are unlikely to have forum access yet, also if an alpha wants or needs to post a discussion in the general forum does it need to be moved? I'm sure there are many threads that would be better served in the General area...
+1 to this, have had several interesting threads in the general section pulled from under me and moved to Alpha (I am only a scummy Beta+ after all)
I had thought the lack of NDA meant if Alphas wanted to discuss or ask us lower lifeforms our opinions they could <while kowtowing of course>;>

A naughty washing machine being the culprit. I think the Thargoids have been at it. Anyways, that was what I had in mind when leaving the thread here in the general area. Now to your problem. Ashley is the person to drop a PM to as he looks after the permissions to the different forum sections. He was snowed under with emails and PMs over Christmas and New Years. So he had a bit of a back log to get through. He is getting there now however. Here is a link to his profile. Same advice applies to you bdh326 if you don't have access to the Alpha forum yet, send Ashley a PM.

there will often by those without access to the Alpha forum as the Alpha is still open so issues like this are bound to crop up it may get really busy at times...
the thread will die will die naturally when this specific issue dies, but if these things get moved every time immediately, it'll just keep getting created if the situation repeats.
If the thread is useful to someone reply to it and +1, when no one responds for a day week, assume no-one gets the problem, and left it sink to obscurity where it was raised and die
Just a suggestion, but it will save the mods work...

I'm sure you mods can improve on the basic idea, an instruction to thank, and +1 if they had problem, and whatever appropriate, or sticky with a general principle of that instruction as a sticky ( as Mobius suggests) to do that for this type of problem thread... whatever you think will work best.
