Not off topic at all, the more ideas the merrier - take a look at the wiki linked off the first page to see what has been tested, what hasn't, theories disproved, theories still in play, etc. The capital ship thing has come up several times, including possible links to Starship One disappearance if it had been a capital ship, and speculation as to whether it might have been carrying a UA (and then Galnet links to Antares). No strong evidence of any UA involvement though, although some folks would like to see one sold to Sirius Corp. just in case, while at least one person thinks taking a UA to the star Antares might lead to something. Others think there is no connection to any of the above.

We don't have enough UAs to test all the weapons but mining lazors and a few normal lazors have been tried. The issue is that we lack any precedent to try a weapon as nothing would indicate that kind of action.

Crazy idea... what about the Alliance Redeemer beam laser? it only does heat damage to ships. Perhaps some heat might get it to "incubate" ? :D

Tuesday 11th August - 1930hrs BST - Mobius - Timocani - Duration As It Happens

This is not another full-on Biscuit Barrel, per se. I was chatting in-game with DelMonte and Outspan just after the UA popped and we arranged to meet up there and then for another wing-up camp-out.
Figured it was best to open it up on the forum here. If you're game, come on down. More the merrier, naturally.
I'm no authority. Autonomy is king. However, essentially as with Biscuit Barrel itself yesterday, please ensure you are winging up with other commanders agreeing to either go all "My Precious" on the little cur, or "Here, kitty-kitty, I've a bag near a river for you..."*
Assuming a success - Unless a willing former Bearer is preferred as recipient of the UA, I shall be happy to 'keep it parked' in my hold prior to passing on while a finalised expiration test and team are put together.

Re: Another Biscuit Barrel - if nobody else wants to beat me to it, or I get gagged, I shall probably start putting up some couple-of-bricks-of-text posts for a Sunday 23rd sequel, being enough time for people to know about it comfortably in advance for another 4hr session.

* Too much? I guess the purrs set off my evil side.

Wikia page is kinda good starting point. But one thing bothers me - why do we assume that radiation what's flowing from it is meant to harm anyone? I suspect it is just how these artifacts are getting powered.

Refuel station for thargoid ships?

Virus theory seems a bit straight forward and there's no proven link between outbreaks and UA. Also I believe if that would be Thargoids goal it would be way more systematic. Just add gold or platinum canisters with unknown bacteria and have fun.

They certainly want to be found by their owners, judging by transmissions.

Also it might be possible you have to hit UA in certain point with kinetic power to trigger something.

there is only ONE LOW PURR and no BG VID 8 sound at all. And three ships watching the UA very close.
Better than Sleipnir I may say...

EDIT: I will carefully watch all the other ones later, as I'm still on holidays, with low web access...
But please, take some time, and watch them as well.

EDIT: THE NUMBER OF SHIPS LISTENING AT IT, VERY CLOSE, IS BECOMING VERY IMPORTANT, AS I SAID MANY TIMES BEFORE TODAY, STARTING FROM THE SLEIPNIR EXPERIMENT.

I'm not exactly sure shooting at an extremely rare and mysterious object from god who knows where is a good idea. Yet.

Has anyone tried taking the Artefact into a closet, spinning around, and saying "Thargoid" three times fast?

My take on the Bacteriophag hint is that it is a hint, not an answer.

It is quite obvious that the UA is not a bacteriophag, it's a bit to big.

So, what is a bacteriophag?
It's a living carrier of a bunch of smaler living things.

It's a bus for virus and the bus is a bacteria.

The UA is probably the same. It's alive and it's full of other living creatures.

Yes - it is general station radio chatter stuff (name of station?) IIRC. We had initially confused the two way back when and discounted the Morse from the UA. Jmanis and QorbeQ and gang can provide more details.

This hint could actually be thought as:
"The UA is some kind of bacteria-killer, because it uses a special frequency and signal
to scan orbital bodies and installations, which is lethal to the ceberus-pathogen."

Just my angle on it.
I still think it has something to do with "Raxxla" or a hiden POI in a system.

Sorry but, as it seems very important to me, I'm quoting myself and upping...

A wing of FOUR very very very close to the UA, listening. And something interesting will happen:
I'm almost sure that the purrs will disappear completely.

Yes it could, but the UA has never seemed to make any difference to the plauge.

I realy hope it can find Dark systems :)

Another wild remark, no idea if it is any good. But I noticed some outposts make rather weird noises when you are docked to them or close. So I just did a bit of flying around the station and found this part.
Again, no idea if it actually does anything, but did other people notice this?

Edit: It appears to be a docking or coupling thing.

However did the following tests

Fuel drone wont lock and launch so nothing
Prospector drone wont target and lock on and couldn't hit it with one
Refinery Bin on board scoped back up and no effect so scratch that one
Last night did Orca testing
Sensors, discovery scanner etc...........

If it was designed only to reveal its final secret to a full wing of four, that would, IMO, be somewhat silly (and biased against folks who don't play in wings, let alone full wings, which goes against FDev's own "play the game the way you want to play" marketing). That said it should be an easy test to cross off the list if one of the UA holders wants to try it.

Not to mention we have had at least one found by someone in solo.... so.. It seems like it'd have to be something solvable by solo brethren for similar reasons. Just an assumption, worth trying but I don't hold out much hope on that one.
