Download available in lifetime pass product listing - NOT

Since I had to do a complete reinstall of EVERYTHING to get rid of W10, I found myself in my available downloads page of the Frontier store. I got rather excited when I saw that there was a download option next to my lifetime pass product listing. Thinking that maybe the Beta had gone live I jumped on it but alas it was just the EliteDangerous-Client-Installer exe file. Serves me right.

hi i buy the elite: dangerous Lifetime Expansion Pass, but i cant find aber the buying any download link or key.

but i cant find after the buying any download link or key in the interface on frontier shop page.

Did you get an email confirming your purchase?

If you did open a tick and ask them where your code is. If you made an account in the ED store the password is the same that you used in the ED store.

Click on the open ticket button.

If you do not already have Elite Dangerous then you should have gotten a email with a key or something so you can download and activate ED.

If you already have ED then you will not get any kind of key until ED Horizons is released.

You don't even get a receipt, which is worrying. A thanks would be nice after forking out the equivalent price of 3 other games.

When I bought ED last year and when I bought the life time pass yesterday I got an email confirming the order. I got another email with the key for ED. Since ED Horizons is not released I did not get a email key for ED Horizons and do not expect to until it is released for Beta access.

Also in the store when you complete the order there is an option to print the confirmation/receipt, but you do have to click on the option to get a printed receipt.

i have a store account, and i get a mail confirm with complete status. but i cant find the game in the download area on the store page.
i dont have any other parts from the game, thats the first buy of ed.

You can not download the lifetime pass and there is no beta available at the moment.
As you already experienced the links provided just give you the launcher. As soon as there is more available to download you should see it on your launcher because it won't use another.

Why did you get rid of W10? That bad? I can download it now, bu I dont really want to.

I found it awful - looks dreadful, really interferes with file / folder access, has tons of bloatware, in E D clicking on exit from map screens minimises to desktop 9 times out of ten (the lower left area of the screen is too sensitive to this) and worst of all NO HEARTS GAME! lol

I might put it on my secondary machine which has w8.1 on it which is also rubbish.

If you have received the order confirmation email then please try downloading the launcher using this link: http://hosting.zaonce.net/elite/Client-Installer.exe

If this is not working OR if you have not received your confirmation email then please do create a support ticket and we will be glad to help get you your pass.

Lifetime Expansion Pass pricing model

Hey guys,

I still don't understand the idea behind the pricing model for the LEP. Let me quote a part of the discription in the store:

"Play Elite Dangerous today and then play Elite Dangerous: Horizons when it lands Holiday 2015."

This means, that a new player can play ED now and get the upcomping seasons when they launch, and has to pay £130. An existing player already paid £40 for ED (season one) and now has to pay another £120 (£130 - £10 loyalty bonus), makes it £160 for the same product. Or, if you want to turn the point of view, a new player has to pay £90 for the LEP (£130 - £40 for season one). Well, that's a great offer. Unfortunately I'm an existing player. And a message like this doesn't draw a good picture about Frontier's pricing model and/or customer retention.

Nobody expects free content, but a fair treatment. I'm honestly disappointed. You certainly won't bother about me, but you my take this as a hint.

If you don't like the price, don't buy it. That is literally all it comes down to. They offer you a product. They do not kick your shopping cart over, grab your wallet and hold it above your head trying to force this item on you.

Thanks, I came to this conclusion on my own. A good argument for this price model would be great. If yours was the only "argument", well, that would tell a lot about it.

A lifetime pass price should remain the same if you are eight years old or eighty, in my opinion. Such is the nature of these kinds of products.

That's what I'm talking about. A lifetime pass price should remain the same for everyone. But with the current price model, new players get the same products cheaper than existing players.
