SECURE HIP 116213 Cg

Hello everyone

Quick question , In the system with the community goal at HIP 116213, there are loads of areas marked 'violent protest' which I am assuming within these you take out ships and earn towards the community goal by handing any kills in at the station . They seem broken to me as you can only pick one side and no one is fighting. Is this a bug or are these nothing to do with the community goal?

The violent protests are Powerplay (Antal) related and in no way affect the Community Goal.

EDIT: I will say that I think they are making the CG more difficult. There seems to be an upper limit of the # of NPCs in system...when 75% are Antal's messengers and overseers it makes finding bounties really slim.

I popped into a Violent Protest area having made that same assumption - and quickly realised my mistake when I shot one Sidey and about 10 other ships turned red and my shields collapsed...

I got a foot on the ladder by roaming around in SC looking for ships aligned to whoever-it-is-we're-meant-to-be-shooting, and interdicting them. There weren't many last time I was there!

Entirely power play related. Nav beacon, uss or fly in super cruise and interdict to find wanted ships. Best bet is to just sit in the nav beacon and wait for ships to spawn. This way at least if you get a wing of wanted ships you'll get some help from system authority ships. Slim pickings though. I've been working at it for about 4 or 5 hours and only have 800000 I'm bounties. 5hough that is enough for 15 percent and the reward for that is 6 mil at the moment.

And I note griefers are out. My first experience of such: one little asp can't stand up to two imperial couriers. I've no cargo, was interdicted, no chat from them, and very swiftly killed.

Hrmpf, Elite: Dangerous indeed. Best bug out somewhere safe to bump up funds if I'm going to start dying regularly!

Violent Protests are brutal. Heavy combat ships are a must if you want to live- don't forget your SCBs!

Curious, are you pledged? because I'm pledged to Li Yong-Rui and had 2 commanders try and take me out yesterday while working on the CG, but only because I am with a different power.

Do you remember the names of the Commanders or what Power they were pledged to?

I don't remember their names but they weren't pledged to Antal if you are thinking maybe they were breaking the "treaty". They were both pledged to aisling I think. One interdicted me and while I am good at combat, my cobra won't fair too well against a kitted Python so I ran, probably made him quite angry as just before I could jump into SC my ship started to overheat lol. The other one, I accidentaly rammed in the Nav Beacon, said sorry, he said, don't worry that was intentional, proceeded to shoot me, I turned around rammed his Clipper again (at which point I was down to 3 percent hull) he then said "Good show, I let you live". So, both times I escaped lol.
