THE 65000 LY FROM SOL CLUB
Greetings fellow Explorers, as requested by many Vets, I'm creating a list of the CMDRs that breached the 65KLY distance from Sol. The aim of this thread is not to be a mere list tough, in fact with the current FSD technology that distance is as much as you can get far from humanity home system. And you can reach that distance only going in a very specific place: The Far Galactic Rim, where the Carina Sagittarius arm fades out into nothingness. To reach that very specific place you have to cross the Abyss, the gap between the Scutum Centaurus and the Carina Sagittarius arms, one of the lowest star density region in the entire Milky Way. After that in the rim star density doesn't get much better and the last leg is exausting. So this expedition not only requires endurance, but also very good navigational skills in forms of lenghty detours, and the chilling art of manually jumping on fumes.

All of this has created a series of failures, successes, routing, record breaking and historical happenings. In other words emergent gameplay created by players. The aim of the thread is also to tell these stories.

RULES
Club Membership
1: Go 65000 LY from Sol or more.
2: Distance is always calculated from Sol, not your starting point.
3: Making it back alive is not a requirement to join the Club.
In order to prove you have been there submit a picture that shows your distance from Sol. If you already went away a Gal Map picture with a system over the 65k line, that shows explored (white icon) to you will do the job.

Your personal Max Distance from Sol

If you want you can submit your personal max distance from Sol. Only a screenshot with the distance is required.

Absolute Max Distance from Sol Record
Records will be in red colour. Date records cannot be beaten, unless you invent a time-travel device. Distance records are in red too. Every section has its records. Since the introduction of jump-boosts, Club Members decided to prevent CMDRs from boosting all the way out, stranding themself from humanity. Safety first! Also the Absolute Distance Record from Sol is something quite big and unique, there can be only one. For all these reasons I will accept, and put in red, an Absolute Max Distance from Sol Record only when Universal Cartographics register it in their database. What is required is a screenshot with system name and distance from Sol, and a screenshot of the system Map where the main star is tagged with your name. If you think you have beaten the ABSOLUTE MAX DISTANCE FROM SOL RECORD you might want to keep the system name secret untill you have sold the data.
Current records, both for a single expedition or for a rendezvous, where obtained in pre-boost era and will always last. When they'll be beated I will change their colour in Orange.
For sake of clarity I cannot distinguish if you obtained an ABSOLUTE MAX DISTANCE FROM SOL RECORD with or without boosts. The boost era has begun, from now on everything is considered boost-able.

* P.B.D. (Pre-Boost-Departure): these expeditions departed before the jump boost tech was released, so even if they are in the "boost era" they couldn't take advantage of that technology while navigating the Far Out Rim

SPECIAL MENTION
This section is made for all the CMDRs that couldn't cross the 65K line, but made inhuman efforts to do so, making their expedition an epic journey. These pilots have a full Club membership, but aren't counted on the main list.
1: CMDR R4nger0 - 58,000LY from SOL - This CMDR departed from the bubble in a Sidewinder with the intention to go as far as possible from Sol. Having reached the Abyss he couldn't cross it due to low FSD jumprange. He is rumored to be still out there in his Sidewinder. CMDR R4nger0 recently made contact and in fact he is still out there: you can follow the stram of his adventures here

In the map of The Far Galactic Rim you can see where you have to go to join the Club. It is not a matter of just jumping north untill you get there. You have to cross the Abyss. The Svenno Crossing is where a 41LY Anaconda can cross, altough a lot of running on fumes is required for that beast too. The Roncevaux Crossing is where a 25LY Cobra could cross, and it is situated 8000Ly east of the meridian. Wich means that, if you went straight from Sagittarius A*, you have to make a detour southeast and then northwest that can be 25000LY long with 25LY jumprange. How much you have to detour depends on your jumprange, and it's something between Svenno Crossing and Roncevaux Crossing. The yellow line in the map shows the detour that CMDR Erimus, the first to get there, had to endure with a 35LY ASP. Of course you can climb the Carina Sagittarius arm from way south, but this is part of a very lengthy expedition that requires a lot more time than crossing the Abyss.

