let´s hope it´s not another pre-rendered not actual gameplay footage trailer of planetary landings, that would be the ultimate slap in the face. As if the first one with the walking pilots wasn´t bad enough, hopefully they have learned from the backclash of showing stuff that has nothing to do with the game.

I'm sure Frontier have been paying enough attention to the community at this point to know that most people are expecting and hoping for planetary landings out of this announcement. So, I think if it weren't planetary landings, they would have already clearly let us know it's not, so as to avoid really ing off a majority of the community if it turned out to not be that. But so far, planetary landings is the topic they've been eerily silent on when it comes up regarding this announcement...making me think that's probably what it is.
I personally am stoked about it. The rest of you haters can suck a fat one, this game is great already and it's only going to get greater. I think you guys have topped off Frontier's hate tank now, meanwhile their positive tank is on "E".

£10 paintjobs for Anaconda will be available in December.
Their website still promotes features which are not in the game, so wouldn't bet on it.

Could it possibly be a hardcore Elite, dedicated to PC, with exploration gameplay as its base foundation, and absolutely no gimmicks like PP...?

You really think that PL will be a huge boom for exploration?
PL will be 'pewpew on the ground' it has to be otherwise it wouldn't be viable - pewpew sells games not Exploration.
Iv said b4 when PL arrives us Explorers will be left to drift off into the woods to look at trees, while the rest of the community blow each other to bits in cities.

I'm just glad that 1.4 isn't just CQC. Indeed CQC seems to have been put in the shadows for whatever this new release is.
Planetary landings would make sense as that was in one of the old versions and you'd expect the makers to want to replicate everything that has gone before.
If we have walking about are we going to get different avatar models to chose from?
And there will be a huge raft of other stuff that I may get more excited about than what ever the headline is. Missions, ships, AI improvement, more drones...

You think there will be cities with PL? That's cute, you still have hope.
Personally I've been underwhelmed by announcements and surprises by (not just Frontier) but Developers in General. Usually because getting something that works, after the barage of idea's, coding, testing, and finally having a new feature that is deliverable is ALWAYS an exciting and proudfull prospect for dev's
This Something colossal is..........Comets, and missions based around finding, tracking, mining rares or defending planets from them, where mining lasers are required to dismember the comets (or landing a special one of drone on it).
Or just the visual addition of them, and that's it.
Planetary landing, walking around the ships, passengers? all the stuff we crave.....highly doubt it.

Well either it's a continuation of the simmering feud he's had with David Braben (which afaik is 'in the past but not forgotten'), something he's doing on his own (which would most likely have copyright issues!?), or Ian and David have kissed and made up and will be doing the gaming equivalent of a Led Zeppelin reunion (which I'd actually find more unlikely than Led Zepp getting back together!)

Maybe he saw the wasted DDA that FD binned and decided to do it some justice. It's not copyrighted afaik
