Community Event / Creation Printable Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS reference sheet

fanastic work thanks so much for this, been playing about for an hour trying to find the best setup and this looks to be it! I've been mapping them like crazy until I realised I wasn't sure how to do the modifiers, now I realise I can install a bindings file lol

thanks again

Glad you like it. :)

Here is my latest:

I'm wondering same thing. I like smacker's layout, but when I copy it into my binds file, it's not acting like I think it should...for example, pressing the flight button on the hotas doesn't enable the hat to be thrusters. not sure if I copied something wrong or the .binds file is out of date...

I tried that but then the engine boost fires - which is from the default file - telling me I've done something drastically wrong with naming the file or something.

Am I doing this right?

I replaced the custom.binds contents with all the data from the smacker's .binds file, save it.
Open up elite, go into options -> controls, select custom and hit apply. The key mappings are correct, but when I get into the game, it's like it's not using that file.

What am I doing wrong?

I was already halfway getting used to my bindings when i found this, so didnt try your config. But kudos all the same, vry useful post! Took a printable blank pdf for myself, so thx for that too ^^

Here's my config, using both 8 and 9 as shift buttons:

Cheers!
I am very new at this and like the way you have it set up in the link by not having to use keyboard buttons. Only thing is I am unsure on how to set up the Shift 1 and Shift 2 options. Do I need to set up three different custom settings in E:D Options>Controls ie one for Normal operation and then two more ie Shift 1 & Shift 2. I have checked out this whole thread and a couple of others but most of them appear to be of the "this is how I have mine set up" variety but none really explain how to do it if you understand what I mean. Would much appreciate a heads up to either a thread or a tutorial on this pointed at the new beginner to HOTAS joysticks.

The way i set shift up is this.
In control options in ED, you simply click on the button to change, then press both shift and the other button required as you would in game. ED records both keys to that control.
You can then go through the required controls, using same shift key with other buttons, and then if you run out of buttons, you can use another shift button (shift 2) and also you can still use the other buttons on it's own, but leave shift buttons only for shift function.

Got that. I have configured it in a way that I am beginning to understand and have completed some of the tutorials, the travel one was the one I had most problems with, not so much the leaving and travelling via Hyper and Supercruise modes but finding the entrance to the destination station and then landing in the designated spot took me a good few attempts to figure out but have got it more or less sussed now. One question I have though is on the right hand joystick there are two buttons preset and mapping, I haven't used them so far I just set up the joystick under a custom option in the games Control settings screen. I did notice though that if I don't open this screen and apply the "Custom" setting it reverts to the default settings. How do you others use the Hotas X preset and mapping controls?

I am back with update. I had done long time, but I start play and test it right now :). Any comments and ideas are welcome ;).

Enjoy

I have played Elite Dangerous before about 6 months ago and enjoyed it. I have since then built a new computer. Since reinstalling the game I am not able to import a custom .binds file. It simply will not show up in the preset pulldown list as an available option.

I am using T.Flight Hotas X Crab setup v5.37 custom keybinds and have put them in the folder "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings" folder. They are NOT showing up as a preset.

Link to file:
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showth...=16140&page=24

What I have tried:

Running game as administrator
Making sure I have full permission to all folders/subfolders
Copied "T.Flight Hotas X Crab setup v5.37.binds" code into "Custom.binds" file
Deleted Custom.binds file
Used multiple different usb ports 3.0/2.0
Uninstalled/reinstalled game
Validate game files

I might be requesting a refund. Any help would be appreciated.

Thought I post my setup & .binds for anyone that comes across this thread as I did.
I've modified it to include some of the functions required for wings.
The link below is to the google doc and there is a link to the .binds file within the doc.

Hope someone at least finds it useful!

Just bought my first Hotas. New binds worked from the first try like a charm. Coming from keyboard+joystick, this is totally new experience! Huge immersion and precision jump. Although, triggers are little to softy for me, compared to my old sturdy Trust Predator GM-2500, precison is much improved, no regret for buying. Also bought one Eagle to train flight assist off. :)

Thank You CMDR Lee for above mentioned setup. Looks very natural too me, muscle memory developing fast.