After you rich the rim things don't get much better. And those 65KLY systems require manual jumping for ASP pilots, but also Anaconda's pilots that want to get further. As much as I support the "explore with any ship" mentality, the rim is no joke and jumprange matters for real. This beeing said, CMDR Allitnil could reach a system just over the 65KLY line with a Cobra called the Roncevaux and he claims that 25LY jumprange are enough, but it's really an effort.

It has to be noted that nowhere else in the galaxy you can reach that distance. And that with the current FSD technology noone ever succeded in breaching the 66K limit or even getting near. So these places are not just statistical, it's as far as you can go from Sol, something that bears many meanings to the human mind.

Beagle Point
Game map search ref. : CEECKIA ZQ-L C24-0
POI Type: Historical
Beagle Point, one of the most distant star systems currently surveyed at 65,279 LYs from Sol, marked the end of the line for the 'Distant Suns' extreme-range survey mission during the very early days of deep space exploration (Dec. 3300 - Jan. 3301), and the first recorded galactic crossing (culminating on 18th Jan. 3301). Subsequently it has become a system that has been visited by explorers conducting their own survey missions of the galactic outer rim regions.

Lone Star

Game map search ref. : CHUA EOP ZC-T C20-0
POI Type: Historical
The furthest known point that a Sidewinder has reached. The ships' 11-week journey across the galaxy began in Jan. 3301 and was concluded in March 3301 when it reached the southern edge of the Abyss, 58,770 LYs from Sol, and was unable to go any further due to its limited FSD range.

Asterous - The 'Northern' Meridian
Game map search ref. : IORADY JO-Z D13-0
POI Type: Beacon (Distance Marker and 'Zero' Meridian Line Reference)
65,400 LYs 'north' of Sol, along the 0 meridian, this systems acts as a navigational distance marker, 80,400 LYs distance from the southern marker. It is thought to be the most 'northerly' reachable star from Sol.

The Sublustris Beacon
Game map search ref. : CHEAE EURL AA-A E0
POI Type: Beacon (Distance Marker)
Situated on the far edge of the 'southeastern' part of the Abyss, this system acts as a 61,000 LY distance marker and a navigational waypoint for starships heading out to the galactic rim from the Roncevaux Crossing. It is almost exactly 10,000 LYs to Beagle Point from this beacon star system.

The Roncevaux Crossing

Game map search ref. : QAUTHEIA BA-A E0
POI Type: Navigational Waypoint
Point at which a 25.8 LY range Cobra Mk III (The Roncevaux) successfully crossed the eastern edge of the Abyss into the outer galactic arm regions.
Travelers attempting to reach the most distant suns using shorter ranged craft than an Asp are advised to begin their journey across the Abyss at QAUTHEIA BA-A E0 and plot a route to EICTACH VJ-L B14-0 on the near fringe of the outer arm.

The Svenno Crossing
Game map search ref. : EOWRAIRKS NC-D D12-0
POI Type: Navigational Waypoint
Point at which a 41 LY range Anaconda successfully crossed the southern edge of the Abyss into the outer galactic arm regions.
Travelers attempting to reach the most distant suns using larger ranged craft than an Asp are advised to begin their journey across the Abyss at EOWRAIRKS NC-D D12-0 and plot a route to IORASP AQ-G D10-1 on the near fringe of the outer rim regions.

Beagle Crossing
Game map search ref. : PROYOOE LW-E D11-3
POI Type: Historical & Navigational Waypoint
Beagle Crossing is a region on the far rim of the Scutum-Centaurus arm where an Asp Explorer made the first successful crossing of the Abyss (January 3301). Today it acts as a guide for explorers attempting to traverse the Abyss in starships with approx. 34 LY FSD ranges.

Points Of Interest
Map Ref. Point #1
Solitude
Game map search ref. : CEECKIA KU-M D8-1
POI Type: Rare (due to distance)
One of the most distant Earth-Like worlds from Sol. Located over 64,900 LYs away, on the galactic outer rim, Solitude is thought to be the first of several Earth-Like worlds discovered on the far galactic rim.

