30,000 ships through Eravate in last 24 hours

No NPC ships show in the traffic reports

All open + pvt group + solo.

My current theory is each ship can count more than once, Every time you go the main menu means you will count again.
Well that is my current theory anyway, it does seem to change with the seasons.

We used to dream about a docking bay. After an 'ard day in the pits my Dad would park the ship on a nearby asteroid, let us out to scavenge for a handful of gravel for dinner then beat us for six hours until bed time. But we wus happy in them days.

We used to dream about being beaten for six hours until bed time! Asteroid?.. we had cold dark Vacuum!

It's not a theory, it counts all player ships every time they dock, so if someone's going back and fourth a lot, it counts them every trip.

Actually like that measurement better. While it doesn't give as good a sense of unique visitors, it does give a much better sense as to how busy each station is.

Either way you look at it, the activity of both volume and total traffic are up, which is healthy for the game.

Numbers aren't all players

Actually, they are. We did some testing a while back. NPCs are not included. However, it doesn't count unique commanders. If you visit the system twice, then you get counted twice. At least that is how it was months ago, unless they have changed it.

EDIT: Oh, someone already pointed this out.

Went to see for myself and it is very busy. I also have a sad report below:

I got engaged by a player Eagle against my Anaconda with 100 credit bounty (friendly fire, isn't).
Since im a sport I took his shields down did 1% or 2% hull damage and let him recover. As he backed off Im set upon by 4 other CMDR's with the best ship being a Cobra. Tried to comms and ask if its worth it for the now 400 credit bounty but then the Eagle zoomed back in, faceplanted into my shields and died.
5000Cr bounty so I decided to leave without killing anyone else, sorry to that CMDR in the Eagle, I was actually trying to help by lowering wanted targets to low hp before letting the starter players take the kills..

Ah well, one re-spawned every minute :D

It is incredibly busy thanks to the sale. Most noobwinders I've ever seen. I'm very tempted to show my wanted self around in Eravate and have some fun...

Too tempted. That's the plan, when I log in next!

I got attacked by like 10 sidewinders at once, all of which got confused as hell by me doing some basic maneuvouers and ending up behind them with many a laser being shot up their asses.

Oh the joy of new players.

Strongly stating right up front that if someone attacks you, they are completely fair game no matter what they are flying - I've been vocal about "pvp" griefers and I am definitely NOT calling this anything like that. So clear on that.

But question - given that new players will be, well...new players. You know as sure as the sun rises that you will be attacked if you go there. You know you will be attacked by largely unskilled lambs to slaughter even if you downgraded your own ship to equivalent sidewinder.

You know that you would have to literally try to lose and still probably win. Is there some joy of shooting fish in a barrel I don't understand here?

There was a good sport in an Anaconda at the Nav Point there with a 500,000 bounty letting people have a go at him. I gave it a try in my Cobra but he gave me an easy smack down to about 50% hull then let me run. He was a good sport whoever he was.

One of them was mine :) Loving the game so far. A steep learning curve, but nothing an avid 30 yo gamer like myself couldn't handle. I guess I have to buy a HOTAS now, though I'm managing trade just fine with my keyboard.

I came back from walking my dog at around 7:30 PM and I played until 4 AM wiht work from 9AM the next day (and walking the dog before that)...

It took me a while to beat the first two combat scenarios, space combat was really hard before I read somewhere to bind 50% reverse throttle to a hotkey.

Then, I went in and decide to trade, took a mission to supply progenitor cells. I was in my stock sidewinder. The planned route was 24 jumps haha. A few minutes later i learned that you can run out of fuel stranded lightyears away from the nearest station.

But then I kind of got the hang of it, now I dock like a champ and I even got the hang of silent running. Made almost 500k in my first night of playing, and I can't wait to buy a Cobra when I get back. If anyone wants to message me, I will hang around in federation space (gonna get my cobra from Gidzenko Ring in Chamunda). IGN is the same.

Since I can't seem to edit my post, I made my 500k mostly by doing "smuggle these here imperial slaves" missions that paid 60 to 90k per mission.

I was liking your post until the smuggling slaves part! *notes name down* :)

According to the traffic report there's been about 30,000 ships through Eravate in the last 24 hours, nearly 20k of them being sidewinders. I guess this means the sale has attracted a lot of new players. Great news for everyone!

edit : Just checked steam game stats and the game is at an all time peak at this very minute of 10,000 odd players.

Give it a couple of days.....until they find the grind and the novelty wears off :)

We used to dream about being beaten for six hours until bed time! Asteroid?.. we had cold dark Vacuum!

Vacuum? We lived on't edge of an event horizon. Shredded down t'sub atomic particles we'd have to reassemble ourselves before breakfast. Then walk back t'nearest galaxy with just a lump of bauxite for food.

But they're free range, dolphin-freee net caught slaves....quality guaranteed.

Even though it's a game it's the only thing I won't do!

That and crushing popular uprisings!

The two things I won't do...

Oh, and I'll have nothing to do with any hierarchy.

The three things....

Yes. When those fish are human pilots in sidewinders.

Look, I can't help enjoying spaceship-murder. I was made this way dammit. I'm mostly a decent cmdr. I even do nice things sometimes. Just occasionally I have to murder someone.

Ever had debris on your windscreen that just won't budge, and your wipers just smear it back and forth? That's Eravate that is.

Ah he'll be fine. Rebuy of about 5K. Fair play to him for going for it against a CMDR in a Conda for 100 credits.

EDIT: Also had to take out a wanted CMDR while there...oh well...they have to learn sometimes! :D

You didn't have to. You wanted to, and enjoyed it.

And what would that be called, attacking newbies during their first day in their birth system, mmh? Face the horrible truth: you're a griefer :p

And don't tell me that puny 400c bounty on their heads was that sexy to you.
