It's more to do with people focusing on the name of the game to justify their point of view that the game should be dangerous, rather than me trying to impose rules that players shouldn't be able to kill other players in Open - that would be ridiculous of me to say that.
So, pure semantics, got it.

I was being sarcastic when I used Elites name, I figured that was obvious, but let me clarify, I don't care if it's called:

Elite: Butterfly, Purple rainbows and ponies. (Sounds like an expansion)...

Anyway, it's a space game where your in a hostile universe haveing to survive and make your way, meeting friends and making enemies as you .. play the game.

Not sure how any of what were suggesting goes against that, in fact it just makes it better and a lot more interesting then a bunch of empty space with nothing in it... (in my opinion).

That KOS list is a third party creation that exists entirely on it's own. It doesn't need guilds to serve it's purpose. You're also forgetting the positive aspect of KOS lists, and that's to keep passive players from interacting with those people. If they see the name of a pirate on a KOS list while flipping through the contacts they can make leave before he ever gets the chance to interdict.

Ah, so this isn't even a thing built-in to EvE then. What was that I was reading earlier about all these tools need to be built into Elite...

I don't think that justification has been made in the last 100+ posts, nor acknowledged as a legitimate point in the discussion ever, so why are you harping against it?

And using the old "It's called Elite: Dangerous so it should be dangerous"isn't semantics?

Got it.
Not sure why you asking me since I never said it.

Get it?

Elite: Dangerous - play your own way. Join our guild or die :D
Join a space Hatsune Nikki or die? Join an edgy Albino Ron Perlman or die? Drop cargo or die? DIEDIEDIE? Sounds familiar? Because all are part of the Elite experience as intended by the devs.

Actually it is built in to Eve. And in Eve you can organize people on your contacts by the degree of your relationship with them (very good, neutral, very bad, just bad, etc...) keep notes on previous interactions with them since you are likely to have hundreds of people on that list, and have all of that information immediately available in two clicks to review, modify or remove. Goons KOS list covers every game that community plays, they aren't an Eve Exclusive group.

Still haven't stated how this differs from the current state of the game.

It was... even if it was in "sarcasm"...

Simply put - there are no guilds in Elite. There are players pretending to be in guilds of course, but that doesn't make them legitimate. It doesn't really matter to me though - any player acting in such a way will get the same reaction from me - a hearty laugh and escape or self-destruct for lulz.

I don't understand how he's able to keep a straight face saying this.

I don't need an any excuse to kill a player and it's not for you to decide how meaningfull it is if it obeys in game rules. There are no rules banning PvP and no anti-PvP gestapo around to enforce such bans. Same applies to PvE, no one is going to punish you for practicing it. There are consequences but I'm ready to deal with them. And yes, Open includes freeform PvP by design, like it or not.

What I really don't get is what this ye olde Solo vs Open debate has to do with ingame guilds and player owned structures?

Not sure why you asking me since I never said it.

Get it?

Oh boy... because as I've quoted above, you made that comment in reply to a post I made?

Got that now? :)

Sorry bub, nobody has ever NEEDED support in-game for a guild to be a guild. Any organized group of players falls under that category. This entire discussion about guilds is simply for providing them with in-game support. They exist regardless of your willingness to recognize them.

Then everything is settled. I have always supported in game comm tools. What more could be needed? Everything a guild needs, they have. We can move on then.

So if they already exist, why are they crying out for guilds? Make do with what you've got, no need to change the game to pander to their needs to the detriment of others.

I told you, quality of life. Creature comforts. Simplifying the process keeps people enjoying the game longer because they spend more time playing the game and less time trying to make the game enjoyable.

And you're still assuming that guilds will have a negative impact on the game without any justification for that opinion.