Game Map Ref. #2
ATT's World
Game map search ref. : CEECKIA QA-L D9-0
POI Type: Rare (due to distance)
One of the most distant Earth-Like worlds from Sol. Located over 65,060 LYs away, on the galactic outer rim, ATT's World is thought to be the most distant Earth-Like world from Sol so far discovered.

Game Map Ref. #3
Lynx Legacy
Game map search ref. : Iorant gm-l c21-0
POI Type: Historical
'Lynx Legacy' marked the furthest system visited by CMDR Big_Bad_Lynx, circa Jan. 20th 3301 - one of the first three pioneers* to reach the far galactic rim.
*CMDR 'Erimus' Kamzel, CMDR Big_Bad_Lynx, CMDR ATT.

Game Map Ref. #4
Ceeckia PE-E D13-0
Game map search ref. : CEECKIA PE-E D13-0
POI Type: Statistical
At 65,365 LYs, this system is the most 'northerly' reachable system from Sol. First visited by CMDR SvennoJ in April 3301, only a 41 LY Anaconda can reach it.

Game Map Ref. #5
Myeia Thaa JI-B D13-0
Game map search ref. : Myeia Thaa JI-B D13-0
POI Type: Statistical
At 65,373 LYs from Sol, this is one of the most distant reachable star systems with current FSD technology. First visited by CMDR Alltinil in mid-3301, only a 41 LY Anaconda can reach it. Later other pilots reached this system, namely Stupid_Hippy, Turambar and Flector. Many of them were not aware of Allitnil record but had to stop here becouse all further systems were unreacheble. This makes Myeia Thaa JI-B D13-0 the final destination of many expeditions.

The 'Treehouse'
Closest Map Ref. Point : Beagle Point
Game map search ref. : Iorant FR-C c26-0
POI Type: Rare discovery due to distance
A difficult to reach point that juts out into the beyond, 65.339.95 LY from Sol. It is at the end of a "trunk" and a "branch" which requires an Anaconda configured for making long jumps to reach. The branch itself requires a 40.73 LY jump necessitating a partially depleted fuel tank. The Treehouse is among the most distant star systems currently surveyed and is situated near the Beagle Point.

Trilateral meeting Point
Closest Map Ref. Point : Beagle Point
Game map search ref. :CEECKIA BY-F D12-1
POI Type: Historical
In 28th June 3301, a group of three intrepid explorers met just a few light years from Beagle Point in this system. In doing so they made the first distant deep space rendezvous recorded. The CMDRs are: Allitnil, Stulli and Barefoot Bandit. (65,278 LYs from Sol). This system (65,278.49LY from SOL) is frequently visitited by CMDRs that elect it as they further effort, beeing a natural end of a route that stops there.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE
GtbssC2.jpg

If you already are East of Sagittarius A* you don't need to cross the Abyss, but you can climb the Carina Sagittarius Arm. Or alternatively you can cross tha gap between the two arms way eastern than the Roncevaux Crossing. This area is called Silentium, and the gap there the Silentium-Centauri Badlands. In the Silentium Centauri Badlands star density is very good for any jumprange, especially near the ecliptical. But near the ecliptical there are few scoopable stars. There's a layer of scoopable stars just above the ecliptical that makes a good route for any spaceship, just be carefull to watch your fuel gauge, since the route plotter can throw you several unscoopables in a row. If that happens just make a jump few LY above to find OBAFGKM. The 2 POIs (Centauri Shores and Silentium Shores) are just Historical, you can start your traverse from everywhere here. I have been the first to document a crossing of Silentium, if you are interested in the details of this area please visit here.

Once you arrive in the Carina Sagittarius Arm (Silentium - Solitude - The Far Rim) don't head immidiatly north, you will never breach the 65K line here and toss yourself into the fringe where there are few stars. Just stay in the middle untill the meridian and then climb toward the Northern Meridian.

