Makes me wonder if we've even made any progress since the start of this second thread............

No we didn't.
But you should really take a look at the video I'm screaming about all day ;)
You should be able to reproduce the same situation very easily, with the help of other three volunteers.
It'd be nice to know what those CMDRs in the video where carrying in their holds, btw.

I also think that the ships' mass could be important as well.

Second video, small one:

Can't find anything interesting about the audio posted earlier. Maybe it's space getting to me, but the beginning has faint sound that barely sounds like distorted speech.

Definitely space getting to me.

Has jumping to Frame Shift (low and high), just at the RIGHT moment the ship "touches" it, been tested?

1) See where the UA "points to" (it's been suggested its form resembles that of an arrow). Maybe there's a star it's pointed towards to (several FSD's ranges to test)?
2) Beginning at the minimum distance you can be near it, take the opposite direction it points to and accelerate JUST the amount of time/speed it would take to engage FSD at the right moment the ship "touches" it when done going towards the UA / direction it points to, and either:

3) Make the jump countdown start just as the ship 'touches' it.
3.a) Make the jump start (reaching 00:00 - taking into account the 4 secs it takes the FSD to engage, at full speed) just as the ship touches it.

Alternative:
As it is known that the UA transmits in Morse Code the name of the nearest body, make this test but instead point the whole run towards the main star of the system it is found on (this would require testing FSD into supercruise).

Maybe engaging FSD near it, or 'touching it' at the right moment - (pointing either towards where it points to or towards the system's main star) results in an affected jump (like the one of SS1)?

Cheers!

There is ALWAYS a purr in the howls: so We do not count them anymore.
We are taking just the five between the howls. Usually five, now One. In Sleipnir we had three. Your observation doesnt change the fact.
I'm talking about the short video btw, the second one.

There are 2 complete UA cycles, NO bg sound (VID 8), and only one purr between the two howls.

Who are "we"? Im telling you i hear more than one purr between each howl. I would take caution in using the word "fact" in this thread. :)

As of this post, we are at 63 members! If any one else would like to be apart of the group please spam my inbox! It's okay... i like it ;)

Nuenets the system that seems to harbor a dark secret? I was just there.. Not much action.

Might also be Horizons foreshadowing as well - planetary base or some such.

Well, yes we have, mostly thanks to you and the other UA holders, as you guys (with infinite patience for our mad theories I should add) have crossed a bunch of possibilities off the list of theories between you doing all those tests, and provided lots of video and audio for folks who don't have UAs to (over)analyse. So don't listen to the naysayers. Take a read through Zoltan's last few posts a few pages back and see what you think of his dark systems/dark worlds theories. Might be worth trying one or more of them out at Soontill or Peregrina or the like?

So you are not watching the same video I'm talking about.
Duration 1:04
Howl + purr at 14s
Very low purr at 30s almost inaudible
Other very low purr at 40s
Final howl + purr at 47s

So yes, there are TWO inbetween purrs, not ONE, but the first is barely audible, but it is still better then Sleipnir recording, the only one with 3 purrs.
Moreover the morse chittering is incredibly clear, without the VID 8 BG sound that, I remember you, is ALWAYS present in all the other recordings, except Sleipnir.

EDIT: perhaps you are mistaking the very clear chittering for purrs? ;)
Sorry but the Two inbetween purrs are a fact.
And WE are the CMDRs analyzing the sound since day one, like myself ;)

Biscuits required all around, and some nice tea. I hear the Heike blend is particularly soothing. ;-)

Here's a link to that post, just in case https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=162998&p=2673646#post2673646

*turns tinfoil hat up to 11*

The goal of the UA is to organically create a faction in game that is focused solely on scientific progression and contact with the Thargoids.

We are going to be the bad guys of the game one day.

Lol - yeah, having a few like-minded friends in game might become really useful as we start getting hounded by INRA (or worse) ships ;)

Randomus Factoria save us! The Reddit crowd have linked to the wiki. I suppose this could be a good thing, but why do I have this suspicion it will be unreadable and incomprehensible in a few days?

I think at the beginning of the video, on Ratking's part during the Sleipnir experiment, there were only two purrs during at least two full cycles. I might be mistaken.

Perhaps. I cannot check it now, but I remember 3. I've listened to that recording a hundred times.
Btw this thing needs further deepening, dont you think? There were 5 CMDRs there as well. With their holds full of goodies.

Well to be honest I posted that because I had the audio file opened in Audacity and there were only two real purrs on Ratking's audio. :D As for Zenith, three. I strongly believe the purrs - and the howls? - are here to distract us from the message lying underneath. When watching the new video you shared - hence my question about the sounds produced by SAP8s, I noticed that the UA seems to be producing other kinds of strange sounds, that were probably purrs before. The proximity of the ships inhibited the purrs to reveal the new sounds. (I think!)

Only if the Thargoids lose...

the feds will shun us for stealing from their convoys...
they will blame the Thargoids for halsey...

The public will blame us for spreading the plague... we will have no where else to turn for help...
then the thargoids will come and we will have to band with them to survive...

(theres already a thargoid faction found in the game files btw) :D

I can show you what I mean tomorrow but I'm unsure if you are still disagreeing with me. I think acting as an authority on mystery solving is doing yourself a disservice btw.

So, just came across this, created on August 5th:

http://elite-dangerous.wikia.com/wiki/Bleia_Sector_Theory

This seems so vague and unsourced and implausible (dare I say inaccurate - UAs supercruising?) that I don't have much faith in it (particularly as its author did not put it on our wiki, or this thread for input), but would be interested if others have heard anything at all about such events? Without putting too fine a point on it, and without someone like Erimus backing it up, all the alarm bells are screaming fake to me.

There is also this, somewhat short, thread:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=174252

This is the sort of thing I am afraid Reddit may bring to our UA wiki. That said, there may be something to it and my views may be coloured by events of earlier today and long ago.

Edit: I'm not in game, but can someone take a look and see if there are any permit systems in this sector, or if the sector itself is permitted like Regor? And that's me done for tonite.