HISTORY
January 3301
- CMDR 'Erimus' Kamzel reaches the far side of the galaxy after successfully crossing the outer rim Abyss in an Asp Explorer - circa Jan. 18th 3301. The first recorded crossing of the galaxy was reported and published a few days after the explorer reached 'Beagle Point' (CEECKIA ZQ-L C24-0), a star system over 65,000 LYs from home. A GalNet report of the endeavor causes some controversy at the time as it is stated that the DSS Beagle had returned from the far galactic rim, when in reality it had been badly damaged after hyperspacing into a red giant binary pair, exited in the corona of one of the stars, and thus remained crippled out on the galactic rim for several more weeks before the journey home began.

March 3301
- CMDR SvennoJ departs on his quest to find the galaxies loneliest planet. Later in his journey he crosses the western edge of the Abyss using an Anaconda class starship.

April 3301
- CMDR Allitnil concludes his epic 14,000 star system journey, and in doing so is recorded as being the first pilot to cross the far galactic Abyss in a Cobra Mk III.
- CMDR SvennoJ reaches CEECKIA PE-E D13-0, a system 65,365 LYs from Sol - setting a new distance record for a 41 LY Anaconda.

May 3301
- CMDR R4nger0 becomes the first explorer to pilot a Sidewinder class starship to the far side of the galaxy - reaching a distance of 58,000 LYs from Sol. However the ship could not cross the outer rim Abyss due to its limited FSD range.
- CMDR Marlon Blake discovers The Treehouse, the furthest system reached to date in the Beagle Point region as chronicalled in The 65,340Ly Destination.

June 3301
- CMDR's Stulli, Barefoot Bandit and Allitnil rendezvous close to Beagle Point at CEECKIA BY-F D12-1 (Trilateral Meeting Point) on the far side of the galaxy, 65,278.49 LYs from Sol, and in doing so set a record for the first far distance encounter recorded. After that meeting CMDR Barefoot Bandit continued his lenghty expedition, but the system was already broadcasted in the Explorer channells, and another CMDR was able to "snipe" all his share of tags in the system.

July 3301
- CMDR Allitnil concludes his mission to measure the extent of the reachable galaxy and submits some of his findings to the Universal Cartographics Galactic database. In this incredible expedition, he crossed the 65K line on 28th June and a couple of days later beated the record for the furthest system from Sol ever reached: Myeia Thaa JI-B D13-0 at 65,373.72 LY.

October 3301
- A group of Veterans decided to institute THE 65000 LY FROM SOL CLUB, and designed CMDR Akira Masakari as curator, since he was in the CEECKIA Sector at the moment. Thanks to the Club registration to UC Institution, many CMDRs that were in the area in that period, converged to the CEECKIA Sector. CMDR Akira Masakari was passing an extend period of time in the Sector surveying it, and could meet three CMDRs in a day. Route Plots and scientific data has been exchanged, and also long range docking trainings took place, with CMDRs Alot, Eryn Liamson, Finwen. 25th October 3301 has probably been the most crowded day for the CHEECKIA Sector. Details can be found here.

November 3301
- In the beginning of November 3301 CMDR Alot concluded the fastest known expedition to the Far Rim. His route Sol > Myeia Thaa JI-B D13-0 > Sol consists in about 150,000LY and has been covered in 20 days, 22 hours and 53 minutes. Differently from the early Pioneers, CMDR Alot could use the advantage of the 1.1 Route Plotter Computer, but he paid a tribute to those early Pioneers visiting every Historical and Geographical POI present in this thread, including the-very-difficult-to-navigate Treehouse. That made his expedition not a pure race, but a very meaningfull experience for historical and scientifical aspects. Details can be found here.
- CMDR Arrakaij is the first Fuel Rat that brought fuel limpets over the 65K. No Rat Call has been made, but he sacrified jumprange in order to be possibly helpfull to others. Even with fuel limpets, he broke the record for max distance from Sol in an ASP class vessel. This is the confirmation that Fuel Rats can reach every corner of the Milky Way, and everyone is relieved in knowing this.

December 3301
- 14th December 3301: jump-boost synthesis technology has been made public, and that changed the ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM DISTANCE FROM SOL RECORD RULE. Few weeks later intrepid, and little lunatic CMDRs are rumored to have reached Beagle Point. The confirmed ufficial contact has been made by CMDR Allitnil on 21st December. He gave proof that he departed from Beagle 2 Landing Station in Asellus Primus system and jumped in Beagle Point, covering a 70,000LY route in 40 hours, 36 minutes real time (including sleep and feeding). What will happen next, we will know in due time, and it seems that time will be soon, despite the introduction of the new rules.

January 3302
- In the beginning of January 3302, CMDR Flector registered the furthest visited system from Sol to Universal Cartographic Institution. The systen name is OEVAXY IG-Y D0 and is situated a staggering 65,627.06 LY from SOL. This mark the end of a race started to report the furthest system after the Fuel Injection Technology has been made available to the general public. Another famous explorer and record breacker, CMDR Allitnil, was beaten fro this record for a mere few days, and fairly accepted Flector results as a gentleman, also confirming that OEVAXY IG-Y D0 is the furthest system reacheable with current technology.
- 14th January 3302 the Distant World Expedition, counting 1000 ships incribed alongside with their crew, departed. This is relevant to the club since the purpose of the expedition is bringing all these CMDRs to Beagle Point, not before having deeply explored all the route in between.

I'd rep you, but it seems I've already done it. Great job, hope to see you in the game soon!

As for points of interest...

I'd like to add, what I call "Trilateral Meeting Point", (though StAlBa Pt is growing on me - CMDR's Stulli, Alitnil and Barefoot Bandit comprise the name), located at CEECKIA BY-F D12-1 which is at 65,278.49 from Sol. CMDR's Stulli and Alitnil are credited with tags in the system, my tag was sniped by a tourist CMDR who decided to scan everything. This is the furthest meeting of 3 CMDR's to date (as far as I know, perhaps even for two), and the first meeting beyond 65k Ly. Date was 28/6/3301.

65278.49 is also my personal greatest distance.

On a side note, this also happens to be the point of the furthest cargo transfer in to date. A single container of Food Cartridges was ejected by CMDR Stulli, and collected by myself. I still have it in my hold.

If anyone wishes to play Galactic Pass the Parcel... Let me know.

Repost of what I said in the other thread (plus a bit extra):

I first crossed the 65K line on March 6th in my Cobra Mk III Ronceveaux. with this loadout http://www.edshipyard.com/#/L=702,mpW0Wg,2-3I6u6Q5K5K5K6k,4-E0M27Q40Iw2UI2jw. 25.86 (max fuel) / 27.46 (min fuel) LY jump range. The furthest I managed to get on that trip was to Iorant OG-N C20-0 at 65,099.66 LY from Sol.

There's a log thread for this trip https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=108483 also a "I'm back" one https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=139177 which includes a map of the route (not very good for the northern bit admittedly).

The second trip was in my fully stripped down Anaconda Nobody's Business http://www.edshipyard.com/#/L=706,,2-3I8S9Y8S2CD86k,53c0AA0PA0PA0Nc08c08c5DI0nE2UI2jw (39.97 / 41.17 LY). I crossed the line on 28th June and a couple of days later beat Svenno's record for the furthest system from Sol, reaching Myeia Thaa JI-B D13-0 at 65,373.72 LY.

The route for this trip can be found at https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=170042&page=2

FYI, Hans Gugensolder (correct spelling) was most likely there in March. Iorant OG-N C20-0 hadn't been tagged when I visited it but was so when I got back home in mid April. Hans had handed in a lot of data for an exploration CG in early April so I guess that's when he returned, see https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...076258&highlight=Hans Gugensolder#post2076258

Nice job on the thread. I won't be getting on this list soon, it seems, certainly not on this trip - still need to reach Sag A, punch through to the other side, circle back and get home before Horizons is out. Perhaps on my next trip I can do some hillbilly dirt racing 65k from home :)

It won't let me rep you again Akira, so have a virtual one for now. :)

I hope a mod will sticky this thread, I think its just as important and part of players personal goals and exploration history as the great Sagittarius A* thread.

If I go around down the galaxy arm then I can bypass the Ronceveaux crossing, correct? Because I am coming from that direction anyway. My current position and past and future route, though I may make the Ronceveaux crossing on the way back to shorten the return trip.

I think I drew the path too far downwards, I did definitely not cross that gap, only went to the Orion cloud complex.

Flying a ~26ly Clipper  ETA ~2.5 weeks. If someone wants to rendezvous around that time let me know.

CMDR Marlon Blake - 31st May 3301 65,339.95LY from SOL

The date was taken from when from when I chronicalled the trip, not when I crossed the abyss. Also the distance was a little off.

GALACTIC MAP REFERENCES

I have a POI registered in the galactic mapping project for the place I got to:

Closest Map Ref. Point : Beagle Point
The 'Treehouse'
Game map search ref. : Iorant FR-C c26-0
POI Type: Rare discovery due to distance
A difficult to reach point that juts out into the beyond, 65.339.95 LY from Sol. It is at the end of a "trunk" and a "branch" which requires an Anaconda configured for making long jumps to reach. The branch itself requires a 40.73 LY jump necessitating a partially depleted fuel tank. The Treehouse is thought to be the most distant star system currently surveyed and is situated on the far edge of the galactic outer rim, close to Beagle Point.

@Roxunreal - I'm kind of where you pass nearest to the centre (I think), but that image of yours massively forshortens the last leg of the journey outbound. I'm about 47KLY from them at the moment but will be making a determined effort to knock a chunk of that off this weekend

Your max distance added. The story of your meeting are in both Beagle Point description and in History section. There should be links to the corrisponding threads you created. Later today I will check better and rewrite the points to further meet your description.

Your max distance added. Your double expedition with cobra and anaconda should be there in the sections, I'll check better later and add links. Corrected the spelling of CMDR Gugensolder and his esteemed day of arrival.

I hope a mod will sticky this thread, I think its just as important and part of players personal goals and exploration history as the great Sagittarius A* thread.

Is beagle point your max distance? I will ask mods to make sticky now.

Hi CMDRs

Could you pop me on the list also please Akira

I reached 65,301 on August 26th

Regards

Pharoh

Sure thing, I saw you there now that I remeber. This CMDR is out from before 1.3 slowly circumnavigating the galaxy but he is not very talkative on the forums. What amazing expedition is he doing!!!

If you climb the Carina Sagittarius Arm you don't need to cross the Abyss at all. If you go east than the Ronceveaux crossing there's a zone called Silentium-Centauri Badlands that can be crossed by any jumprange, but there are few scoopables. Probably I've been the first to document a crossing there. It's all in the Erimus gal map thread. When you are in the area write me and I'll add you in the Incoming List. Also if you need any advice the Vets here will be happy to support you.

Corrected yor date, your max distance, added the threehaous in the Points of interest section. Later I will add your links.

Any correction or suggestion is very welcome, i will do my best to keep this updated and neat. I would like to keep it simple, and on the other hand put as many links to other threads as possible so any reader can have a lot of threads, vids, pictures and such to go.

A slight clarification to my numbers after checking my screenies.

First screenie over the line is dated 31st july

AEFE2BED1A151FA1A635E54485F2E5EFB85B7D82

and farthest point reached is MYEIA THAA JI-B D13-0 at 65373.72LY from Sol. (Same point as Allitnil,I think)

corrected date, added distance.
Later today i will do something to the list that's getting cluttered with distances. Maybe I make some colour magic.

big_bad_lynx reached Iorant gm-l c21-0 (Lynx Legacy).

I'm not sure how far that was from Sol, but it'll give you that bit of missing data for his entry when you check in game.

Forgot to mention,I also have screenies showing Turambar and Azyron both with first discovered tags out there that I saw on my own expedition, meaning they both crossed the line and got home again at some point before my visit at the end of July.

Edit.. Ok, I got this wrong. Azyron definitely pre July 31st but Turambar is pre my second expedition, screenie dated 4th September. Sorry for the mis-information.

I will make an update tomorrow with all the new info. This evening I'd like to lurk another bit toward Beagle Point.
CMDR Dognosh has put the thread into the sticky list and made it thread of the month, so let's go there and give him some rep.
For the sticky I've reported my own thread and asked there, the mods should reply in few days.
